Facebook Fact Checkers Suck

The humorless "fact checkers" at Facebook have struck again. I shared the video below to my timeline but the douchebag who "check facts" got their rectums in a tight knot over it. I don't know who created the video, but I found it posted by presidentialreviews on Instagram. Facebook not only put their "fact check" notice on my post, they even cut the sound from it

But Instagram, also owned by Meta, did not cut the sound from the same video on presidentialreview's post — although they also put a "partially false information" notice on it.

Here is the video in question:

As any rational person would understand, the narration presents the opinion of a female speaker. As usual, it's not explained by the "fact checkers" which part of the video comprises the "partially false information." But the "fact checkers" aren't interested in facts, only in their own opinions as reported by Breitbart on Dec. 21, 2021:

Facebook admitted that its “fact check” operation — which can make or break online publishers — is not, actually, factual....

As such, Facebook “fact checks” often reflect the opinions of the third-party media outlets that Facebook uses as fact-checkers. Whether they are right or wrong, the entire exercise is inextricable from problems of bias and conflicts of interest.

So the "fact checkers" didn't like the opinion expressed in the video because it disagreed with their opinion. That's not fact checking, it's thought suppression.

UPDATED: Russia Today Host Denounces Russian Invasion of Ukraine, Refuses Trip To Crimea

Abby Martin is serious
Martin: Honest but still employed
.
March 4, 2014 - News service Russia Today (RT) is funded by the Russian government. Some call RT the Kremlin's overseas propaganda channel. So it must have been somewhat uncomfortable for them when Abby Martin, popular host of "Breaking The Set," wrapped up her show Monday night with a monolog criticizing Russia's invasion of Crimea in the Ukraine. Martin is an American who works at RT's studios in New York City.

How did RT react to Martin's brave honesty? In typical Russian fashion, they said they would send Martin off to Crimea to get a "better understanding" of situation on the ground.

Liz Wahl, former RT news anchor and producer
Liz Wahl: Honestly Quit
UPDATE:  One of Abby Martin's colleagues, Liz Wahl, was paying close attention to Tuesday's Martin-RT spat. Wahl, a news anchor and producer in RT's Washington, D.C. bureau, quickly expressed her moral support for Martin on Twitter:

My girl @AbbyMartin: Russia Today Host Abby Martin Goes Spectacularly Off-Message In #Ukraine Broadcast http://t.co/n8A2LPIFX4

Wahl was thinking carefully about her own next move.

On Wednesday, she shocked viewers by quitting live on air, saying that she could no longer work for a network "that whitewashes the actions of Putin. I'm proud to be an American and believe in disseminating the truth, and that is why, after this newscast, I am resigning." More, with video of Wahl's resignation.

At the end of her Tuesday show, Martin said, "What Russia did is wrong. "I admittedly don't know as much as I should about Ukraine's history or the cultural dynamics of the region but what I do know is that military intervention is never the answer and I will not sit here and apologize or defend military aggression."

She finished with this: "All we can do now is hope for a peaceful outcome for a terrible situation and prevent another full blown cold war between multiple super powers. Until then I'll keep telling the truth as I see it. Have a good night everyone, I'll see you back here to break the set tomorrow."

What Martin said about her lack of knowledge about Ukraine came back to bite her. Russia Today's official statement, released on Tuesday afternoon, said "RT doesn’t beat its journalists into submission, and they are free to express their own opinions, not just in private but on the air. This is the case with Abby’s commentary on the Ukraine. We respect her views, and the views of all our journalists, presenters and program hosts, and there will be absolutely no reprimands made against Ms. Martin."

Martin's public defiance: Facebook, Tuesday afternoon
The punchline: "In her comment Ms. Martin also noted that she does not possess a deep knowledge of reality of the situation in Crimea," said RT. "As such we’ll be sending her to Crimea to give her an opportunity to make up her own mind from the epicentre of the story."

No reprimands, RT said -- other than ripping her out of the comfort of New York and whisking her off to a war zone. Would RT put Abby Martin up in decent hotel in Crimea? It would be awful to think of her, a sophisticated New York gal, bunking in Russian barracks with a bunch of drunken, smelly Cossack cabbage eaters.  But she's not going to Crimea.

Abby Martin has made her refusal public on both Facebook and TwitterAbby Martin has the best furrowed-brow look of righteous indignation in all of news broadcasting. She is courageous and outspoken, and not afraid to use these qualities for resisting RT editors or their Kremlin overlords. Today she seems more powerful than Pussy Riot in concert.

"The footage has since gone viral," reports The Independent (UK), "with some surmising that Martin's moment of defiance could be met with some severe punishment by her employers. However, sharp-eyed viewers may have noticed that she was reading from the auto-cue and, therefore, presumably had permission from producers of the show to express her beliefs." Really?

