(Updated) Moseley Braun, Davis - Slaves To Racial Politics
January 1, 2011 - Chicago - How very disappointing, but how sadly predictable: Danny Davis has dropped out of the Chicago mayoral race and thrown his support behind Carol Moseley Braun. Why? It's all about racial politics. Yesterday afternoon, I expressed faint hope that maybe - just maybe - Davis and Moseley Braun had put that nonsense behind them (see text of my original post below). Hours after posting that, word came that Davis had caved in to demands by Jesse Jackson, Sr. to drop out in order to form a unified Black front.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports today:
It was a push from black businessmen who’d wanted a single candidate to back, that had helped convince Davis late Friday to withdraw and back Braun. Braun ribbed Davis about giving her little notice Friday night, of his decision to endorse her, saying, “He gave me all of 25 minutes to get to his office to talk about how we could come come together to make the case for the people.” Full story here...
Shame on them all. Can you imagine a scenario in which white businessmen got together to form a united white front? People would be rightly accusing them of racism, and perhaps even crying out for boycotts of their businesses. Alas, Chicago is still a racist city. The irony of it all is that the most racist of them all are Black "leaders" who practice their racism openly and get slapped on the back for their bravado. Shame.
Posted December 31, 2010:
Are Danny Davis and Carol Moseley Braun new voices of racial rationality and reason for Chicago? Was I was wrong in my post on December 30? In that post, I said this:
Perhaps Chicago's Black mayoral candidates .... is willing to "look beyond race," certainly not on an issue as important as who is going to lead the city. Today we still have self-proclaimed "Black leaders" (such as the Reviled Jesse Jackson) constantly whining that race is a dividing issue. Perhaps that's due in no small part to the fact that they just won't shut up about it and because they insist - in a knee jerk, involuntary manner - on basing everything they do, say and think upon racial issues.
As to my first question above, the answer is "not by a long shot." The answer to the second question is, "Partially."
Both Danny Davis and Carol Moseley Braun deserve reserved kudos for refusing to go along with race baiter Jesse Jackson's latest ploy to play the race card and to perpetuate the artificially maintained, psychological racial divide in Chicago.
John Chase wrote a piece for Clout Street, which summed up the deal (my emphasis added):
Rev. Jesse Jackson brokered a meeting last night to try to settle on a single major African-American candidate for the Chicago mayor's contest, but neither former Sen. Carol Moseley Braun nor U.S. Rep. Danny Davis have budged.
The idea is to unify behind a single black candidate akin to 1983, when Harold Washington became the city's only elected African-American mayor."They know it's going to be difficult to get two candidates through the race. There will be two losers and no winner," Jackson said today. "It's difficult to get one camel through the eye of the needle. It's impossible to get two."
Imagine a White reverend, priest or minister getting a group of White mayoral hopefuls together for the purpose of trying to "settle on a single major White-American candidate for the Chicago mayor's contest." Imagine the outcries of outrage, the indignant condemnations of such a boldly racist action. Imagine that, and ask yourself how that hypothetical would be any different in principle or offensiveness than what Jackson actually did.
I could suggest where Jackson should put that camel, but I won't. Instead, I'll just say that it's somewhat refreshing to see folks such as Carol Moseley Braun and Danny Davis refusing to play Jackson's insidious game of Divide and Conquer.
John Chase wrote this for The Chicago Tribune:
U.S. Rep. Danny Davis and former U.S. Sen. Carol Moseley Braun both insisted Thursday that they would keep running for Chicago mayor, despite renewed calls by black leaders to unite behind a single candidate who could improve the odds of an African-American winning the February election.
Good for them. Their decisions required a modicum of courage. They will take heat from some Black voters who will accuse them of putting self-interest ahead of a united racial political front.
I stand, then, by my December 30 statements about "Black leaders" such as Jesse Jackson. However, recent statements by Davis and Moseley Braun have forced me to rethink their status as mindless mongers of race-based voter sentiment. Of course, I am still inclined to think of them as mindless adherents to the same old tired Liberal and Progressive policies that have gotten the City of Chicago into the dire financial mess that they both promise to get it out of, albeit without the cracking veneer of racial identity.
