Mof Gimmers, Anti-Human Snob Who Hates Unborn Babies

3D-Babies.com
January 22, 2014 - Expecting parents can now get a life-size 3D model made of their unborn child. A new company, 3-D Babies, uses 3D/4D ultrasound images "to create a unique artistic representation of your baby using the latest computer graphics and 3D printing technology."

As "art" the fetus models are a bit tacky, in a big-eyed-children-on-black-velvet paintings way. That's just my opinion, though, and if parents want a model of their unborn child it's alright by me. There's no harm in it. Love it or hate it, you have to admit that it's an innovative way to make use of 3D printer technology.

British writer Mof Gimmers is very afraid, however. He confesses to being horrified by the 3D baby models and of the soon-to-be-born human beings that they represent. "Unborn babies and fish alike," he wrote, "are about as sentient as a Furby in a skip of emulsion." Nice, huh? No wonder Gimmers was named as one of the "100 worst people on Twitter."

"EVER looked at the world and become suddenly depressed?" wrote Gimmers in a January 21 post at Anorak with the melodramatic headline "Horrifying figurines of foetuses, now available to buy."

3D-Babies.com
Gimmers is revolted by unborn human beings, and that actually seems to be the root of his vile post: It's not the models that bothers him, really, its what they represent to him. He's one of those monstrous people who call the unborn "little parasites," and I'm sure he would agree that a fetus is nothing more than a "clump of cells" less deserving of respect than a spoonful of chicken broth. Fetuses are like fish, he says. I'm not sure how he sees a fish when he looks at the 3D fetus models, but his hatred and disdain of unborn children are obvious.

When Gimmers sees a fetus model, he sees viciousness, cruelty and bloodiness. Perhaps that's a Freudian expression of his guilt feelings about abortion, which he obviously supports.

In Gimmers' twisted worldview, a mother's unborn child is just a parasite sitting in a sack of its own feces, not worthy of being born - especially if its parents had a 3D model made of it. (Note: Fetuses do not defecate in the womb; there's no need. The mother digests food, not the fetus; nutrients are passed to the fetus via blood through the umbilical chord.)

Gimmers is too cowardly to use his real name. He calls himself an "anti-snob" on his Tumblr blog (which takes forever to load). However, Gimmers is a snob. "Anyone buying these," he wrote, "should have spent that money on condoms or the taxi fare to a vasectomy." Agree with me, he seems to say, or submit to sterilization.

In other words, Gimmers is saying that the child should not have been conceived because Gimmers' artistic taste differs from that of the parents. Gimmers is unable to recognize that calling happy, expecting parents who are eager to "see" their unborn child "gruesome womb-botherers" is the height of snobbery. Indeed, his entire article is an elitist, snobbish demand that people who have different tastes in art be disallowed from reproducing. Pray that Gimmers never becomes Minister of Eugenics.

Gimmers and creeps like him must recoil in fear and disgust when they see a pregnant woman. A psychologically healthy person would see the beauty of a mother-to-be. Not Gimmers' crowd. They see a woman victimized by an ugly fish-like parasite lurking inside of her body. What must they think of a newborn child, freshly out of the womb, crapping all over itself and still dependent on its parents for food and safety?

Nine Kids Hit With Pepper Spray at Chicago School, Sent to Hospitals

Image: melookymelikey.com
June 19, 2013 - Nine children were hospitalized after being hit with pepper spray late this afternoon, reports WBBM 780 AM. The incident occurred inside a classroom of the Ruben Salazar Elementary Bilingual Center, part of the Chicago Public School system. The school is located at 160 West Wendell Street (map).

WGN reports that "a female student discharged pepper spray." The Chicago Tribune reports that the student "brought the pepper spray to school and at some point took the spray out in one of the classrooms. The spray discharged and nine students were overcome by the fumes."

"One student was taken in fair-to-serious condition and five others in good condition to Lurie Children's Hospital," says the Tribune. "Three more children were also taken in good condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to Fire Media."

Salazar serves children in pre-school through 8th grade. The student enrollment is approximately 430.