Reading from the auto-cue? Josie Ensor at The Telegraph (UK) disagrees, calling Martin's remarks "unscripted." Whatever, who cares? Scripted or not, they were her words. Martin said that "the coverage I have seen of Ukraine has been truly disappointing from all sides of the media spectrum and rife with disinformation." It is, therefore, ironic that Ensor called Martin's calm and rational commentary a "tirade," which is defined as "a long, angry speech of criticism or accusation." Martin's calm commentary lasted a mere 75 seconds. Ensor's exaggerated characterization of Martin's comment, then, is actually disinformation and at least a little bit disappointing.

Pajama Boy Ethan Krupp Admits He's A"Liberal F-ck"

December 27, 2013 - (Language Advisory) - If you thought "Pajama Boy" Ethan Krupp was just another "liberal f-ck," you were were right. In fact, he proudly calls himself just that. It exploded on the Internet today that Krupp once described himself as "a liberal fuck" in one of his own blog posts. In the same post, he also admitted to using the tactics of Saul Alinsky. In fact, Krupp's definition of "liberal f-ck" is straight out of Alinsky's book "Rules for Radicals."

Krupp is the cocoa-sipping, flannel clad, unofficial face of Obamacare who gained notoriety by appearing in two horrid online promos and one absurd video that urged people to #GetTalking about healthcare. The propaganda pieces were made to encourage Americans to visit barackobama.com/health-careKrupp has been dissected and ripped apart in the conservative blogosphere for about a week now, and many Leftists are not too happy that Krupp is now a permanently affixed meme of socialist healthcare.

Setting The Record Straight: The Washington Examiner Was NOT The First To Reveal Pajama Boy's Real Name

December 22, 2013 - The Internet exploded last week with laughter when it "discovered" a plaid clad flannel failure dubbed "PajamaBoy" by conservative bloggers. His real name was not known to more than a few of those bloggers.

In a post on November 1, titled "Creepy: OFA encourages parents to have ‘the talk’ with their children this holiday," Twitchy.com published PajamaBoy's real name:
Now OFA is urging parents this holiday season to have “the talk” with their children — you know, the talk about buying health insurance from the Obamacare exchange....Is it just us, or does that kid (actually Ethan Krupp, OFA’s content writer) look young enough to still be covered under his parents’ plan? And will the video help families #GetTalking?
Charlie Spiering, Washington Examiner
Charlie Spiering
Was Twitchy.com the very first to publish his name? I don't know, but it was the earliest one I found. In any case, it was well before the Washington Examiner's post by Charlie Spiering on December 19, which was headlined "Meet Ethan Krupp: Pajamacare boy and Organizing for Action employee."

That headline is misleading because it makes it seem as though the Washington Examiner was the first to reveal that Pajama Boy as Ethan Krupp. Was Charlie Spiering really unaware of previously published references to Ethan Krupp?

Charlie Spiering as Pajama Boy
Charlie Spiering probably likes hot cocoa, too.
Spiering never did tell us how he came to learn PajamaBoy's real name, which is a bit suspicious. Hard journalistic investigation? Diligent scouring of the Internet? Or did he learn it by reading Twitchy.com or some other website that named Krupp weeks before he "revealed" it?

As happens too often, other bloggers lazily reposted the Examiner piece without digging a little deeper. That spread the false impression that Krupp's name was not known until Dec. 19.

Could Saturday Night Live Have Saved Pajama Boy's Reputation? Maybe, But It's Too Late Now

Pajama Boy Ethan Krupp
Pajama Boy Ethan Krupp: Cocoa Puff
December 21, 2013 - Do I even need to explain who "Pajama Boy" is? He first appeared in early November, but the world was largely unaware of him until a few days ago. Suddenly, he became one of the hottest Internet memes and a favorite target of ridicule for conservative pundits.

"Pajama Boy"is a derogatory name that conservative pundits pinned on him. The actor's real name is Ethan Krupp, and he will forever be remembered as the dweeb in one-piece plaid pajamas, delicately clutching a cup of hot cocoa, in a piece produced by Organizing For America (OFA) for use by barackobama.com. There's a horrible video too (watch it below) in which Krupp portrays the same dweeby dude. His family is weirdly uncomfortable about having a frank discussion about getting health insurance.

Ethan Krupp is a 20-something grad of the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison. An aspiring actor, Krupp's career now seems suddenly aborted by the severe trashing he's gotten over the past few days. It's probably safe to say that Krupp has been forever typecast in our collective memory as a smirking little a-hole who has no idea what real life is about and wants to lecture you about how to live your own.

The decision to let himself become the new face of Obamacare has probably destroyed his acting career. With his world seeming to crumble all around him, there might have been one thing that could have saved young Ethan's tattered reputation: An appearance on Saturday Night Live on the night of December 21. Any later date beyond that will be too late to resurrect him. Nothing else can undo what Krupp has done to himself, which is to retreat from public scrutiny, go silent and hide in the shadows.