This is not to say that most Black voters in Chicago will not cast their votes in February's election based on race. We know that Blacks, as a group, tend to vote Democrat about 90 percent of the time. Undoubtedly, most of Chicago's Black voters will vote for one of the Black candidates, such as Davis or Moseley Braun, rather than for that Jewish White guy or that Latino guy. Even so, having two prominent Black politicians tell Jesse Jackson to stuff it because they're running to be mayor of all citizens of Chicago, not just Blacks, is something of a start.
Gery Chico, a Latino candidate for mayor, "is steering clear of the notion their has to be a Hispanic candidate," WLS AM reported. WLS quoted Chico as saying, "My priority is to have the concensus [sic], most qualified candidate to be the mayor of our city."
Chico, of course, was not part of Jesse Jackson's meeting with Davis and Moseley Braun, but his statement sends the same between-the-lines message to Jackson: Shut up.

Keeping Race in Chicago's Mayoral Race
With the election of Comrade President Barack Hussein Obama, we were promised, the nation would move beyond race. In January, 2008, Obama was finishing his Iowa caucus campaign. He was quoted by the Chicago Tribune as saying, "People are willing
to look beyond race, particularly on issues as important as who is going to lead the country." It was a fantastical statement, given the fact that we still have racist institutions like the Black Congressional Caucus.
Oh? Perhaps Chicago's Black mayoral candidates missed that pronouncement from The Messiah. None of them is willing to "look beyond race," certainly not on an issue as important as who is going to lead the city.
To wit, the current mayoral race in Chicago, where Black "leaders" and candidates are conspiring about the best way to defeat Rahm Emanuel. Of course, it's all about beating the White Man, not about finding the best person to be our next mayor.
Carol Felsenthal writes about this in two good articles at ChicagoMag.com:
Rev. Jesse Jackson: The Davis/Moseley Braun meeting-and on the media covering the mayor’s race - December 30, 2010:
As previously reported, Jesse Jackson, Sr., met Wednesday night at his Rainbow PUSH headquarters with Danny Davis and Carol Moseley Braun, the two leading African American candidates for mayor. The purpose, Jackson told me in a telephone conversation Thursday morning, was to get them talking-to jump start the dialogue about one of them dropping out to give the survivor a chance to turn the momentum that has been building for Rahm Emanuel. Jackson predicted that the two “old friends” will reach an agreement: “There’s nothing hostile or petty about their relationship….They left the meeting on good terms.” Here’s the rest of what Jackson told me....
Danny Davis: Ministers want a single black candidate; Rev. Jesse Jackson brokering? - December 29, 2010:
Congressman Danny Davis says that, at the behest of various black ministers, he and Carol Moseley Braun will meet again later today to discuss whether one of them should drop out of the race for Chicago mayor. The two longtime friends—the leading African American candidates in the contest—met on Christmas Eve to talk shop about the campaign ...
The unspoken (so far) implication, of course, is that anybody who supports Rahm Emanuel must be anti-Black and, therefore, racist. We heard that spoken often enough during Obama's campaign and still here accusations of racism thrown at anybody who opposes His policies. Willing to look beyond race? I think most of us are, but we also wish the self-proclaimed Black "leaders" would just shut the hell up and keep their paranoid delusions out of politics.

Duke Lacrosse Team Accuser Charged With Attempted Murder
There is a God, and his Justice keeps marching on. Crystal Magnum is the woman who tried to destroy a bunch of good and decent young men by falsely accusing them of sexual assault back in March,
2006. She falsely claimed that three students at Duke University committed the alleged assault. Now Magnum faces a slew of very serious charges that could put her behind bars for a long time.
It was eventually proven not only that Magnum lied, but that the District Attorney, Michael Nifong, played fast and loose with the case. Nifong was later charged with 20 ethics violations and went to jail - for a mere 24 hours. The three young men went free, after they and their families went through a long period of hell.
Today, Feb. 18, 2010, Durham police have charged Crystal Gail Mangum, 31, with attempting to kill her boyfriend early this morning. Mangum is the woman who wrongly accused three Duke lacrosse players of rape in 2006. A judge this morning ordered that she remain in jail on a $1 million bond. Wearing a white jail jumpsuit, Mangum kept her head down during her court appearance today and said nothing as the charges from this morning’s incident were read. More of this story at newsobserver.com...
That ain't all. According to the New York Post, she was charged with attempted first-degree murder, five counts of arson, three counts of misdemeanor child abuse, identity theft (she apparently told authorities she was "Marella Mangum"), and more. Full article at businessinsider.com...
After Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and Nancy Grace and many of the Duke faculty assumed the three lacrosse players were guilty, and shamefully convicted them publicly, can we finally expect the long overdue apologies that have yet to be uttered? Will Jesse Jackson offer to give Magnum more money this time around? He won't, of course, because this time there's no political gain to be had by Jackson. It will be interesting to see how - or even if - Grace will cover this story in the continuing saga of Crystal Magnum, one very disgusting person.

Jesse Jackson, Violence in Rogers Park, and Liberal Magic
Prediction: Indictment for Jesse Jackson Jr.
April 14, 2009 - Fifteen minutes from now, former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich will appear in court before U.S. District Judge James Zagel. It will be his first court appearance since he was indicted earlier this month on 16 felony charges. Blago says he will plead "not guilty" to the counts, which include racketeering conspiracy and extortion conspiracy. Blago's arraignment is set for 11:00 am at the Dirksen Federal Building in downtown Chicago. (Source)
Meanwhile, the son of racist extortionist "Reverend" Jesse Jackson is up to his neck in accusations and getting a lot of his own unfavorable press this week. For months there has been speculation that Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL) might be guilty of pay-for-play antics in an alleged attempt to buy his way into Barack Obama's vacated U.S. Senate seat.
On April 13, the Chicago Sun-Times ran a story that seems to disspell any doubt that Junior Jackson is allegedly (there, the legal crap is out of the way) guilty as hell.
Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s camp was told last year that U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) would raise up to $5 million in campaign cash for the ex-governor if he was appointed to President Obama’s U.S. Senate seat, the Chicago Sun-Times has learned. The overture came from at least two members of the local Indian community who approached the Blagojevich fund-raising team last fall, sources say.
Bad news for JJ, Jr. Questions arise, of course. One question: Where the hell would he get that kind of money? The answer: Daddy. The good reverend, you see, is rich. He got his money, in large part, by underhanded means. For example:
Last year [2000], Jackson billed the charities he controls $614,000 for "travel expenses." When asked to explain this extraordinary figure, he says that he often spends more than 200 days per year traveling on charitable business. Yet even if we make the charitable assumption that this figure doesn't include any direct padding of Jackson's self-reported $430,000 annual income, this still works out to nearly $3,000 per day. (Source: Rocky Mountain News via Skeptictank)
When he's not using charities as a personal ATM, Rev. Jackson is likely to be plotting his next extortion scheme. One of those schemes was the magnificently successful squeezing of brewer Anheuser-Busch.
Jackson, whose attempt to boycott Anheuser-Busch failed in 1982, was invoked by black employees of a company beer distributorship in Chicago, who believed they were being discriminated against. In what many observers saw as a blatant (and successful) attempt to buy racial peace from Jackson, Anheuser-Busch awarded the lucrative distributorship (with revenues of between $30 million and $40 million a year) to Jackson's sons. (Source: National Review Online)
So, the money is there. The Jacksons are quite wealthy. What's five million bucks to put your son in the U.S. Congress? I'm not saying that Jesse Senior offered up the five million dollars that was allegedly offered to Blagojevich. I'm just saying that if that was the case, the money was easily obtainable.
Back to the April 13 Sun-Times story:
Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. denies allowing anyone to make pay-to-play offers for President Obama's U.S. Senate seat to then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich on his behalf. (Brian Jackson/Sun-Times) Besides the $5 million to be raised by Jackson, the proposal also included another $1 million for Blagojevich’s campaign fund that would come from Indian donors, sources say.
The Sun-Times report is damning. Jackson Junior keeps saying that he has done nothing wrong. That might be true. But why, then, are so many people, such as "at least two members of the local Indian community" and others, coming forward to say that Junior is guilty as hell?

Updated: Jesse Jackson Jr Under Investigation
UPDATE: "A congressional ethics board has launched a preliminary inquiry into U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.), related to President Obama's vacant Senate seat and the corruption investigation of ousted Gov. Rod Blagojevich, the Chicago Sun-Times has learned."....
Is "the Man" trying to keep Jesse Jackson, Jr. down? No, I'm not talking about Senator Harry Reid blocking the appointment of three black men by Blagojevich last year to fill Obama's empty Senate seat, and instead pushing two white women. No, I'm referring to the ongoing federal Blagojevich corruption case, in which Jackson stands immersed up to his chin.