This is not the first time
that school children in Chicago have been hit with pepper spray. In January, seven children hospitalized when a student sprayed pepper spray in a school lunchroom at a South Side elementary school (CBS Chicago).

Pepper can injure in forms other than spray, however. In May, reports Complex.com, three cafeteria workers at Highland Park High School in Chicago were hospitalized "after a sneaky, yet short-sighted teenager mixed extremely potent hot sauce with the cafeteria's marinara supply." The fumes from the resulting hot sauce "were so strong that the workers had to be hospitalized."

Taliban Beheads Two Boys In Kandahar, But Media Has Food Fight Over Motive

June 10, 2013 - The bodies of two boys named Khan and Hameedullah, 10 and 16, were discovered with their heads cut off. And the media can't get the motivation straight.

Source: undispatch.com
"News of the 10-year-old's death was all over Twitter yesterday, but "later on Monday the Kandahar provincial government office confirmed that a second boy had also been beheaded," says BBC News today. Many reports are saying that the Taliban killed the boys, but they deny responsibility for the murders. Taliban spokesman Qari Yousef Ahmadi "insisted to the BBC the group had not beheaded any children in the area."

Kandahar's governor, Dr. Toryalay Wessa, condemned the killings as inhumane and un-Islamic and insists the Taliban is guilty of killing the boy. A manhunt for the killers has been ordered.

"The boys were on their way back ... when they were stopped by Taliban insurgents who beheaded them," the chief of Zhari district, Jamal Agha, told Reuters. "Both of them were innocent children and had nothing to do with government or foreigners."

Were They Looking for Food?
There is media confusion over the motivation behind the killing of the two boys. Many reports say the boys were killed while seeking food, but at least one report says that the boys may have actually been selling food.

The Kandahar provincial government office issued a statement last night that said the boys were probably suspected by the Taliban of giving information to police in exchange for food, says The Telegraph. "In separate incident, it was claimed, the boys were questioned about spying and their heads were then cut off."  A Reuters report at Gulf News says that Khan and Hameedullah "had traveled to Afghan army and police checkpoints near their home in the southern province of Kandahar, scrounging for leftover food to bring to their families, the officials said."

Which is it? Were the boys scrounging for food or given food in exchange for information?

Or Were They Selling Yogurt?
However, a very different report from Voice of Journalists (VOJ) says that the boys may have been killed "because they sold yogurt to Afghan Police and Army personnel. The boys were warned that they should not have any business dealings with any Afghan official. However, today when the boys were coming back after selling their 'Lassi', a yogurt-based drink, they were captured and then ruthlessly beheaded."

Video: In 2012, Taliban Islamist insurgents beheaded 17 party-goers.
A spokesperson of Kandaha governor said that the boys had a flock of sheep and goats, reports VOJ.  "They would create lassi out of yogurt and then swap this drink with Afghan Police and Army to get some food in return. For this reason, they were warned by the Taliban. They were asked not to conduct any business with Afghan Police or help them in any matter."

The Telegraph also notes that "Afghans officials believe the Taliban carried out the executions as a 'warning' to other youngsters not to co-operate with the Coalition forces at a time when they are launching fresh attacks in Afghan cities on Western and Afghan forces as part of their Spring offensive which has so far seen a series of high profile attacks."

Israeli Policy Could Have Saved Lives In the Newtown School Shooting

Dec. 14, 2012 - The horrific shooting today at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut [map] left at least 28 dead, including the shooter. At least 20 of those killed were children. The shooter, 20-year old Adam Lanza. One of the adult victims was Nancy Lanza, the killer's own mother, who worked at the school. What could have been done to stop the shooter and save some lives? Before we continue, I'll just remind you that the police responded with guns. That's right, the cops had guns.

Here are some of the ineffective things that actually happened today:

Principal Dawn Hochsprung and the school psychologist leapt out of their seats and ran out of the room to help, Ms. Day, a therapist at the school said. "They didn't think twice about confronting or seeing what was going on," she said, reports The Wall Street Journal. Ms. Hochsprung was one of those killed in the attack.