An appearance on SNL is not as far-fetched as you might think. Krupp is a student at The Second City improv theater group, which in turn is well connected to Saturday Night Live. Krupp was a student at The Second City in Chicago when the video was made. The mother in the video is portrayed by Kimmie Companik-Warner, an associate faculty member of The Second City Training Center. One wonders if anybody at The Second City tried to arrange for SNL to invite Krupp onto the show.

Imagine a sketch that spoofs the "Get ready to have the talk" video. Envision a skit in which a frustrated Pajama Boy sits at his computer going crazy because the Obamacare website won't let him sign up. Imagine a skit that features the wussy Krupp as a tough guy super hero, tongue-in-cheek of course.

The result might have allowed a nearly instant rehabilitation of Ethan Krupp. He would have shed the "Pajama Boy" stink and stuck it to all those mean conservative bully bloggers. He would have turned it around.

But Ethan Krupp is one of those guys who runs for cover the moment any criticism comes his way. He was an editor of the Madison Misnomer, a  "humor" rag that had no problem with ripping other people apart. Now it's Krupp being publicly ridiculed, and he can't take the heat. Rather than ride his sudden notoriety and play it for laughs and do some self-promotion, the spineless fool has the last several days scrubbing the Internet of any traces of himself that he can access. He deleted or locked his accounts at YouTube, Google Plus, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and more after he was outed as Pajama Boy. How could he think that would preserve his image, and that the world would not notice that all of his online presence suddenly disappeared?

Think of it another way. Suppose some actor makes a debut in a major film, and his looks and performance are widely ridiculed in the media. In reaction, that actor deletes all of his social media accounts and refuses to answer the phone. He just... disappears. What would you think of that actor? Well, that's what Krupp did.

In light of his cowardice, it is not reasonable to expect that Ethan Krupp would have accepted an invitation to mock himself on Saturday Night Live. The folks at SNL are risk takers, after all, but they know a chicken-shit loser when they see one and are not willing to take that kind of risk. The last thing they want is a sniveling amateur like Krupp to freeze up on stage or do something to mess up the show, which is broadcast live.

Sure, he might have appeared on SNL if they had asked him. Sure, someone there might have talked him back to his senses - what few senses he had. Only a self-absorbed fool with no sense would not have foreseen the reaction to the Obamacare ad and video. For an aspiring improv actor, Krupp seems oddly out of touch with who he is and how guys like him are perceived. He's learning that now, the hard way.

"Well, if Krupp can’t achieve fame," wrote Jim Treacher at Daily Caller, "infamy is the next best thing." Sure, but Krupp has achieved world-class dork infamy, and that's never good.

Post Script: Check out "SNL Script: Pajama Boy Meets Duck Dynasty," a speculative script for a Saturday Night Live skit posted at Free Republic.

A Feature-Length "Innocence of Muslims?" Get the Popcorn!

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula
Cecil B. Nakoula
June 10, 2013 - An exclusive Fox News story this afternoon says that jailed filmmaker Nakoula Basseley Nakoula says he will finish his controversial "Innocence of Muslims." Nakoula is also known as "Sam Bacile."

The video mocks the propeht Mohammed. It is badly produced, with horrible acting, horrible sound, horrible -- well, it's just thoroughly horrible. It's so bad, in fact, that it's good.

You might say it's the "Planet Nine From Outer Space" of movies about historical figures. Imagine the two together as a double feature. Plan Nine features some mindless, zombie-like characters who do bad things.

Plan Nine From Outer Space
Although Innocence of Muslims did upset a lot of Mohammed's faithful, it was virtually unknown before Comrade Leader Obama, Hillary Clinton and Susan Rice gave it worldwide publicity by falsely blaming the video for inciting the violent attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012, in which Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans died. They did so to deflect criticism of their own incompetence in the handling of what has become known as Benghazigate.

Don't take my word for it. White House spokesliar Jay Carney told reporters, "These protests were in reaction to a video." (Even the Egyptian government said the attack was an organized terrorist operation, and that the video was a total non-factor.)

Like the zombies in Plan Nine From Outer Space, the false attribution of the Benghazi attack to Innocence of the Muslims just keep walking around, arms outstretched, eyes blank. There are innumerable undead news reports lurking on the internet, and Obama's zombie-like followers still repeat the lie about the video. There is a remake of Plan Nine From Outer Space coming soon, by the way. Let's hope it doesn't spark attacks on any of our intergalactic outposts.

"Nakoula, who was thrust into the international spotlight — and then federal prison — after the White House wrongly blamed the 14-minute, amateurish trailer for the attack, says he has more than two hours of footage to complete the film, for which he hopes to find a distributor upon his release on Sept. 26," report Fox News.