Back in December, the Congressman Jackson (and a gaggle of other Illinois Democrats) was very busy denying any involvement in Rod Blagojevich's corruption "crime spree." The "spree" included the alleged attempted sale of Obama's vacated US Senate seat, for which Blagojevich was recently indicted. New developments, as reported in the April 7 edition of the Chicago Sun-Times, indicate that Jackson's denials were not enough to make the federal investigators lose interest in him:
Federal authorities have asked U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson (D.-Ill) why former Gov. Rod Blagojevich believed he would get campaign cash in exchange for appointing Jackson to President Obama's vacant Senate seat, sources told the Sun-Times. More than a week ago, Jackson and his criminal defense lawyer sat down for an interview with investigators in connection with the ongoing corruption probe of the now-indicted Blagojevich. (Chicago Sun-Times)
Junior's daddy, the "Reverend" Jesse Jackson, would probably be accusing the feds of racism by now. Daddy has been curiously quiet about all of this, however, and the race card would be difficult to play anyway. Most of those under investigation or indictment in connection to the Blagojevich scandal are white, after all. The Sun-Times quotes Daddy as saying "I've stayed a respectful -- but supportive -- distance from his political work." That's rather uncharacteristic for Daddy Jackson, a man not exactly known for being shy about expressing himself publicly.
The Sun-Times continues:
But the charges against Blagojevich include an alleged scheme involving Jackson's possible appointment. The ex-governor [Blagojevich] believed he would receive $1.5 million in campaign money in exchange for appointing Jackson to the seat, according to the allegations.
Now, why would Blago have believed that he would get $1.5 million from Jackson?
The Southtown Star points out in its April 7 edition that "Jackson's recent interview took place nearly four months after he publicly announced he wasn't a target of the FBI investigation and said he expected to meet with agents in a few days. Jackson isn't accused of wrongdoing and has said he never gave anyone authority to trade cash for the appointment."
On April 5, the Chicago Tribune also pointed out that federal investigators "say Blagojevich was approached by an associate of U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) who offered $1.5 million in campaign contributions in exchange for Jackson's appointment to the seat." It's amusing to see, in every major report about Jackson, a reminder that Jackson has been accused of wrongdoing. I suppose that's the work of the media lawyers. The federal investigators, on the other hand, seems less reluctant to come right out and say that "Blagojevich was approached by an associate of U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) who offered $1.5 million in campaign contributions."
Are federal investigators imagining that a Jackson associate approached Blagojevich and offered $1.5 million for that senate seat? Was Blagojevich himself so confused that he misinterpreted an alleged offer of $1.5 million? Did the federal investigators, all of them, completely misunderstand what they heard on the recorded Blagojevich conversations?
The April 5 Tribune report also said:
Blagojevich is accused of telling his brother, Robert, who led his campaign fund and who also was indicted Thursday, to tell Oak Brook businessman Raghuveer Nayak to begin the fundraising effort in exchange for Jackson's appointment.
Raghuveer Nayak MS, RPh was a major money man for Rod Blagojevich. He lives in Oak Brook, a wealthy western Chicago suburb, and he owns the Rogers Park One Day Surgery Center at 7616 N. Paulina in Rogers Park, a Chicago neighborhood on Lake Michigan and at Evanston's southern border. The Trib had the following on December 12, 2008 (emphasis added):
As Gov. Rod Blagojevich was trying to pick Illinois' next U.S. senator, businessmen, including Raghuveer Nayak, with ties to both the governor and U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. discussed raising at least $1 million for Blagojevich's campaign as a way to encourage him to pick Jackson for the job, the Tribune has learned.
Imagination? Fabrication? The Man keeping Jackson down? Seems not, if you can believe that December 12 report from the Chicago Tribune:
Blagojevich made an appearance at an Oct. 31 luncheon meeting at the India House restaurant in Schaumburg sponsored by Oak Brook businessman Nayak, a major Blagojevich supporter who also has fundraising and business ties to the Jackson family, according to several attendees and public records. Two businessmen who attended the meeting and spoke to the Tribune on the condition of anonymity said that Nayak and Blagojevich aide Rajinder Bedi privately told many of the more than two dozen attendees the fundraising effort was aimed at supporting Jackson's bid for the Senate. Among the attendees was a Blagojevich fundraiser already under scrutiny by federal investigators, Joliet pharmacist Harish Bhatt.