Image taken from Twitter: Attribution unknown
"One parent who was in the school at the time of the shooting," reports CNN, "said she heard a 'pop, pop, pop,' sound around 9:30 a.m. In the room with her were Hochsprung, the vice principal and Sherlach. All three left the room and went into the hall to see what was happening. The parent ducked under the table and called 911."

What should have happened: Somebody could have shot Adam Lanza, stopping him in his tracks. Unfortunately, it seems, nobody in the school was armed. Schools are known to law enforcement as being attractive targets for criminally insane people bent on killing. That fact makes it hard to understand why so few schools have armed guards to protect the children and staff.

The Attorney General of Texas, Greg Abbott says schools should have armed personnel. He told the Houston Chronicle today that "the common denominator for the school shootings in Aurora, Columbine and Virginia Tech is that we have a target-rich environment," and "You have a shooter that is completely free to go about his sick fantasy. We need to do what it takes to change that." He also told the Chronicle that, "Had there been [armed security guard and citizens] in Colorado, at Virginia Tech or now in Connecticut - someone that could have changed the dynamic and to do so by having a firearm - there would be fewer lives lost."  Is Greg Abbot right? Ask the Israelis.

Chicago, Death Trap For Children

Chicago's streets are bloody
(Chicago News Bench photo)
The Homeless Patriot has some sharp comments about the high number of children who are killed in Chicago every year.

Says HP, "Chicago's overall murder rate is horrible. Recently, Chicago officials bragged that the local murder rate was down, but that's a bit like a pest control guy bragging that the dozen rats he killed today has reduced the local vermin population." HP goes on to quote two great articles.

Happy Father's Day, Dan Proft

Being a father is a sacred trust and a blessing from God. Being a father is not just a joyful responsibility. Actually having a father and knowing him, having him be a part of your life, is also a blessing. What a shameful thing it is for a man to ignore a child that is his. Dan Proft knows this first hand, so we wish him a special "happy Father's Day."

One of Dan Proft's favorite sayings is, "We need to invest in families." I'm sure he means time and love, in addition to other peoples' tax dollars. Proft frequently says that we should all "respect life." He means that he's anti-abortion, of course, but I'm so sure that he also means that children who are already born and leading their young lives should be respected, too, and that their fathers should be there at every step of the way. To merely allow someone to be born and then to abandon them, after all, is not very respectful.

Dan Proft is the guy who placed sixth in the Illinois Republican primary for governor back in February. He claims to a "conservative" and is even referred to (although often with snickering) as "the ultra-conservative Dan Proft." Proft calls himself an "unapologetic conservative." As such, I'm sure, he knows and cherishes the meaning of being a good father. He was an adopted child, after all, and therefore knows first hand just how horrible it is for a child to not have one's real father in his or her life.

"Our most important right is the right to life," Proft said on his campaign website. "A respect for life means more than defending the unborn, it requires us to serve those born to disadvantageous circumstances and to find them loving homes for them. Thirty-seven years ago, I was adopted by parents who made the choice to welcome me into a loving, caring home. There are many children today who need stable homes, and those children, and the families that welcome them will have no stronger advocate in the governor’s office than me. According to the Dave Thomas Foundation, 60% of Americans have been personally touched by adoption. I am glad to say that I am a product of that happiness today."

As a student of social trends and current affairs, Dan Proft must be well aware of the fact that growing up without a father is one of the leading causes of juvenile deliquency and, later, a life of crime and/or academic failure. That's not to say, of course, that all fatherless children turn out bad, but the fact is that a disproportionately high number of them do.

Proft promised that - if elected governor - a Proft Administration would "Defend life from conception to natural death." I'm oh-so-sure that he must have also meant that a good father would do that for his own child, and not just leave that sacred duty to the government - or anybody else.

I'll bet that Dan Proft, as a Christian and a conservative, remains celibate and would never think of sleeping around. No sir, not Dan Proft. He's pure as the driven snow, you know, and that's why you should hang on his every word, whether he's speaking at a VFW hall or as a regular commentator and talk show host on WLS 890 AM.

