Abortion Kills More Black Americans Than The KKK

Walter Hoye
May 15, 2013 - The nightmarish revelations about abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell's clinic, called a "house of horrors," shook up a lot of people. Gosnell was convicted of first degree murder earlier this week for the deaths of babies born at his Philadelphia clinic.

A lot of people on the Left dismiss the Gosnell case as an aberration. It's an unusual case, they say. They continue to shrug off the reality of the abortion holocaust. Whether or not an abortion clinic is "following the rules," the fact remains that unborn children are being slaughtered daily. Few on the Left  think of abortion as murder; many don't consider an unborn person to be a person. But if were you put it to them this way, they might reconsider: Abortion is the biggest single killer of Black Americans. Bigger than the Ku Klux Klan, as we are reminded by Walter Hoye, founder and president of the Issues4Life Foundation.

Excerpts from the CNS News article:
Over 86 years, the Ku Klux Klan lynched 3,446 blacks – a figure matched in less than four days if tallying the number of black babies who are aborted.
Walter Hoye, founder and president of the Issues4Life Foundation, shared those statistics at a press conference on Tuesday where black clergy and other leaders gathered in response to the guilty verdict in the trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell, who was convicted of murdering three newborn babies.
“Right now to give some of us just a perspective of the impact of abortion on demand in the black community, according to the archives of the Tuskegee Institute, from 1882 to 1968 – 86 years – the Ku Klux Klan lynched 3,446 Negroes,” Hoye said. “While it took the Klan 86 years to accomplish this, abortion on demand in America accomplishes that is less than 4 days.”
Hoye's numbers are based on the Guttmacher Institute's fact sheet on induced abortion in the United States. That fact feet shows that in 2008, 2.1 million abortions were performed in the U.S. Of those, 432,000 of those abortions were performed on black women. Using those figures, in three days 3,550 black babies were aborted. In four days, the total would be 4,734 aborted black babies.
Hoye said that over 20 million of the more than 50 million abortions that have taken place since the Supreme Court Roe v. Wade ruling legalized the procedure are performed on black women.
“Since 1973, abortion on demand in black America has taken more lives than homicides, heart disease, diabetes, cancer and HIV/AIDS combined and has become the No. 1 cause of death in the black community,” Hoye said.  Full article...

Black Conservative Says Black Liberals Racist If They Voted For Obama Just Because He's Black

That guy is the great patriot Kevin Jackson. The title of this video is "Racists That They Are, Blacks Voted For Obama Because He's Black, Not Because He's Qualified." Got that? Good. Now watch the video. Read more about Kevin Jackson, and check out his own great web site, "The Black Sphere."

Black Guy Examines Black Loyalty to Democrats (Video)

Macho Sauce Productions pulls no punches in yet another great political video. I dare Democrats and Liberals to call this guy a racist.

Is Arizona's New Immigration Law Racist? Ask These People...

Comrade Obama needs to watch these videos. The first one was filmed in L.A., where "ethnic-cleansing" murders of blacks by hispanic gangs is underway. The second one is part 1 of a 5-part documentary about the violent turf wars between Black and Latino gangs in L.A.

Putting the Lie to Tea Party Racism

Is the Tea Party movement made up of a bunch of white supremicists? Is racism the driving force behind it? This video, below, was made on April 15, 2010 in Freedom Plaza and at the Washington Monument in Washington D.C. by Nathanial Alexander Stuart.  He wrote a short piece for BigJournalism.com, titled "Tea Party Racism??"

To quote from Stuart's piece, "On March 27, 2010 writer Frank Rich was quoted in the New York Times Op-Ed section The Tea Party movement is virtually all white....Many media outlets, including MSNBC, the Washington Post, CNN, the San Francisco Chronicle, and the Huffington Post among others are insinuating that there is racism in the Tea Party movement."

Not a "Minstrel Show"
Meanwhile, we'll continue to have Black Racists like the overly smug Charles Blow, who willingly enslave themselves to Sugar Daddy Democrats, willing to make racists comments about fellow African-Americans. Blow, a "visual Op-Ed columnist" at the New York Times, accused Black Tea Partiers of being nothing more that "a minstrel show." Apparently, Blow is shocked by the sight of fellow Blacks thinking independently and daring to leave the Democrat-Liberal Plantation. Radio talk show host Laura Ingraham interviewed Blow and had him spinning in his own pretzel logic.

Powerful Video "The Tea Party. Are these people racist?"

Contrary to the hateful propaganda of the Left, the Tea Party is neither racist nor exclusively white.