"When asked if he believed his film was used as a scapegoat, or if he was unfairly prosecuted — charged with probation violations related to his film — Nakoula became tight-lipped," says Fox. Nakoula interviewed by Fox News in a series of phone calls "from a location he did not want disclosed."

"Nakoula Basseley Nakoula deserves a place in American history. He is the first person in this country jailed for violating Islamic anti-blasphemy laws," wrote Rich Miller for Politico on May 9. "You won’t find that anywhere in the charges against him, of course. As a practical matter, though, everyone knows that Nakoula wouldn’t be in jail today if he hadn’t produced a video crudely lampooning the prophet Muhammad."

The Pending Socialist Servitude Life of Julia

Life of Julia - A Fantasy
May 11, 2012 -  Comrade Supreme Leader Barack Obama's re-election campaign posted an incredible slide show of unabashed socialist propaganda on its website last week. Called "The Life of Julia," it claims to illustrate "how President Obama's policies help one woman over her lifetime—and how Mitt Romney would change her story."

Of course, Julia's life under Obama's policies is all hunky-dory and fairy tale-perfect. Under Romney, however, we are told that poor Julia might as well be doomed to a lifetime of working in a rice field with untreated chronic illnesses and festering whip scars on her back. Okay, I exaggerated a bit there, but Obama's information gurus clearly want us to believe that Julia - and, by extension, you - should depend upon Mother Government for help with everything in your life. Without that help, you and Julia would not be able to fend for yourselves because... well, because you're just too stupid and incapable. A more apt title for the slide show would be "The Life of Comrade Julia."

There is so much wrong with "The Life of Julia" that it is hard to know where to begin. For one thing, it is based entirely on absurd assumption and speculation. We begin to follow the life of the fictitious "Julia" at the age of three. The piece spans Julia's life from age three to age 67. The really disturbing thing is how Obama's propaganda goons chose to word this thing.

If Obama wins a second term, he would leave office in January of 2017. However, Julia's life is presented to us as though she will always live "under President Obama."

Creepy, and reminiscent of the of communist propaganda. By the time Julia is 67 years old, Obama should have been out of office, theoretically, for at least 60 years. Yet we are told that "Under President Obama: Julia retires. After years of contributing to Social Security, she receives monthly benefits that help her retire comfortably, without worrying that she'll run out of savings. This allows her to volunteer at a community garden."

Aside from the sad fact that Social Security will likely go bust 50 years before Julia's 67th birthday, and that her dream retirement will be limited to kibbutz-like work in the "community garden," it's rather creep to think that 60-some years from now Julia will still be living "Under President Obama" Is that a Freudian admission that Obama does not intend to relinquish the Oval Office?

There has been a lot of criticism of "The Life of Julia" - from both the Left and the Right.

Conservative author William J. Bennett rips the pipe dream saga of Julia. "Julia's happily-ever-after tale is remarkably void of reality," he wrote for CNN.com. "Nowhere in her fictional life is it mentioned that Head Start has done little, if anything, to improve elementary education, that she will likely graduate with $25,000 in student loan debt, that she has a 50% chance of being unemployed or underemployed after college, that Medicare and Social Security are headed toward insolvency, and that her share of the national debt is $50,000 and growing."

Over on the Left, the crew of MSNBC's "Morning Joe" pondered what the Obama campaign people were thinking. Willie Geist noted that "They did lob this up as a softball for Republicans, one conservative saying, 'Who the hell is Julia and why am i paying for her whole life?'"  Geist also said, "No one wants to think that from the age of three they are going to need the government to take care of them."

Attack of the AttackWatch Attackers! (With Video)

September 16, 2011 - Obama's new Orwellian snitch website, "AttackWatch.com," became a laughingstock of the Internet within hours of its debut earlier this week. Launched as a tool of Obama's 2012 re-election campaign, AttackWatch has become an instant public relations disaster for a president whose popular is already in the dumpster. Even a lot of liberals are mocking it, including the left-leaning Washington Post: "The Obama campaign has outdone itself again," wrote Alexandra Petri at the Post. "First the creepy tapping e-mails. Now this — Attack Watch , a site designed to 'Get the facts. Fight the smears . . . and help stop the attacks on the President before they start.'....Who designed your page interface? George Orwell?" Chicago News Bench jumped on the AttackWatch mockery early, attacking AttackWatch on Tuesday. We noted that used the same color scheme of the Third Reich - red, black and white. Team Obama also has a Twitter presence with @attackwatch, which is also being mocked by conservatives using the hash tag of #attackwatch. The mockery is coming in a constant barrage, from blogs and newspaper columnists to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The "AttackWatch" Facebook group was created by Michelle Ray, a libertarian woman, for the purpose of mocking Obama's website. AttackWatch.com is getting plenty of derision over at my own Middle Earth Tea Party group on Facebook, too. This video, below, is titled "Hitler Discovers ATTACKWATCH is a Joke!"
The following video was made in 2009, in response to a previous Obama effort to get people to snitch on each other by reporting them to flag@whitehouse.gov.

Obama's New Gestapo-like Website "AttackWatch.com" (Updated With Video)

Sept. 13, 2011 - Barack Obama is at it again: He wants you to snitch on anyone who is critical of him. (See video below.) In Obamaland, thinking and speaking freely is considered to be an offense. "AttackWatch.com" is a subpage of my.barackobama.com, which is produced by Obama For America. There, Americans are asked to report "smears" against Obama. In other words, to report people for exercising their right to free speech, free thought and, yes, the right to utter incorrect statements about politicians. We've seen this before from the White House. In 2009, Obama's propagandists asked Americans to narc on anybody who criticized Obama's proposed health care legislation: "If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov." The Gestapo would admire Obama's clever use of the Internet, which can be much more efficient than knocking on doors at three in the morning. But, again, to keep my liberal friends from wetting their pants, I repeat that Obama is no Hitler. Actually, Obama is more like Benito Mussolini in the early days of his rule of Italy. Remember Linda Douglas, sitting at her White House computer, complaining that "facts are stubborn things?" At that time, an uproar of indignation went up across America. Typical of that reaction was this from The Freedom Medium: "And now this administration wants you to drop a dime on anyone who says something against their agenda? What's next, swastikas?" That was August, 2009. Two years later, we're seeing it again. No swastikas, of course, but the same Third Reich stench of thought and speech intimidation. Back in early 2008, when unaccomplished Illinois State Senator Barack Obama was still running for President, some people called him a fascist. Some still do, of course, and they are laughed at an mocked just as they were in 2008. Perhaps, however, they are mocked a bit less in late 2011, however, for we have seen for ourselves that Obama has indeed displayed some fascist behavior. Keep in mind that "fascist" does not necessarily mean "Nazi," and I am in no way saying that Obama is a genocidal lunatic a la Hitler. Jonah Goldberg's book "Liberal Fascism" showed us how modern U.S. "progressives" are the true heirs to the European fascists. Goldberg himself said, "I reject entirely the idea that liberals today are literally Nazi-like, particularly if we are going to define Nazism by what 'they were known for.' Liberals don’t want to invade Poland or round up Jews." No, but I know plenty of them who would round up "the bankers" and "the rich." A scapegoat by any other name is still a scapegoat. Obama seems to like some modern Gestapo-lite tactics, however. To wit, that new website of his. It asks people to "Get the facts. Fight the smears." How can people "fight the smears?" Simple: Snitch on friends, coworkers, neighbors, and anybody else who you repeats a rumor or forwards an email that is critical of Obama. Is it just coincidence that the color scheme of "AttackWatch.com" is black, red and white -- the colors of the Nazi flag? Let's hope so, but I have a dark feeling that there was something Freudian going on in the head of the page's designer. Don't forget to report this post to AttackWatch.com.

Texas Board of Ed Decision Impact Will Be Minimal

Will American school children now be saved from textbooks filled with Leftist propaganda? Maybe, sort of, little by little, for a while anyway. Don't be overly optimistic about this news. Last night, the Texas Board of Education made a historically significant decision. Robert Moon reports at Examiner.com: In a stunning break from the standard public "education" protocol of relentlessly brow-beating children with leftist misinformation against America, white people and Christianity, Texas has forced the textbook industry to start including multiple sides of the story. Through intense negotiations and petty partisan bickering, the Texas Board of Education (which has a huge influence over how textbooks are written in the U.S.) has reversed the trend of erasing our Founding Fathers from the curriculum--a core part of the leftist agenda... The Texas text book decision, however, will have minimal immediate impact nationwide. Even as the Texas Board of Education was meeting yesterday, there was a communist indoctrination happening on a Chicago Community Colleges (CCC) campus. The "Social Justice Student Expo" was a brazen display of communist and socialist propagandizing and youth recruitment by the far Left, with the full blessings and accomodations of the CCC. Grade schoolers, high schoolers and college students were encouraged to attend. So while it's nice that some text books will be brought back from the Leftist clutches, the real problem remains: Leftist teachers and professors will continue to spew their Leftist ideology in classrooms. Events like the "Social Justice Student Expo" will continue. The film and music industries will keep putting out Leftist messages. After decades of Leftist propagandizing in public schools and universities, there are already many millions of Americans whose political sympathies are closer to Mao and Stalin than to Jefferson and Franklin. The Texas Board of Education decision of May 20, 2010 is something to celebrate, but it isn't big enough to merit opening the champagne.

Where Were The Racial Epithats?

Nowhere, that's where. There weren't any. Democrats lied and continue to lie about the spitting and name calling by Tea Partiers on the steps of the US Capitol in March. "The left has been using race-based agitprop for a century," wrote the poster of this video, "The media conspiracy that emerged from the Capitol Hill protest on the Obamacare vote is a classic case of the same."

Comrade Obama's Socialist Celebration, April 3

The following email was blasted out by Comrade Barack Obama's propaganda machine, Organizing For Amerika (OFA). Dear Leader Barack wants all of you to spontaneously jump for joy and squeal like communist pigs on Saturday, April 3 to celebrate his regime's success in throwing the nation under the socialist bus. The email is signed by Jeremy Bird, OFA's Deputy Director. He says that the event, which will happen in cities nationwide, is to thank OFA volunteers for all their hard work to help the Democrats nationalize health care. Bird, however, forgot to include a free drink coupon. Thanks for all your hard work, comrades, now go buy yourselves some drinks! There is no word yet if any Coffee Parties will spontaneously host their own celebrations (but they're too busy doing nothing while they try to figure out what the Coffee Party's mission really is). Here's that email:

This past week, we saw what change looks like. And now, it's time to celebrate.

After a year of non-stop work from OFA volunteers like you -- reaching out to friends and neighbors; going to countless phone banks, town halls, canvasses, and rallies; placing millions of calls and emails to Congress; and so much more -- health care reform is now the law of the land.

Congratulations on making history -- and thank you!
To celebrate the biggest legislative accomplishment in generations, OFA is holding health reform celebration events across the country -- and there's one near you in Chicago on Saturday, April 3rd.

Can you join us, to celebrate this amazing achievement? Here are the details:

What: Health Reform Celebration Event
Where: [Joey's Brickhouse] 1258 W. Belmont, Chicago, IL 60657 [MAP]
When: Saturday, April 3rd
Start Time: 8:00 PM

OFA volunteers and staff will get together to talk about what we just did, and we'll watch a video that some folks here are finishing up now.

We've all worked hard, and there's more hard work to do. But sometimes, we all deserve a moment to just kick back, enjoy what we've accomplished, and appreciate the people we accomplished it with.

I hope you can join us in Chicago on the 3rd. RSVP here.

This was a long, hard fight. Thanks for being there to the finish, and for making it happen.

OFA's Astroturf Health Care Phone Banks

Oh, looky what Barack Obama - uh, I mean Organizing For America (OFA) - sent me. The same bastards - uh, I mean Democrats - who accuse opponents of government controlled, socialist healthcare of astroturfing continue to lay astroturf across the nation. Here's an email that I received on Monday, which talks about a "Health Care Phone Bank" in Chicago suburb Evanston. Of course, emails will be tailored to tout local phone banks depending on recipients' zip codes. Here's the letter from Barack OFAma. I mean Obama. Uh, I mean OFA. Same thing, really. Why bother with the phone banks, though? Now that thousands of ACORN thugs will not be doing Census work, perhaps Obama/OFA could pay each of them a living wage to pick up the phone and harangue people. From: "Dave Seman, IL.BarackObama.com" Monday, September 14, 2009 Tom -- With Congress back in session, we're now entering the final sprint towards reform, and we need to do everything we can to help pass the President's Plan for Health Reform. So this week and next, Organizing for America volunteers are holding phone banks in Evanston to build local support and get out the facts about health insurance reform. Will you sign up to join a Health Care Phone Bank? We'll be holding phone banks in Evanston asking folks to support President Obama's Plan for Health Reform, and to make their voices heard in this debate. No prior experience is necessary. Organizing for America volunteers will be on hand to provide all the materials and guidance you'll need to be successful. As President Obama wrote recently, "We didn't win last year's election together at a committee hearing in D.C. We won it on the doorsteps and the phone lines, at the softball games and the town meetings, and in every part of this great country where people gather to talk about what matters most." And that's exactly how we'll win this fight for real health reform. RSVP here Hope to see you there, Dave Dave Seman Illinois State Director Organizing for America Here's something Dave left out of his email. "We're not looking for a fight. That will come later, when we have an army." Cool Hats & Shirts for Cool Conservatives Leave a Comment... Chicago News Bench RSS Feed We're on Twitter...