An excellent article by Prof. Vijay Prashad on December 31, 2008 gave deeper insight into the fundraiser attended by Nayak (emphasis added):
On October 31 [2008], a Konkani businessman, Raghuveer Nayak, booked India House for a private party. He hosted luminaries of Chicago’s business community, people such as pharmacy owners Harish and Renuka Bhatt, hotelier Satish “Sonny” Gabhawala, and prominent political leaders of the Indian-American community, such as Babu Patel and Iftekhar Shareef (both past presidents of the Federation of Indian Associations). Nayak, also a former head of the Federation of Indian Associations, owns a group of surgical centres. A highly regarded Democratic Party fund-raiser, Nayak is also a friend of another person who attended the lunch, Rajinder Bedi, an aide to Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich (the Governor calls Bedi “My Sikh Warrior”). In addition, among the few who are not Indian American, the party included Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr.’s brother Jonathan. Governor Blagojevich made a brief appearance. (CounterPunch) (Vijay Prashad bio)
Prashad continued:
On December 4, the Governor met with “Advisor B” (as he is named in the criminal complaint) and told him that “Senate Candidate 5” (Jesse Jackson Jr.) would get “greater consideration” because of a surety that No. 5 would help Blagojevich raise money and that he would give him “some [money] up front, maybe.” Blagojevich wanted something “tangible” now because “some of this stuff’s gotta start happening now… right now… and we gotta see it. You understand?”
Is Jackson, Jr. innocent? That will be for the legal system to figure out. Is Jesse Junior accused of wrongdoing? Not officially. Are the federal investigators keenly suspicious of him? It certainly appears so. Do they have reason to be suspicious? Seems so. Will Junior eventually be "accused of wrongdoing?" You can probably bet on it, then place another bet that he'll strike a deal in return for his testimony and cooperation. The phrase "sing like a canary" comes to mind.

N-----s and Q----s
No, Jackson didn't say "the N-word," he actually said "nigger" in off-air comments earlier this month. The story now comes out (click for more). This, of course, on the heels of Jackson's comment that he wanted to "cut out" Barack Obama's testicles, thereby mutilating and, possibly, causing Mr. Obama to bleed to death.
Why the hell do we call it "the N-word," anyway? As I walk down the mean streets of Chicago, I hear it all the time. Here in Rogers Park, for example, I hear young women address their boyfriends as "nigga" (a variant of the word "nigger"), and it's not unusual to witness folks call "hey nigger!" across the street or down the block - in an attempt to get the attention of an acquaintance. When quoting a public figure such as Jackson, who says "nigger," it is inaccurate to report that the person said "the N-word." It dilutes the meaning, it softens the punch. That, undoubtedly, is the intention of the writers or editors who do this. So a reader whose first language is not English, for example, may wonder what the heck is being referred to: "Neighbor?" "Nutjob?" "Necromancer?" What?
The homosexual community did a smart thing decades ago by defusing words that had been used (still are, sadly) against them. Words such as "queer," "fag," "dyke," and so on were actually embraced by the "Gay" community. The appropriation of the word "gay" was a similar move which worked. Overwhelmingly, the average American today refers to homosexuals as "gay," which sound much, well, happier.
Back to the word "nigger," an ugly word to be sure. It should be made extinct, and in an ideal world it would be. Unfortunately, we are stuck with it for now. The Black Community is divided on its merits. Some embrace it, but those who do so are more often than not are gangsters or gangsterphiles. The fact that most socially sensitive people today say "the N-word" rather than actually saying "nigger" shows that most of us recognize the hateful connotations that the word carries for most of us. The Reviled Jesse Jackson must surely know and understand this. He has repeatedly asked fellow Blacks to not use the word "nigger."
Then again, Jackson was telling people to be faithful to their spouses even as he was having an extramarital affair, which resulted in a daughter being born to the woman he was seeing on the side. The "H-word" comes to mind.

Open Letter to Jesse Jackson: Taii Austin
Taii K. Austin writes the best response I've seen yet to the hateful JESSE JACKSON comments of last Sunday. Jackson said he would like to seriously injure Barack Obama by mutilating his male genitalia. Seriously.
Jackson's own hateful words: "See, Barack's been talking down to black people on this faith-based—I want to cut his nuts out."
Jackson is part of the greater Religious Left. (And some of you thought the Religious Right is hateful? They pale in comparison to Jackson, Sharpton & Pfleger.)
But let's get back to Ms. Austin, who brilliantly wrote this open letter to Jesse Jackson:
If you flat out hate the dude and think his policies are going to run this nation further into the ground, tell us why. But until and unless Sen. Obama joins the clergy, cheats on his wife, and fathers a secret child with his mistress, you are way out of line to suggest that his talks on the urgent need for black people to repair the black family are anything less than absolutely necessary. FULL ARTICLE at Huffington Post...
Democrats and Testicles

Last Sunday, the Reviled Jesse Jackson (a Democrat) said he would like to remove Barack Obama's testicles. He said it more crudely, of course, when he thought no microphones were on nearby. What he actually said was, "See, Barack's been talking down to black people on this faith-based—I want to cut his nuts out."
Jackson, a man of the cloth embarrassed by expressing his desire to violently mutilate another human being, quickly apologized and reassured everybody that he was fully supportive of Barack Obama's candidacy. This, of course, was more reassuring to Republicans and conservatives, for an endorsement by Jackson is hardly worth as much as Jackson himself thinks. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you are one.
Jackson's choice of words is interesting. Assuming that Obama's testicles dropped when he was quite young, as they should have, Jackson would want to cut them off, not "out." Perhaps Jackson knows something about Obama - an adult man who can't bowl a 40 game - that the rest of us are not yet privy to.
Jackson's apology rings hollow, of course. You don't say something like that unless you mean it, and Jackson said it. (By the way, has he ever issued an apology for his "heimi town" remark?)
Illinois Governor Rod "Testes" Blagojevich (a Democrat) bragged about his testicles. "This is the kind of thing that I think separates the men from the boys in leadership. Do you have the testicular virility to make a decision like that, knowing what's coming your way?" Blagojevich said. "I say I do." [Source]
Cook County Commissioner William Beavers (a Democrat) yelled at a reporter that "I'm the hog with the big nuts and I'm gonna tell you what it is." [Source]
Hillary Clinton (a Democrat) apparently thinks that women can have "testicular fortitude." Dig this, from The Swamp: "At a union-hall event in Portage, Paul Gibson, the president of the United Steelworkers Local 6787, was selected to introduce Clinton. In Gibson's words, Clinton was the kind of leader with the 'testicular fortitude' to make hard decisions." [Source]
It should be noted here that Mr. Gibson is a Democrat. Okay, that's weird, a guy saying a woman has testicular fortitude. Weirder still, Mrs. Clinton told the crowd that "Women can have it, as well as men." They can have the equivalent of "testicular fortitude" but not actual "testicular fortitude."
To believe otherwise is just nuts.

Jesse Jackson Protests Racist Traffic Signals
"Why must we wait for a little white man to give us permission to walk?" asked Jackson. He stood at a crosswalk in Chicago's "Loop" business district and pointed across the street.
"Looka that," he said, "a little white guy tellin' me that I can walk. I resent that. I am somebody, not a nobody. I walk the walk. Can that little white man?" Jackson stepped into the street and crossed at a leisurely pace, talking to reporters as he moved to the other side.
"I call on all people to boycott these racist traffic signals," Jackson said. "Do not cross the street when he tell you to. Jus' stan' there. Don't cross til you see a little black man tell you to."
Phil Kosluzkzkchizyvk, a spokesman for the City of Chicago's Pedestrian Safety Office, said he did not understand Jackson's complaint.
"Can't he see that in fact it is a little black man outlined in white?" Kosluzkzkchizyvk asked. "We're very sensitive to this issue. In fact, we are actually experimenting with a black light crossing signal. It could be out in early 2009 if all goes as planned."
Extorting Western Union: Lessons From Jesse Jackson
Illegal immigrants and their supporters will join others on Monday, September 17 in one of the largest attempts at extortion in history. They seem to have learned well from studying master extortionist Jesse Jackson.
The targeted victim is Western Union.
According to a report from the Rocky Mountain News:
Western Union has spent much of 2007 worrying that some of its customers have stopped sending money for fear of deportation.
Now, an immigration-advocacy group is urging the transmitter's customers to stay away for a different reason: The company's prices are so high, the group says, they're exploitative.