Proft noted that it "is entirely natural for parents to want the best education possible for their children." Not just education, of course. I'm very certain that Dan Proft means that parents want the best of everything possible for their children. I'm sure that if he had a beautiful young daughter he'd want the best for her. Proft would want to see her grow up, to make sure she's studying, getting along well with other kids, dreaming the right kind of dreams, setting the right kind of goals. If Dan Proft had a daughter (hypothetically, of course) he'd be proud to publicly escort her to the opera and show her off. He'd want to be at her high school and college graduations, and eventually to walk her down the aisle at her wedding. If he had a son (again, hypothetically), Proft would want to play ball with him, do the graduation routines, and teach him to treat women with respect and dignity, and to always do the right thing. Right?

So, happy Father's Day to Dan Proft, a guy whose biological father was not in his life but was fortunate enough to be adopted into a loving household with both a mother figure and a father figure. See how well Dan Proft turned out? He's an inspiration to all of us, no? Remember: Any animal can sire a litter of offspring. It takes a real man to be a dad. I have no doubt that Dan Proft, and you and I, will remember our fathers - our dads - on Sunday, June 20.

"To a father growing old nothing is dearer than a daughter." ~Euripides

Two Kids Fall From Church Window in Chicago

Two 6-year-old girls fell out of the window of a building this morning in the Rogers Park on Chicago's far north side, reports Chicago Breaking News. Just past 10:00 a.m., it is reported, the girls "fell from a window of a building that is located behind the United Church of Rogers Park, 1545 W. Morse Ave. The children were taken to Children's Memorial Hospital with leg injuries, but their conditions weren't immediately available, according to the Chicago Fire Department." The building from which they fell is in a portion of the United Church of Rogers Park that is leased to St. Mary's Ethiopian Orthodox Church. They might just as easily have been injured walking up the steps to the Ashland Avenue entrance of the church. As you see in our photos here, those steps are in serious, long-term disrepair. In the photo to the left, a local mentally-challenged man attempts acrobatics on them with his bicycle. In the photo below, members of the church walk down the unsafe steps. We reported on these unsafe conditions of the United Church of Rogers Park back in June of 2009, but here's a fresh report today: Chicago Breaking News quotes a member of United Church's board as saying, "Two of the kids found their way to the stairwell and out of the eyes of their parents," and that the kids "unlocked a window on the landing where they were playing." He said the girls fell into a concrete courtyard. There is a big sign on the Morse Avenue side of the church that says "This Congregation Rejects War." We dare say that more people have been injured in the United Church of Rogers Park by non-warfare incidents than otherwise. RELATED: Rogers Park Man Was Murdered ABC7 Chicago

When In Dar Al Harb, Do As The Dhimmi Do

This unbalanced report from AP writer Elaine Ganley appeared today with the headline "Muslim says mistresses are the French way of life." Let's look at an excerpt (emphasis added):

PARIS – A Muslim Frenchman at the center of a firestorm over polygamy said Monday that keeping mistresses is the French way of life. The man's case came to light after his wife was fined for driving with a veil covering her face, and his comments are an ironic riposte to those in French President Nicolas Sarkozy's government who want to push immigrants to better integrate into French society....

Subsequently, wrote Ganley, "it soon emerged that her husband may have four wives."

Hold on. The main thrust of Ganley's AP report, actually, is the "controversial legislation forbidding burqa-style Islamic veils that cover the face, on the grounds that they don't respect French values or women's dignity." So, why a headline that stresses the French tradition of mistresses? The issue here revolves around (a) the veil and its implications for security and the dignity of women, and (b) the possibility that the woman's husband, Algerian-born Lies Hebbadj, is a polygamist.

France's Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux, reports Ganley, "wants to revoke the French citizenship of the driver's husband if he is found to be practicing polygamy."