Obama's School Speech and the Cult of Personality

Watch recorded video of the Obama School Speech HERE (below). I watched Barack Obama's speech to school kids today. It was bland. It was boring. After much public outcry, the part where he was to ask kids to help him was removed. The final version was pretty tame, and the outcry was, well, somewhat overblown. However, I had at least four problems with the speech: Problem #1: Rock Star Intro The speech opened with Sec. of Education Arne Duncan introducing some kid who then introduced Obama. The problem with that is the rock star nature of the presentation. Rather than give the boring, bland speech from his desk, the White House felt it necessary to have a rousing introduction with a roomful of vetted friendlies giving him a rousing ovation. Now, that's clever politics. It is also inappropriate to the stated intention of the speech. Problem #2: Cult of Personality The White House knew exactly what they were doing when they set up Obama's rock star reception. The subliminal message to the kids - especially those who will be old enough to vote in 2012, is simple: Barack Obama is your Great Father. Der Uber Fater. Your Hero. Your Great Leader. A pop icon. Why else would the White House have not done the traditional address from the quiet Oval Office? Problem #3: Overblown Production Obama presented a very tame motivational speech kids, which could more easily (and less expensively) have been done from the Oval Office in the White House. Instead, Obama had to travel to Wakefield High School in nearby Arlington, Virginia. That required the usual heavy Secret Service details, a lot of security advance work, setting up a remote video production operation, local police work, and streets tied up for the motorcade. All that bother and expense to tell kids what kids should be told by their teachers and parents every day. Problem #4: The Entire Speech Was Hypocritical Actually, this is not a problem, per se. It does, however, show us the hypocrisy of Obama and of the Democrat Party. In his speech, Obama repeatedly told school kids to be responsible, to work hard, to never give up, to be self-reliant. Nice words, which I agree with, but none of those values are encouraged by the Obama or the Democrats in deed. Ever since the New Deal of President Franklin Roosevelt, Americans have been told more and more that they are entitled to government care and coddling. Many of the kids who watched the speech today were born into an entitlement subculture, created and nurtured by the Democrats, that conditions them to expect free government cheese every day of their lives. I had to chuckle many times as the most radical Leftist ever to sit in the Oval Office presented a very conservative message of self-reliance and hard work, and he did it with a straight face. Barack Obama Likes Them Young

Barack Obama plans to deliver an Orwellian speech to school children across the nation on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 12:00 Noon, Eastern time (see Obama's Speech to School Kidz). An important editorial from The Washington Times discusses widely held concerns about Barack Obama's plan to electronically invade schoolrooms next Tuesday, Sept. 8. President Obama's planned address to America's schoolchildren on Sept. 8 is generating a firestorm of controversy from concerned parents who think he should mind his own business and stay away from their children. It's easy to see why. Oh? And why's that? According to an Aug. 26 letter from Education Secretary Arne Duncan to school principals, the president wants to "challenge students to work hard, set educational goals and take responsibility for their learning." He also will call for "shared responsibility and commitment on the part of students, parents and educators to ensure that every child in every school receives the best education possible." "Children must attend school, whether their parents like it or not; for they belong to the state more than to their parents." ~ Plato
"Give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man.” ~ Francis Xavier (Jesuit)
An equally valuable column "Indoctrination: Get ‘Em While They’re Young," appears today at oregoncatalyst.com. It starts off with this: Why should you care that the President will be addressing your children Monday? Simple: The content of the speech is being kept secret. When someone wants to talk to your children, but won’t tell you, the parents, what it’s about, sirens and alarm bells should be going off in your head. Whether you are for or against the President’s agenda, this should scare the hell out of you. After all, don’t we constantly warn our children that if any adult tells them not to tell their parents about something, they MUST tell their parents immediately? Obama's Speech to School Kidz

Barack Obama plans to deliver an Orwellian speech to school children across the nation on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 12:00 Noon (Eastern time), but has already backed down on parts of his presentation. Obama's speech will not be televised. Instead, it will be streamed live on the Internet at the Whitehouse website. This means that you, homeschoolers, or anybody can watch it. (More about the home schooling aspect at Examiner.com.) School districts across the country are discussing possible bans of the speech from classrooms, due in part to objections from parents who do not want their kids to be indoctrinated against their will. In fact, the wave of objection to the in-classrooms speech has been so strong that Obama's handlers rewrote part of it. The Dallas Morning News reports today (Sept. 3): The change comes as at least one more Dallas-Fort Worth school district decided Thursday morning not to show the speech. Meanwhile, two Congressmen have urged the Obama administration to release an early transcript of his Tuesday speech, which officials say is meant to underscore the importance of education. Many school districts around Texas and the country said today that they plan to decide soon if and how they will show the speech. ... AZ Family reports today that Arizona's Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne, Republican (photo), has reservations about allowing the speech to be shown in school rooms. In a Sept. 3 news release from the Arizona Dept of Education, Horne is quoted as saying this: “An important part of educating students is to teach them to read and listen critically. The White House materials call for a worshipful, rather than critical approach to this speech. For example, the White House communication calls for the students to have “notable quotes excerpted (and posted in large print on the board),” and for the students to discuss “How will he inspire us,” among other things. There is nothing in these White House materials about approaching the speech critically, or engaging in any critical thinking whatsoever, but only adopting a reverent approach to everything they are being told.” (You can read the entire news release (PDF) here.) Michelle Malkins posts today about an alternative being offered to parents, courtesy of the National Tea Party Coalition. The NTPC's web site says it is asking that "schools who choose to participate in the president’s September 8th program offer an alternative to students and families who do not wish to view, or have their children view, a partisan address or participate in activities that did not follow proper educational protocol or obtain parental consent." Strategy Meeting With the President (I'm invited!)