Black History Month is No Time to Party

Star Parker, founder and president of the Coalition for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE), writes that it is "time for a new generation of Black Americans." What does she mean by that? "Studies show that it’s family and education that produces success in America. Income correlates with education and education correlates with family background," she explains, and then goes on to write a hard-hitting column that calls out irresponsible parents and those who look to Government for salvation. Black History Month 2010 is not a great time for a party. Unemployment at almost 10%, and well over 16% among blacks, doesn’t make for much of a festive mood. But if the mood is not festive, shouldn’t it be reflective? Certainly, there’s reason for pride in black achievement in the forty plus years since the Civil Rights movement. We’ve now got a couple black billionaires and a black president. The percentage of blacks with college degrees is three times greater now than in 1970. But black household income is still just 62% of white households. And the black poverty rate, at twice the national average, has hardly budged since the late 1960’s. Blacks should be asking hard questions when, over this period of time, many immigrants from different backgrounds have come to this country with little and moved into the middle class in one generation. The accumulation of considerable black political power – black mayors, governors, a 42 member Black Congressional Caucus, and now a black president - has made hardly a difference. It should be clear that black economic distress is not a political problem. Studies show that it’s family and education that produces success in America. Income correlates with education and education correlates with family background. Now consider that in 1970, 62% of black women were married compared to 33% today. In 1970, 74% of black men were married, compared to 44% today. Or that in 1970, 5% of black mothers were never married compared to 41% today. The Civil Rights movement was, of course, a religiously inspired and led movement. It made liberal use of the biblical imagery of the Exodus of the Israelite slaves from Egypt. Taylor Branch called his trilogy about Dr. King and the movement he led “Parting of the Waters”, “Pillar of Fire”, and “At Canaan’s Edge.” To the misfortune of blacks who put great hope in the redemptive powers of that movement, their leaders prematurely closed their bibles. The story of the liberation of the Israelite slaves did not end with their release from their Egyptian taskmasters. That was the beginning. They then proceeded to the mountain in the wilderness to receive the law to take with them and live by in the Promised Land. When it was clear that the former Egyptian slaves were not up to the task, they were condemned to wander for forty years in the wilderness so that a new generation would arise, enter the land, and build the nation. Let’s recall that the law they received was about family (honor your parents), about property and ownership (thou shalt not steal), and about being concerned about building your own and not what your neighbor has (thou shalt not covet). Rather than seeking redemption through this law, post-Civil Rights movement black leaders sought redemption in politics. The welfare state, entitlements, transfer payments, and the politics of differences and envy. Should we be surprised by the result? The New York Times recently reported that from 2004 to 2008, the political and charitable arms of the Congressional Black Caucus raised more than $55 million from corporations and unions. According to the Times, most of these funds were “spent on elaborate conventions…a headquarters building, golf outings,…and an annual visit to a Mississippi casino resort.” More was spent on the caterer for the Caucus’s Foundation annual dinner - $700,000 – than it gave out in scholarships. It’s now over forty years since the Civil Right movement. Enough wandering in the wilderness. It’s time for a new generation of black Americans to step forward. A generation to turn to the truths that will rebuild black lives, black families, and lead blacks to the freedom that Dr. King and all blacks have dreamed about. Quinn, Hynes Vie for 'Church Clown' Title

By Michael Coyne This past Sunday, January 31, the two Democratic primary candidates for Illinois Governor—Pat Quinn and Dan Hynes—spent the day courting a crucial part of any Democrat’s electoral strategy: the Black Vote. African-Americans break heavily for Democrats according to all polling data available in recent history. Therefore, it is no surprise that both Quinn and Hynes were relying on this critical group to break for them. What is amusing is the fact that they both spent their Sundays in prominent black churches on Chicago’s South Side. Trying to be ‘relatable’ Taking this move at face value and ignoring the religious aspect for a moment, it makes sense, in an ironic humor sort of way. Politicians have to go where the voters are, and, in this case, they were at church. The message of both campaigners was simply, “see, I’m just like you.” This, in itself, is riotous. Two men, who would be remarkably white even if they stood next to the population of Sweden, were jockeying for the black vote by going to a massive black church. No, they did not stand out at all. Dopey PC Stigma When did it become such a crime to be white? Yes, the president is black. I honestly could not care less what color a politician’s skin is, so much as proving that we believe in the same political ideals. It sometimes seems like conservatives are the only ones who actually want to stop using race as a yardstick for successes and failures. Truthfully, I would think substantially less of a politician who came to my church to grasp at votes, regardless of what color he or she was. HWJV? – How Would Jesus Vote? Yes, it is common for Democratic candidates to attend churches to stump for votes. Nevertheless, it is absurd. It is incomprehensible to me that the same party that detests any sort of religious expression in public is completely fine with desecrating a house of God by using it to shill for votes. I could even justify standing outside a church, temple, or mosque to pass out literature as people left. However, attending a service merely to be seen is unsettling. This is little more than a parable of how far today’s political situation has gone. For more conservative commentary, visit Michael Coyne’s RepublicanBlue. Why You Should Hate the Hate Crimes Prevention Act