So, again, why the headline about French mistresses? I would guess that it's a nice way for a Western Civilization apologist to throw a jab at the French for daring to challenge the customs of the interlopers in their midst. What Ganley does in her report is, in effect, to distract from the real issue of the veil (include burkas with that), and polygamist practices by Muslims. Ganley waits until her last paragraph to note that "There are no official numbers on the number of polygamous families in France, most of which are from sub-Saharan Africa, but they are estimated in the tens of thousands."

Although Ganley gives prominent attention to Mr. Hebbadj's ridicule of the customs of the nation he has chosen to live in: "If we are stripped of nationality, for having mistresses," Lies Hebbadj told reporters in Nantes, then "there would be a lot of French people stripped of nationality. As far as I know, mistresses are not forbidden, neither in France, nor in Islam."

Is Hebbadj's statement intended to make us, somehow, more sympathetic to him or to the practice of polygamy? Regardless of your opinion of the French practice of taking on mistresses, the fact of the matter is that Hebbadj is an outsider who is excusing his own culture's bad practices by criticizing the bad practices of his host culture. It's a bit like farting at a dinner party, then criticizing the host for belching.

While we see no shortage of headlines such as "French Law Stigmatizes Muslims," we'll probably not see "Islamic Law Stigmatizes All Non-Muslims" anytime soon in the Mainstream Media.

Hebbadj should consider a career in politics. He can obfuscate with the best of them. He mocks the French for their mistresses in order to spin attention away from his alleged polygamy, and to somehow make mistresses and polygamy morally equivalent. In my own opinion, neither hobbies are admirable, but that's not the issue here. The issue is the law - the local law, for which Hebbadj and his kinsmen seem to openly scorn.

Neither Ganley nor Hebbadj mentioned anything about the time-honored tradition of child abuse and slavery in the Muslim world. Perhaps Hebbadj could advocate for those avocations as well.

Perhaps Hebbadj never heard the old saying, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." We could update and personalize that for him: "When in Dar Al Harb, do as the Dhimmi do."  It's only polite.

Activists Whine About Criminals With Children

Many people who are locked up in jails and prisons are parents. Their innocent children are often left behind, victims of the misdeeds of their parents. Those kids are sometimes taken care of by the parent who is not locked up, or by relatives. Photo: T.H.Mannis In some cases, the children have nowhere to go and so become wards of the state. In any case, the children suffer, but whose fault is that? Is it socieity's fault? Before you answer, remember that "society" is you and your own family, your friends, your neighbors, and everybody else. Or is it the fault of the criminal who happens to be a parent? Here's my own suggestion: Any parent who is convicted of any crime should then be charged with child endangerment and neglect. A parent can be charged with neglect for leaving a young child unattended at home for a few hours, so why shouldn't they be also charged with at least the same for committing acts that would deny their children the benefit of having a full family unit to care for them? There are, of course, bleeding hearts who think that you and I (society) should be responsible for the fate of their families, and that sentencing should be lighter for criminals who have children. See the media release below, from the Community Renewal Society. Notice the phrase "These invisible victims of the criminal justice system have committed no crime and are left without support, stability or care due to a parent's misdeed or mistake," especially the part that says "misdeed or mistake." Words are important, and referring to crimes as "misdeeds" and "mistakes" makes them sound less serious than they really are. The group is also demanding the "restructuring family visitation procedures, inmate sentencing processes and funding for family transportation to visit incarcerated parents." Notice the phrase "inmate sentencing processes," which can only mean lighter sentences for criminals who have children. It is not society's fault that the criminals committed crimes without regard for their children's future. It is also not our fault that those criminals had children to begin with, and society should not have to face heightened risk by releasing dangerous elements back onto the streets, simply to be able to go back to the innocent children for whom they showed utter disregard for in the first place. Committing a crime, any crime, is the ultimate act of criminal neglect of children. (Emphasis and links added to the following media release. Note: "IDOC" is "Illinois Department of Corrections.") Anna Grace Gives Us Hope