The Transnational Institute for Grassroots Research and Action, an Oakland, Calif.-based group, is launching a boycott. The group says Western Union's fees are too high and it doesn't reinvest enough in the communities it serves.
"Reinvest enough in the communities it serves," whine the extortionists. Really? Just how is Western Union legally obligated to "reinvest" anywhere? How about this: You pay your fees for a valuable service, then you get the valuable service as promised. Isn't provided a valuable service in exchange for a reasonable fee a form of reinvesting? Yes, it is, unless you're an extortionist who doesn't give a damn about anything except lifting your wallet.
The Denver Post reports the following:
Western Union spokesman Daniel Diaz declined to specifically address TIGRA's allegations that it overcharges customers, saying only that "our prices are similar to others in the industry."
Diaz declined to say whether the boycott would have an impact on the company.
"We will continue to remain focus(ed) on our business," he said.
He said the company charges $9.99 to send $1,000 the next day to Mexico and $14.99 to get the money within minutes.
People, think about this. $9.99 from $1,000? That's one percent! One percent! A lousy one penny for every dollar that's sent hundreds, perhaps thousands, of miles away to somebody the very next day! That's a rip off?!? Good God, folks, you pay $2.00 at an ATM just to pull out a twenty; that's ten percent! And you haven't stolen somebody else's identity to get the bank account that your ATM draws from. (Have you?)
The Denver Post report continues:
The organization alleges that Western Union reinvests 41 cents for every $100 of profit, compared with $2.30 reinvested by Wal-Mart. TIGRA asks that the company raise that figure to $1 per transaction.
Let's stop again. Western Union, it is "alleged," reinvests 41 cents for every $100 of profit, compared with $2.30 by Wal-Mart. Really? So now Wal-Mart is the gold standard by which corporations' charitable activities should be guaged?
Continuing:
Western Union, however, said it regularly supports causes around the world through its Western Union Foundation. Since 2001, the foundation has granted nearly $40 million to nonprofit organizations worldwide in more than 70 countries and territories to support humanitarian projects, provide disaster relief and fund education, health and human-services programs.
$40 million bucks is nothing to sneeze at, whether it's more or less than Wal-Mart. How much money has Univision donated to good causes around the world? How much money does Modelo beer reinvest in the communities it "serves?" How much money does the average tacqeria reinvest in the neighborhood it serves? Will TIGRA be boycotting them soon?
Western Union needs to stand up to this disgusting attempt to extort from them. It would be nice to see Western Union announce that they will no longer be sending money to Mexico for anybody. Sorry, amigos, no more wiring money to Mexico. Of course, that won't happen.
But Western Union should take a lesson from the way NASCAR dealt with one of Jesse Jackson's many attempts to extort money. NASCAR told Jackson to take a hike. And he did. Victims so often become victims because they allow themselves to become victims. Rather than bend over and grab their ankles, Western Union should tell TIGRA and any other comers to go straight to hell on a fast train.

Merchants of Death: Jesse and Michael
"We're going to close down the merchants of death to save our children," said Rainbow/Push Coalition's Reviled Jesse Jackson.
"The Jackson/Pfleger marches," reports ABC7, "began at Chuck's symbolically a few weeks ago after the murder of 15-year-old honor student Blair Holt, who was shot to death on a CTA bus in May. Since then, at least a half dozen other city teenagers have died as the result of gunfire."
Shut up, Jackson, you loud mouthed, adulterating, extortionist hypocrital pig. Oh, I forgot antisemitic.
The "merchants of death" that you should be worried about are the gangstas that obtain their firearms illegally. The law-abiding citizens who want the guns for legitimate self defense want them because jerkoffs like you and nutjob Michael Pfleger keep helping ACLU-backed judges and legislators get elected. Those judges and legislators pass the kind of laws and bench decisions that allow rapists and murderers back on the streets after serving little or even zero time behind bars.
How many times do we have to tell you, you moron? Ban guns and only criminals will have guns. Do you really think that getting rid of gun shops in Chicago will prevent gangstas from obtaining them? Are you that stupid? Or do you simply assume that we are that stupid?
As Dinesh D'Souza writes, "But gunshops don't kill people, Jesse, gang members do. If the poor kid had been hanged with a rope, would you be protesting outside Home Depot? If he had been smothered with a pillow, would you be chanting outside Bed, Bath & Beyond?"