Star Parker rips into the hypocrisy and legal flaws of the new "Hate Crimes Prevention Act," which Barack Obama signed on October 28. Parker (photos) is a favorite columnist around here. She is the founder and president of CURE, the Coalition for Urban Renewal & Education, a 501c3 non-profit think tank that provides a national voice of reason on issues of race and poverty in the media, inner city neighborhoods, and public policy. Here is her Nov. 2 column, "New hate crimes law is a mistake." President Barack Obama has signed into law the Hate Crimes Prevention Act. Actually, he signed into law the 2010 National Defense Authorization Act tacked onto which was the hate crimes legislation. Sen. Harry Reid, our brave Democratic majority leader, slipped the hate crimes bill into the defense authorization bill to avoid having to have our senators consider the controversial hate crimes bill on its own. It's for good reason that our Democratic legislators wanted to hide under a rock while passing this terrible piece of legislation. It may help them with the far left wing of their party. But weakening and damaging our country is not something to be proud of. And that is exactly what this new hate crime law does. The bill adds extra penalties to violent crimes when they are deemed motivated by gender, sexual orientation, or disabilities. It's the first major expansion of hate crimes legislation originally passed in 1968, targeted then to crimes aimed at race, color, religion, and national origin. After signing this new law, Obama celebrated it by saying that in this nation we should "embrace our differences." But law isn't about embracing our differences. It is about providing equal and non-arbitrary protection to all citizens. Equal protection for every individual American under the law is what the 14th Amendment to our Constitution, passed after the Civil War, guarantees. That this nation takes this guarantee seriously -- that there are no classes of individuals treated differently under the law -- has been a justifiable obsession of blacks. A society in which all life is not valued the same, where murder of one citizen is not the same as the murder of another citizen, is a horror that black Americans have known too well. So it is a particular irony that this major expansion of the politicization of our law has been signed by our first black president. What could it possibly mean that the penalty for the same act of violence -- for murder -- may be different depending on what might be deemed to be the motivation? Can you imagine a football game where the penalty for roughing the passer is 20 yards rather than 15 yards if the referee concludes that the violence perpetrated was motivated because the quarterback was homosexual? Is it not a sign of our own pathology that we now have codified that it is worse to murder a homosexual than someone who has committed adultery, even with your husband or wife, or who has slandered or robbed? Isn't the point murder? Can we really believe that someone capable of murder is less likely to do so if the victim is a homosexual and the penalties are greater? It should be clear that hate crime law has nothing to do with improving our law but rather with creating favored political classes. It is something that should be hateful to everyone who cares about a free society, and particularly hateful to those, such as blacks, who have been victimized by politicization of law. How about the sad and pathetic recent murder of a 16-year-old Christian black honor student in Chicago by four teenage thugs, also black? A hate crime? Black on black homicides are tearing up our inner cities. Hate crimes? The social breakdown that produces the disproportionate violence in black America is the product of the same moral relativism and politicization of law that has produced hate crime bills. We already have a source, which instructs against murder and to love your neighbor as yourself. But this has been banned from our schools and our public spaces. So once again, in what is becoming our Godless nation, we mistake the disease for the cure. More Articles from Star Parker: The Health Care Fatal Conceit We can expect the same results from government taking over health care as we've gotten from housing socialism. Al Sharpton, today's Orval Faubus Sharpton blocked Limbaugh like Governor Orval Faubus tried to block black children from entering Central High in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1957. Consumers need protection -- from government 700 of 1600 payday loan offices in Ohio have closed. Outrage over ACORN, but not abortion A great lie has found its way into our national culture -- a lie that has deadened our senses -- that we can contend with life's challenges in a morally relative way. Communities Must Take Responsibility for Own Violence

This is powerful, and pleasantly surprising. CNN's Anderson Cooper gets an earful from Steve Perry, a CNN Education Contributor, as they discuss the violence that plagues Chicago's neighborhoods. Perry, to his credit, is no sycophant to the Jessie Jacksons and Al Sharptons who believe that government and more money is the solution to violence. "The community has to begin to take full responsibility for the circumstances that are taking place within the community," Perry tells Cooper. Amen, brother, the truth shall set you free. "If I Were a Klan Member, I Would Retire..."

A few readers left comments about my recent post, "Derrion Albert, Killed by KKK Surrogates," in which I said that his brutal killers might as well have been Ku Klux Klan members. "Worried about the KKK?" I wrote, "They're certainly a group that needs to be monitored, but these days they've got it easy. Unwitting surrogates do the killing for them, accomplishing more evil and mayhem in a single drunken Uptown weekend than the Klan ever could. The far bigger worry for Black Americans these days, however, is the black kid walking next to you on the playground. He's more likely to kill you than are the 100 or so Klansmen in your state."

"Trpy" in Santa Ana, CA understood my points. He wrote:

"As an African American, I must say that was the best article I have read. If I were a Klan member, I would retire from active duty and just watch from the side lines."

"TH," on the other hand, misunderstood my clearly stated points, and wrote this:

In MY opinion I really don't approve on how this article was written (see http://rogersparkbench.blogspot.com/2009/09/derrion-albert-killed-by-kkk-surrogates.html. Yes its true black senseless kids killed Derrion Albert and yes blacks are constantly killing blacks which is sad and sickening. But let's talk about the whites killing the whites and the hispanics killing the hispanics. REALITY it's just a people killing people. Now and days there is no race that is better than the next. There is crack/heroin addicts, prostitutes, rapist, Drug Dealers, Killers, and abusers in every race that lives in the USA so who are you to talk down on blacks. It seems the media tries to brain wash blacks into believing that they are never goning to amount to nothing.

My response to TH:

Believe it or not, TH, you actually agree with much of what I wrote, but you missed part of the point. People are people, yes. I mourn the loss of that young black man, Derrion Albert. What you say about bad people being in every group (racial, ethnic, etc.) is true, my point is that people like Jesse Jackson Sr and others are wrong to constantly demonize whites by way of exaggerating the actual current impact of the Klan. ("Klan" for Jackson is code for "whitey.") Many, many Black Americans acknowledge the severe problem of blacks killing blacks, moreso than within any other group. That doesn't mean that black people are inferior; it means that there is something wrong with much of their culture. 70-90 percent of black children born to single mothers, for example. The unwillingness to "snitch" by many [Black Americans] on killers and drug pushers, for example. I was not talking down on blacks, TH. I was talking down on the Jesse Jacksons who don't address the real problems in preference for passing the buck, and not admitting that more blacks are killed by blacks than are killed by the KKK currently.

Michael Kerr, Director of Business Development at Red County, understood the article. I cross posted it to Red County, but Michael was oddly frightened by what I wrote:

"I wanted to give you a heads up regarding your last article. It was unpublished. I recognize the point of your article but we think that some people might use the KKK reference and try and misconstrue the point you are making. You might want to tackle that one from a little different angle. Lots of bozos on the left are always looking to try and paint conservative bloggers as racist and we thought the KKK reference might be something they would latch on to."

My response to Michael Kerr:

I find the stand taken by Red County to be cowardly, very disturbing and rather hypocritical. You say you are afraid of a reference to the KKK? Seriously? That's absurd, particularly so given the numerous references to "KKK" at redcounty.com (Google search for "KKK" at redcounty.com at http://bit.ly/VCLcW.) The stand taken in you remail seems ludicrous in light of past posts, especially one with the title "Abortion/Eugenics: Progressive Berkeley minister denounces ‘genocide’" by Andrew Walden on 07/15/09. I can no longer associate myself with Red County, since it seems that it now wants to be politically correct. If so, perhaps Red County could just be a republishing aggregator for Huffington Post. Please remove me from the list of Red County contributors.

As a post-script to Michael Kerr, let me repeat the kind comment from "Trpy":
"As an African American, I must say that was the best article I have read."

Red County, a "conservative" web site, claims to "strive" to "provide intelligent, well-informed insights into local political issues affecting the lives of readers in each market we serve."  Red County doesn't specify cowardice and an inconsistent adherence to political correctness as part of what it strives for, but those would fit nicely into their mission statement.