Just when you start thinking there is little hope for the future, along comes some kid who surprises and amazes. One of those kids is Anna Grace, a 9-year old musical prodigy who writes and sings some of the most beautiful songs you'll ever hear. You must see and hear her - she and her music are beautiful. Her original song, "Paradise," has wonderful lyrics. First posted on YouTube on August 18, 2009, it already has 84,466 views as of Sept. 22 (9:20 p.m. CDT). I predict another 100,000 views before Halloween. The tune could easily be adapted to country, jazz, techno or rock. I'm hooked. You can see all of her videos here, on YouTube. Barack Obama Likes Them Young

Barack Obama plans to deliver an Orwellian speech to school children across the nation on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 12:00 Noon, Eastern time (see Obama's Speech to School Kidz). An important editorial from The Washington Times discusses widely held concerns about Barack Obama's plan to electronically invade schoolrooms next Tuesday, Sept. 8. President Obama's planned address to America's schoolchildren on Sept. 8 is generating a firestorm of controversy from concerned parents who think he should mind his own business and stay away from their children. It's easy to see why. Oh? And why's that? According to an Aug. 26 letter from Education Secretary Arne Duncan to school principals, the president wants to "challenge students to work hard, set educational goals and take responsibility for their learning." He also will call for "shared responsibility and commitment on the part of students, parents and educators to ensure that every child in every school receives the best education possible." "Children must attend school, whether their parents like it or not; for they belong to the state more than to their parents." ~ Plato
"Give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man.” ~ Francis Xavier (Jesuit)
An equally valuable column "Indoctrination: Get ‘Em While They’re Young," appears today at oregoncatalyst.com. It starts off with this: Why should you care that the President will be addressing your children Monday? Simple: The content of the speech is being kept secret. When someone wants to talk to your children, but won’t tell you, the parents, what it’s about, sirens and alarm bells should be going off in your head. Whether you are for or against the President’s agenda, this should scare the hell out of you. After all, don’t we constantly warn our children that if any adult tells them not to tell their parents about something, they MUST tell their parents immediately? Pushing Them Down

A thoughtful response to my recent post, "Where Are the Black Men?" Levois writes the following, which I love because my posting was inspired by his posting, "Report: black males in CPS half as likely to graduate as whites" on July 26. Thanks, Levois.

I could take so many angles with this issue. I could have said this was about welfare or I could say this was about irresponsible people having a baby. Another comment could be these men don't stick around because these women have their own issues and they guys are like forget this. One of my issues of concern that are somewhat connected to this is to talk about young men going to college. If young white men are graduating from high school they're not going to college. Especially if they're comparable to young black men who might be between poor or middle class. Not that I have some direct numbers on this, but I have seen stories on this over time. Also in my post I mention that women can push each other. I saw a story on TV one time about women in boot camp and while the guys are more competitive women are more encouraging. There is a big difference in psyche. I can't say I've put my hand on it exactly. Then again why are the guys cancelling themselves out? It might be because no one is pushing them. We make an effort to encourage young women to pursue an education and then secure a profession, but expect the guys to continue on like business as usual. Just that now men are competing with women. No one would think this should be a problem for the guys, should we? Another angle I can come up with is how there are those out there who are trying to remake society to their own ideals. That is feminists wanting to remake society where women are more dominant. I know that's a far fetched idea, so I offer you this post on how Title 9 is causing colleges to cut back on men's sports programs. Resultantly male enrollment in colleges have gone down. The only thing I'm trying to say is that something is wrong. Young black men might have it worse only because they have it worse. That is for some reason there is an expectation that they might be arrested at some point. This could be because someone is looking for them to engage in criminal activity unjustifiably or they are involved in that because no one guided them in the right direction. When you think about it, this is certainly something worth a good academic study.

Where Are the Black Men?

A disturbing report released yesterday indicates that black students in Chicago have "half the chance at graduation as their white classmates." [Source]

The wording, "half the chance," is ABC7's. Is that correct? Do they really have "half the chance," or do those kids graduate half as often as white kids? In other words, every kid has the same "chance," or opportunity, to study, to attend classes, and graduate. Their chances of graduating, however, are halved not by the system, but by social and family issues.