I received the following email on August 18. It's from David Plouffe, who was Barack Obama's campaign manager in the 2008 election. These days, Plouffe is shilling for Organizing for America (OFA). I prefer to call it "Organizing for American Liberals (OFAL)." Would somebody please tell Plouffe that the election is over? And am I the only one who is disgusted by the blatant and frequent requests for donations to a partisan political action group from the President of the United States? (The following is a reproduction; all emphasis is theirs, not mine.) From: "David Plouffe, BarackObama.com" Tom -- President Obama is holding a live strategy meeting on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time for all Organizing for America supporters. I hope you can join us, online or by phone. The President will update us on the fight to pass real health insurance reform -- what's happening in D.C. and what's happening around the country. He'll lay out our strategy and message going forward and answer questions from supporters like you. And we'll unveil the next actions we'll organize together. This is a critical time in this President's administration, and in the history of our country. I hope you can join us. Here are the details: What: Organizing for America National Health Care Forum When: Thursday, August 20th, 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time RSVP and submit a question for the President. The President wrote to us a few weeks ago to ask us to go the extra mile this month in the fight for health insurance reform. And so far, you've stepped up in a big way: Last week, an astounding 60,000 Organizing for America volunteers stopped by representatives' and senators' local offices. You told your health care stories to staffers and members of Congress -- of losing insurance after getting laid off, of being denied coverage upon finding out about a serious illness. And you thanked those supporting real health insurance reform for all the work they've done so far. But these local office visits were only part of the story. The D.C. media has been trumpeting coverage of town halls disrupted by angry opposition to reform. But the reality on the ground is very different. Organizing for America supporters are showing up in huge numbers at these meetings all across the country -- outnumbering opponents of reform, often by overwhelming margins. You've organized 11,906 local events in all 50 states -- from press conferences to community discussions -- since we launched our big campaign for reform in June. And you've made hundreds of thousands of calls to Congress. Your work so far has been incredible. But the special interests and partisan attack groups who oppose reform will not let up, and they will tell whatever lies they can to spread fear. There's a lot more work for all of us to do. This Thursday's meeting is our chance to huddle as a team, get the latest information and talk about how we're going to achieve this victory. You don't want to miss it. Report Obama to His Own Gestapo

Obama's Thought Police Unleashed... Barack Obama, wants you to turn in anyone you know of who is saying bad things about his health insurance reform. Does that sound American to you? Or does it sound a little bit like something that Hermann Göring would admire? After all, as Hitler's commander of the Geheime Staatspolizei (Gestapo), Göring would have approved of such tactics. But there is a great twist to this story, which we'll get into momentarily. White House actually had the cajones to put this on their "Briefing Room" blog (with emphasis added), in a post titled "Facts Are Stubborn Things": There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov. Okay, here's the twist. YOU are urged to turn in Barack Obama for the same offense for which he wants you to turn in others. Credit for this goes to Adam Bitely's NetRight Nation Blog, which advises us to turn the tables on Obama by reporting him for "not telling the truth on Health Care." Bitely says, "Let's try and flood that inbox with as many reports about Obama and his minions attempting to deceive the public as possible." The White House's blog post includes a creepy video featuring Linda Douglass, a propaganda expert who hold the post of communications director for the White House’s Health Reform Office. In the creepy video, Douglass "addresses one example" of "fishy" statements about health care reform. As the video progresses, you can imagine her morphing into Josef Geobbels, Hitler's Propaganda Leader. Imagine this: You get an email from a neighbor, a co-worker, a family member that addresses health insurance reform. Perhaps they say something to you on the street, over coffee, wherever. If your friend/neighbor/family member says or writes something "fishy," something that doesn't sound quite right, about health insurance reform, you are asked by the President of the United States to turn them in by contacting the White House. This is not only un-American, it's illogical and inefficent. Why limit this Gestapo-like action to health care reform? Why not ask all the good little Change Nazis out there to report emails and conversations in which something "fishy" is said about any of Obama's pet programs? Wouldn't that just make more sense? In a Hitlerian kind of way, that is? Consider this: If Obama's Ministry of Speech and Thought Control think that flag@whitehouse.gov has "worked," what's to prevent them from going all out and asking Americans to narc each other out for the slightest outburst of criticism of the Chosen One? I assume that Obama's deaf, dumb and blind followers still retain their sense of smell, but will they notice the incredible stench of the flag@whitehouse.gov speech-intimidation initiative? We can only hope so.