African-American No More

One of the most powerful blog posts you'll ever read discusses the term "African-American." An excerpt: The classification of African American for the black population in America came as a result of the civil rights movement in the 1960. This reclassification held several proclamations and principles to which I can no longer identify with as a citizen of this country. The term African American was created to signify the black American’s love for Africa, the once held motherland for which we were all suppose to long to return too. This title holds anti-American sentiments to which I can not embrace. (Full post...) So writes "ConservativeLikeNoOther," a mother and an American who happens to be black. Before you Liberal nutjobs choke on your own spittle while screaming "racism!" or accusing this woman of being "self-loathing," remember that her attitude about hyphenated nationality is not a racial matter. It is a matter of nationality, not race. For example, very, very few whites refer to themselves as "European-Americans" for reasons virtually identical to the writer of the post. As a white person born in America, I feel no allegiance to Europe. I have no desire to return to the "homeland" in Europe, for America is my homeland. Even most immigrants to the US feel this way; their allegiance is voluntarily to the US, and most are grateful to be here. Another excerpt: It is obvious that the classification of African American has nothing to do with those born of African descent. It is a radical group of black American who hold to the anti-American views of those shared by Jeremiah Wright, Professor Gates, Jesse Jackson, President Obama and many more who have come out of the radical civil rights movement of the 1960’s. Because of these things I now part ways with the classification of African American because I hold no allegiance to Africa. Why should she have allegiance to Africa? She was not born there, and Africa has done nothing for her - or her family - lately. She's an American. We're glad she is, too. Cool Hats & Shirts for Cool Conservatives Leave a Comment... Mary Mitchell, Posse Comitatus and Black on Black Love

The Posse Comitatus Act - Prohibits search, seizure, or arrest powers to US military personnel. Amended in 1981 under Public Law 97-86 to permit increased Department of Defense support of drug interdiction and other law enforcement activities. (Title 18, "Use of Army and Air Force as Posse Comitatus" - United States Code, Section 1385) DoD Dictionary of Military Terms, 2006

"We have got to teach black people to stop beating each other to pieces right in their own living rooms." - Dr. Carl C. Bell, M.D., F.A.P.A., FA.C.P. LinkPresident & CEO Community Mental Health Center of Chicago

Federal troops to fight violence in the cities? Ah, that's a problem, as we'll see in a moment, but first, thanks to Gapers Block for alerting us to yet another piece of idiocy from Mary Mitchell. Writer and good friend Levois noted on GB that he "normally likes Mary Mitchell," but he doesn't always "think to check out her columns anymore. Not sure why, but this column from last month was pretty good." I usually avoid Mary Mitchell's column because she's a racist and an idiot who writes nonsense most of the time, as in the aforementioned article from March 31 (emphasis added): Obviously, President Obama can't read the tons of mail he receives. But there's one letter floating around the White House that I hope he reads. That letter is from Edward G. Gardner, a prominent Chicago businessman and the founder of Black on Black Love, the city's pioneering anti-violence campaign. Gardner is asking Obama to send federal troops to urban areas that are now under siege by domestic terrorists fighting gang wars. Full Column, Chicago Sun-Times... Mr. Gardner lives in Chicago and is the founder of Soft Sheen Products. He has been very useful to Barack Obama's political career for many years. Soft Sheen (now called "Soft Sheen Carson") promotes "the Celebration of Black." Ironically, his request to Barack Obama to send in the troops is due to the fact that black-on-black murder is out of control. Some celebration. (And by the way, try to imagine a Revlon "celebration of white.") Nowhere in Mitchell's column is the phrase "posse comitatus" mentioned. That's the problem. Mr. Gardner's proposal to use federal troops (i.e., Army, etc.) would be unconstitutional and violate United States Code, Section 1385. Mitchell should know this. After Hurricane Katrina, she and other race baiters screamed that President Bush was slow to act because he didn't rush federal troops to Louisiana. Bush offered; he phoned then-Governor Blanco and urged to her to allow him to send federal troops in to help keep the peace. Blanco refused. Colonel John R. Brinkerhoff, US Army Retired explains that "posse comitatus doctrine comes from English common law. Posse comitatus means, literally, the 'force of the county'; the posse comitatus is that body of men above the age of 15 whom the sheriff may summon or raise to repress a riot or for other purposes." (Source) Brinkerhoff notes that posse commitatus, and U.S. Code, Section 1385, are often misunderstood. Posse comitatus, he notes, "does not prevent the President from using federal troops in riots or civil disorders. Federal troops were used for domestic operations more than 200 times in the two centuries from 1795 to 1995." Under the Constitution, a President cannot send federal troops to a state for purposes other than training or quelling riots, however, unless they are specifically invited by that state's governor. In addition, however, § 1385 of the US Code, "Use of Army and Air Force as posse comitatus," states that "Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both." (Source: Cornell University Law School, U.S. Code Collection) Mary Mitchell ignores the U.S. Code. Instead of looking at federal law and its application in the case of punks killing people in cities, she tugs at our heartstrings with passages like these:
 • The number of CPS students who have been killed so far this year has surpassed the number of students killed in the previous school year.
 • "We are trying to let the president know we respect the full plate he has, but this is something that has not been addressed by the administration," Leak said.
 • What Gardner proposes is indeed controversial. But how many children have to die before we acknowledge that we are at war in our own country?
Perhaps Mr. Gardner and Ms. Mitchell should be more concerned with lousy parenting and an overall American culture that glorifies violence and thuggery. It would seem that they prefer a toxic "cure" to the disease of gangs, prostitution, and criminals to actually examining the cause of the disease. If fewer 14 year old black girls were giving birth to children in poverty, if more black parents would actually act like parents, if courts were not as lenient with violent offenders, if local police were not handcuffed by ACLU-inspired laws that make enforcement difficult, and if imbeciles like Mary Mitchell would stop diverting blame and proposing Band-Aids instead of the required regimen of curative measures, we wouldn't need requests for the president to send troops into our city streets. Dr. Carl Bell, quoted at the top of this post, is a Chicago psychiatrist and former gang member. He once said the following to a Bible study class at Chicago's all-black Messiah-St. Bartholomew Church (emphasis added): "If you have a loaded gun in your home, that gun is 118 times more likely to kill a family member or a friend than a burglar. But for every murder, there are 100 other acts of black-on-black violence—sexual molestations, rapes, robberies and physical assaults. And do you know what sends more black mothers to the emergency room than all the auto accidents, muggings and rapes combined? Husbands, that's who. We have got to teach black people to stop beating each other to pieces right in their own living rooms." Dr. Bell said those words in 1988. He still practices psychiatry and still works on violence issues. Those words still ring true. It is ironic as hell that the likes of Mary Mitchell scream about the local police when they get a bit heavy handed in dealing with murderous thugs. Yet there she is, giving support to Gardner's proposal of sending in the Army. Sure, fine, Mary, send in the cavalry. But don't write another whiny, heart-tugging column when you find that the US military cannot make bad parents good, cannot change the culture of violence-promoting rap music, or employ a velvet glove any better than the Chicago Police Department can. Federal troops would not be able to make black people stop beating each other to pieces right in their own living rooms. Janeane Garofalo, Protector of Lowly Negroes

Last week, Janeane Garofalo said that Tea Party protest participants are racists. She said Tea Partiers are "a bunch of teabagging rednecks," and "this is about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism straight up." Garofalo was speaking on Keith Olberman's show on MSNBC. Olbermann never questioned her or challenged her on those assertions Only a Liberal whackjob could equate opposition to higher taxes and increasing government control of our lives to racism. But then, the Liberals have long been quick to label anybody they oppose as racists, Nazis or fascists. It's easier for them to do that than to actually discuss the issue intelligently. Garofalo's remarks set off a firestorm of reaction, including this one: "As a black man, I love it when ignorant white women like Janeane Garofalo speak for all blacks. It's thrilling to me that Janeane would take time out of her busy Hollyweird life to protect me and my peeps -- the downtrodden, the oppressed...the lowly Negro." So writes friend Kevin on his blog, "The Black Sphere." He points out a dirty little secret. The secret is that Liberal White Folk - consciously or otherwise - consider black people and other minority groups as pets. Yes, pets. Protect the poor dumb pets, make sure they crap in the right places, give them treats when the perform little tricks for you, give them free food. Kevin rants on: Black people, wake up. What you have here is a no talent racist hack arguing for you, when there is no real issue. And it doesn't take a genius to connect the dots on this one. Garofalo is the prototypical elitist, who believes blacks to be weak and stupid. With those perceptions of blacks, she is the perfect representative of the racist, elitist Democrat Party. How did we survive without them? How indeed? How would your dog or cat fare in the wild? You need to keep them in the house or on a leash. Any good pet owner knows, too, that you must give your pet reassurance. Make them feel safe. Protect them. They cannot survive without you. The pet owner feels a sense of self worth by virtue of being such a kind, loving person. It rarely crosses the mind of the pet owner, however, that the pet dog or cat is a slave in a gilded cage. The dog or cat, however, is always mindful of the fact that de massa can punish you severely if you misbehave. Urban League's Declaration of Dependence

Star Parker
Star Parker (photo) is a brilliant columnist
on, and the founder and President of, the Coalition for Urban Renewal & Education (CURE), a 501(c)(3) social policy think tank. She writes what she thinks, and she always thinks carefully about what she writes.

This week, Parker thought a lot about the National Urban League and their shameful willingness to declare, in effect, that African-Americans are not able to make it on their own, and that Big Government is the only hope for them. Those are my words, not Parker's. She says it a whole lot better than I can:

The National Urban League has just issued its annual State of Black America report. It provides a troubling statistical snapshot of where blacks stand today in our country. Like Marc Morial, president of the National Urban League, I'm concerned. But after concern, we part company. We have very different ideas of what it is we should be concerned about. Morial, I am sure, sees his organization as part of the solution. From what I see, it is a well-funded symptom of the problem.

Note: If you want a copy of the State of Black America report, the National Urban League will gladly sell you a copy for $19.95. However, you can find a free Executive Summary and free abstracts at no charge on their website.

Parker jumps right into to her declaration that the National Urban League, a suck-up organization in the pocket of the Democrat National Committee, is not part of any solution. The National Urban League, she says, is a big part of the problem: Shouldn't it embarrass black Americans that one the nation's largest and most prestigious civil rights organizations offers a long list of proposals to improve black life in our country, and every single proposal is a government program? Government funded jobs as the answer to unemployment, more government money in public schools, government health care, government business loans, government money for retirement accounts, government programs for counseling homebuyers, government worker training programs, government money for building construction, and on and on.

Indeed, it should embarrass not just black Americans but all Americans that, in the year 2009, so much of the failed policies of Lyndon Johnson's not-so-"Great Society" are still clung to by race-baiting opportunists. The National Urban League is such an opportunistic organization, eager to take the tax dollars of hard working men and women regardless of race and redistribute it to those who have not earned it. A main motivation of such immoral action: Power. He who controls the gold controls those to whom he doles it. Why do you think 90 percent of black voters, in a typical election, will vote for the Democrat? Because organizations like the Urban League are in a devil's pact with the Democrats and the redistributionists.

Parker continues: There's not a single proposal that I could find in a several hundred-page report about improving black life that does not start with government. The civil rights movement once was about freedom and liberation. Now it's about government dependency. We should be ashamed.

Ashamed, yes. Surprised, no, not with reflection and critical thought. One of the most disturbing nightmares for the Democrat Party leadership and groups such as the National Urban League is one in which black people and other minority groups begin to realize that freedom and liberty is killed by dependence. Whether that dependence is that of a child to parent or welfare recipient to government bureaucrat, freedom dies and the recipient is co-opted. Creativity is discouraged, enterprise muted, progress retarded.

But, you may whimper, blacks and minorities need more help than, you know, the rest of us. That's liberal code for "white people." The Democrat Party and the Urban League don't mind that at all. The notion that one cannot make it with Uncle Sam's hand up one's rear end, as with a ventriloquist and his dummy, is just fine and dandy. The ventriloquist, after all, controls the dummy. What good would it do the ventriloquist if the dummy got off his lap, walked away, and booked his own act?

Racism still exists, but it can no longer be blamed as a blanket reason for blacks to fail. Too many black Americans are succeeding, thank God, for that to be a valid reason any longer. It is now an shirker's excuse. As Parker writes, "Regarding discrimination, you have to wonder what it will take to get off this convenient excuse. Some 40 million white Americans voted for Barack Obama for president. That is two million more white Americans than voted for John Kerry in 2004."

It is, perhaps, an ironic statement for Parker to make, considering that Kerry and Obama have been and continue to be part of the cabal that encourages groups like the National Urban League - and the myth that black Americans can't make it without them.

Pushing Them Down

A thoughtful response to my recent post, "Where Are the Black Men?" Levois writes the following, which I love because my posting was inspired by his posting, "Report: black males in CPS half as likely to graduate as whites" on July 26. Thanks, Levois.

I could take so many angles with this issue. I could have said this was about welfare or I could say this was about irresponsible people having a baby. Another comment could be these men don't stick around because these women have their own issues and they guys are like forget this. One of my issues of concern that are somewhat connected to this is to talk about young men going to college. If young white men are graduating from high school they're not going to college. Especially if they're comparable to young black men who might be between poor or middle class. Not that I have some direct numbers on this, but I have seen stories on this over time. Also in my post I mention that women can push each other. I saw a story on TV one time about women in boot camp and while the guys are more competitive women are more encouraging. There is a big difference in psyche. I can't say I've put my hand on it exactly. Then again why are the guys cancelling themselves out? It might be because no one is pushing them. We make an effort to encourage young women to pursue an education and then secure a profession, but expect the guys to continue on like business as usual. Just that now men are competing with women. No one would think this should be a problem for the guys, should we? Another angle I can come up with is how there are those out there who are trying to remake society to their own ideals. That is feminists wanting to remake society where women are more dominant. I know that's a far fetched idea, so I offer you this post on how Title 9 is causing colleges to cut back on men's sports programs. Resultantly male enrollment in colleges have gone down. The only thing I'm trying to say is that something is wrong. Young black men might have it worse only because they have it worse. That is for some reason there is an expectation that they might be arrested at some point. This could be because someone is looking for them to engage in criminal activity unjustifiably or they are involved in that because no one guided them in the right direction. When you think about it, this is certainly something worth a good academic study.

Where Are the Black Men?

A disturbing report released yesterday indicates that black students in Chicago have "half the chance at graduation as their white classmates." [Source]

The wording, "half the chance," is ABC7's. Is that correct? Do they really have "half the chance," or do those kids graduate half as often as white kids? In other words, every kid has the same "chance," or opportunity, to study, to attend classes, and graduate. Their chances of graduating, however, are halved not by the system, but by social and family issues.

Friend Levois writes on his blog:

"Those who don't want to be in school will need an excuse to not show up. To me neighborhood issues might suggest criminal activity, that is they're either involved in criminal activity or it's not safe to go to school on a given day. That other quote, it's in there for a reason. I want to ask this question. Where are the men?"

The absence of fathers in black families has long been a subject of hot debate. Bill Cosby has addressed this, and more recently Barack Obama has too. Levois adds:

"I would suggest that young men need something from older men. A man has to be there to guide his children in the right direction. Unfortunately in some homes it's the women as head of the household. Perhaps the man of the house is the older brother who still doesn't know a lot about the world."

Many, many black families have gotten it right, but far too many remain fatherless. Among the contributing factors: A culture of irresponsible sex, decades of rewarding single mothers with welfare on the condition that there is no man in the household, the damaging effects of rap and hip-hop glorifying the gangsta lifestyle, and so on.

Fatherless households are not unique to African Americans, to be sure. However, with rates of 70 to 90 percent of blacks being born out of wedlock in many US cities, the future looks bleak unless the trend reverses itself suddenly and thoroughly. Until then, black kids will continue to have half the chance of succeeding as their white peers. Here's the rub: Their white peers are not to blame. It's their absent fathers and their irresponsible mothers. No amount of propaganda from Jesse Jackson can change that fact.

N-----s and Q----s

No, Jackson didn't say "the N-word," he actually said "nigger" in off-air comments earlier this month. The story now comes out (click for more). This, of course, on the heels of Jackson's comment that he wanted to "cut out" Barack Obama's testicles, thereby mutilating and, possibly, causing Mr. Obama to bleed to death.

Why the hell do we call it "the N-word," anyway? As I walk down the mean streets of Chicago, I hear it all the time. Here in Rogers Park, for example, I hear young women address their boyfriends as "nigga" (a variant of the word "nigger"), and it's not unusual to witness folks call "hey nigger!" across the street or down the block - in an attempt to get the attention of an acquaintance. When quoting a public figure such as Jackson, who says "nigger," it is inaccurate to report that the person said "the N-word." It dilutes the meaning, it softens the punch. That, undoubtedly, is the intention of the writers or editors who do this. So a reader whose first language is not English, for example, may wonder what the heck is being referred to: "Neighbor?" "Nutjob?" "Necromancer?" What?

The homosexual community did a smart thing decades ago by defusing words that had been used (still are, sadly) against them. Words such as "queer," "fag," "dyke," and so on were actually embraced by the "Gay" community. The appropriation of the word "gay" was a similar move which worked. Overwhelmingly, the average American today refers to homosexuals as "gay," which sound much, well, happier.

Back to the word "nigger," an ugly word to be sure. It should be made extinct, and in an ideal world it would be. Unfortunately, we are stuck with it for now. The Black Community is divided on its merits. Some embrace it, but those who do so are more often than not are gangsters or gangsterphiles. The fact that most socially sensitive people today say "the N-word" rather than actually saying "nigger" shows that most of us recognize the hateful connotations that the word carries for most of us. The Reviled Jesse Jackson must surely know and understand this. He has repeatedly asked fellow Blacks to not use the word "nigger."

Then again, Jackson was telling people to be faithful to their spouses even as he was having an extramarital affair, which resulted in a daughter being born to the woman he was seeing on the side. The "H-word" comes to mind.

Blacks: Planned Parenthood Is Racist

This may come as a shock to a lot of Democrats and liberals, but not all Black-Americans are willing to step and fetch for the Democrat National Committee. It's not surprising that pro-life black preachers would want the presidential candidates to refuse all contributions from Planned Parenthood. But one group of black preachers including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s niece, Alveda King, has stepped out to label Planned Parenthood a racist organization and accusing them of participating in the genocide of black babies.