Friend Levois writes on his blog:

"Those who don't want to be in school will need an excuse to not show up. To me neighborhood issues might suggest criminal activity, that is they're either involved in criminal activity or it's not safe to go to school on a given day. That other quote, it's in there for a reason. I want to ask this question. Where are the men?"

The absence of fathers in black families has long been a subject of hot debate. Bill Cosby has addressed this, and more recently Barack Obama has too. Levois adds:

"I would suggest that young men need something from older men. A man has to be there to guide his children in the right direction. Unfortunately in some homes it's the women as head of the household. Perhaps the man of the house is the older brother who still doesn't know a lot about the world."

Many, many black families have gotten it right, but far too many remain fatherless. Among the contributing factors: A culture of irresponsible sex, decades of rewarding single mothers with welfare on the condition that there is no man in the household, the damaging effects of rap and hip-hop glorifying the gangsta lifestyle, and so on.

Fatherless households are not unique to African Americans, to be sure. However, with rates of 70 to 90 percent of blacks being born out of wedlock in many US cities, the future looks bleak unless the trend reverses itself suddenly and thoroughly. Until then, black kids will continue to have half the chance of succeeding as their white peers. Here's the rub: Their white peers are not to blame. It's their absent fathers and their irresponsible mothers. No amount of propaganda from Jesse Jackson can change that fact.

Global Warming and Mass Suicide

Jerry Agar, talk show host extraordinaire on WLS 890 AM in Chicago, has a good post on his blog that was written by Tim Slagle, a regularly guest on Agar's show. Jerry tells me that Slagle is a contributing writer to his blog. Slagle quotes a news story that tells of "a patient was [who] admitted to the Royal Children’s Hospital of Melbourne with the first case ever documented of climate change delusion." That's right: Climate change delusion. Now, many of us already suspected that the world wide mass hysteria about climate change was a form of mental illness. Now, however, we have clinical proof. Slagle continues: I might suggest that this isn’t the first case documented, probably just the first case treated. Since, according to the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry, “The patient ... quoted internet research to substantiate this. The patient described that “I feel guilty about it,” [and] was unable to acknowledge that the belief was unreasonable when challenged.” Well that sounds like every single environmentalist I’ve ever met. Perhaps Slagle exaggerates a wee bit. I mean, I'm an "environmentalist" inasmuch as I favor clean air, clean water, and so on. Unlike the variety of "environmentalist" that Slagle refers to however, I do not put snail darters or any other life form above the welfare of my fellow humans. To do so makes you a cultist, as Slagle explains: Global warming is a dangerous cult because it is a doomsday cult. Most of these cults meet their fate in horrendous fashion. As it becomes clear that the apocalyptic prophesy is not going as foretold, the leaders usually panic, and lead the believers to mass suicide. Lyle Lyle Crocodile Returns to Lifeline Theatre

Lyle Lyle Crocodile is back at the highly acclaimed Lifeline Theatre, June 13-July 13.

The show was so popular that it's back for more laughs and suspense. What's it about?

The Primm family is busily moving into their new house on East 88th Street, when suddenly they hear SWISH, SWASH, SPLASH, SWOOSH. A search reveals a crocodile in their bathtub! His name is Lyle, he only eats Turkish caviar, and he quickly becomes a treasured member of the family. Unfortunately, Mr. Grumps, their next door neighbor, is not so enthusiastic about having a crocodile on 88th Street.

Suggested for families with children ages 5 to 11.

Obama's Parenting Advice: Too Little, Too Late

"News" today about Obama, who has cast himself as a "truth-talker" with the refrain that one of the biggest problems facing the country is "parents who don't parent." He has folded the line into his stump speech and a North Carolina TV ad. More at WSJ Online... Well, sure, but Obama ain't the first one to say this. Bill Cosby, for example, caught heat and praise for saying this a few years ago. If more people would take to heart the writings of W.E.B. DuBois we'd be better off. We don't need Barack Obama to tell us what is just plain common sense, and something that we've known for a long, long time. Related Reading:
