Free Phones and 47 Percenters - SEIU Morons Prove Romney Right

Sept. 27, 2012 - "Give it away, give it away, give it away now."  Watch this woman protesting with others outside of a Mitt Romney campaign rally in Cleveland, Ohio yesterday.

"RealFreedom1776" posted the video to YouTube and noted that this woman "explains how Obama gives all minorities free phones and that is why they should vote for him." I mean, seriously, these folks could just as well have been chanting "WE! ARE! THE FORTY SEVEN PERCENT!"

It will come as no surprise to many of you that the protesters were paid by the SEIU to be there and chant their nonsense. "We don't want no Bain Economy!" they mumbled, but had no idea what Bain is.

Obamaphone devotee and Democrat voter
Yes, and isn't that exactly the kind of thing that Mitt Romney referred to (clumsily) when he said that "47 percent" of Americans are on the dole?

Yes, I know: Not ALL of those getting assistance from the government are slackers. I know.

However, it is undeniable that a large number of them are just like this woman, happy to have their votes and their political loyalty bought for damned free cell phone and a few loaves of bread. They don't see that they and others are enslaved, trapped in a very-hard-to-break cycle of dependency. They don't see that their "free" Obamaphone is not really free, but that it is paid for by taxpayer money. They don't see that taxpayers' money is forcibly taken from them to pay for that Obamaphone.  Many who do, though, don't care or shrug it off.

Okay, some of them do care. I live in Chicago, and I talk to the homeless and the poor. I am acquainted with about a dozen people (all white, by the way) who are receiving food stamps. Four or five have an "Obamaphone." They call it that with a sneer, however.

Above:  Obama video released Sept. 27 attacks Romney for speaking the truth.

The people I know are desperately looking for work, and a cell phone is a vital tool for them in their job hunt. Needless to say, food to keep you alive is important too. My point is simple: Some benefits receivers hate being on the dole, but have no choice. Even so....

The woman in the top video, however, is one of those people who Mitt Romney was thinking of when he said, "There are 47% of the people who will vote for the president no matter what." That woman speaks not for all of the 47% who are getting help. Rather, she speaks for those who make a career and a lifestyle of sucking at the government teat. I have no doubt that Mitt Romney is aware of the fact that some of those receiving benefits are conservatives and are not happy to have to take public aid - and that plenty actually agree with him. Think of the woman in the first video telling us we need to keep Obama "in president" because he gives away free cell phone.  Think of her when you hear Romney say that there are people "who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it." He might have said it better, but Romney was essentially right.

Video of Fight in Chicago Public Aid Office (With Love)

How long will it be before we start seeing this kind of animalist behavior in hospital waiting rooms under Obamacare?  Hat tips to WatchYourStep and to Windy Citizen, who wrote, "A particularly brutal fight broke out at the Public Aid Department at 915 East 63rd Ave. The fight is pretty terrible, but one male combatant's diva turn, complete with blowing kisses, makes the video worth watching."

Obama's Corporate Welfare Bonanza

You've heard Liberals and Democrats rant against Republicans and corporate welfare, right? Sure you have. Now you can tell them to shut up, because their very own Messiah, Barack Obama, has been dubbed the "King of Corporate Welfare." And who can argue? Well, perhaps Leslie Paige can. She's the media director of Citizens Against Government Waste, who emailed this to the Huffington Post:  "Forget corporate welfare," said Leslie Paige, : "We are now seeing full-scale corporate adoption."

Cute, but I'm sure even Paige would agree that the adoption involves enormous amounts of money being given to the very corporations and industries that Democrats and Leftists love to complain about.

So who gave the title of "King of Corporate Welfare" to Obama? It was Thomas B. Edsall, who wrote a brilliant piece for Huff Po, published on April 25. Excerpt:
No matter what else he achieves or where he falls short, Barack Obama can lay claim to the title of King of Corporate Subsidies. Using any of a variety of measures, the Obama administration has broken all records in the distribution of taxpayer dollars to American businesses, primarily banks, automobile manufacturers and insurance companies. The tidal wave of dollar bills has stunned folks on all sides of the political spectrum.
I'm not saying that I like corporate welfare. It's just that the Dems and the Libs love to make it sound as though Republicans are the only ones who are guilty of it. To be sure, some conservatives / Republicans are, and a handful of Democrats try to fight it. It's hypocritical of the Left to blame it all on the GOP. So, as I said, the next time you hear a moonbat spouting off about corporate welfare, remind them that the leader of the Democrat Party holds the all-time corporate welfare dispenser record. That's Obama, King of Corporate Welfare.

Urban League's Declaration of Dependence

Star Parker
Star Parker (photo) is a brilliant columnist
on, and the founder and President of, the Coalition for Urban Renewal & Education (CURE), a 501(c)(3) social policy think tank. She writes what she thinks, and she always thinks carefully about what she writes.

This week, Parker thought a lot about the National Urban League and their shameful willingness to declare, in effect, that African-Americans are not able to make it on their own, and that Big Government is the only hope for them. Those are my words, not Parker's. She says it a whole lot better than I can:

The National Urban League has just issued its annual State of Black America report. It provides a troubling statistical snapshot of where blacks stand today in our country. Like Marc Morial, president of the National Urban League, I'm concerned. But after concern, we part company. We have very different ideas of what it is we should be concerned about. Morial, I am sure, sees his organization as part of the solution. From what I see, it is a well-funded symptom of the problem.

Note: If you want a copy of the State of Black America report, the National Urban League will gladly sell you a copy for $19.95. However, you can find a free Executive Summary and free abstracts at no charge on their website.

Parker jumps right into to her declaration that the National Urban League, a suck-up organization in the pocket of the Democrat National Committee, is not part of any solution. The National Urban League, she says, is a big part of the problem: Shouldn't it embarrass black Americans that one the nation's largest and most prestigious civil rights organizations offers a long list of proposals to improve black life in our country, and every single proposal is a government program? Government funded jobs as the answer to unemployment, more government money in public schools, government health care, government business loans, government money for retirement accounts, government programs for counseling homebuyers, government worker training programs, government money for building construction, and on and on.

Indeed, it should embarrass not just black Americans but all Americans that, in the year 2009, so much of the failed policies of Lyndon Johnson's not-so-"Great Society" are still clung to by race-baiting opportunists. The National Urban League is such an opportunistic organization, eager to take the tax dollars of hard working men and women regardless of race and redistribute it to those who have not earned it. A main motivation of such immoral action: Power. He who controls the gold controls those to whom he doles it. Why do you think 90 percent of black voters, in a typical election, will vote for the Democrat? Because organizations like the Urban League are in a devil's pact with the Democrats and the redistributionists.

Parker continues: There's not a single proposal that I could find in a several hundred-page report about improving black life that does not start with government. The civil rights movement once was about freedom and liberation. Now it's about government dependency. We should be ashamed.

Ashamed, yes. Surprised, no, not with reflection and critical thought. One of the most disturbing nightmares for the Democrat Party leadership and groups such as the National Urban League is one in which black people and other minority groups begin to realize that freedom and liberty is killed by dependence. Whether that dependence is that of a child to parent or welfare recipient to government bureaucrat, freedom dies and the recipient is co-opted. Creativity is discouraged, enterprise muted, progress retarded.

But, you may whimper, blacks and minorities need more help than, you know, the rest of us. That's liberal code for "white people." The Democrat Party and the Urban League don't mind that at all. The notion that one cannot make it with Uncle Sam's hand up one's rear end, as with a ventriloquist and his dummy, is just fine and dandy. The ventriloquist, after all, controls the dummy. What good would it do the ventriloquist if the dummy got off his lap, walked away, and booked his own act?

Racism still exists, but it can no longer be blamed as a blanket reason for blacks to fail. Too many black Americans are succeeding, thank God, for that to be a valid reason any longer. It is now an shirker's excuse. As Parker writes, "Regarding discrimination, you have to wonder what it will take to get off this convenient excuse. Some 40 million white Americans voted for Barack Obama for president. That is two million more white Americans than voted for John Kerry in 2004."

It is, perhaps, an ironic statement for Parker to make, considering that Kerry and Obama have been and continue to be part of the cabal that encourages groups like the National Urban League - and the myth that black Americans can't make it without them.

Dr. Thomas Sowell on Welfare (Video)

Stop subsidizing lowered expectations, says the highly respected Thomas Sowell. This powerful video (below) was made in 1980, when Sowell debated welfare with then-Pennsylvania Secretary of Welfare, Helen O'Banion. Sowell is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University (see his website). His words are still relevant today. You can see more videos of Thomas Sowell at YouTube. Urine Testing for Public Assistance?

Dear President Obama: My employer pays me for my hard work. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test now and then. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. I have no problem with the urine testing, but what I do have a problem with is my hard-earned, easily-taken taxes being given away by politicians to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check? I mean, I have to pass one to earn it for them! Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet, I really don't. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone who sits around on their lazy ass doing drugs while I work my ass off to support their lifestyle. Can you imagine how much money the government and taxpayers like me would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? Thanks, Pissed Off in Chicago P.S. - Mr. Obama, you have access to highly sensitive information and you're in position of immense responsibility. Do you have to take a random drug test? Just curious. Uncle Sam as Massah

Columnist and frequent talk show guest Star Parker discusses the increasingly socialist nature of the U.S. Government, welfare, and plantation politics. Parker is the founder and president of the Coalition on Urban Renewal and Education (CURE). Instead of solving economic problems, government welfare socialism created monstrous moral and spiritual problems. The kind of problems that are inevitable when individuals turn responsibility for their lives over to others. The legacy of American socialism is our blighted inner cities, dysfunctional inner city schools, and broken black families. Through God's grace, I found my way out. It was then that I understood what freedom meant and how great this country is. I had the privilege of working on welfare reform in 1996, passed by a Republican congress and signed into law by a Democrat president. A few years after enactment, welfare roles were down fifty percent. I thought we were on the road to moving socialism out of our poor black communities and replacing it with wealth producing American capitalism. But, incredibly, we are going in the opposite direction. Full Column at CURE.... BLAGOJEVICH: NATL GUARD TO PATROL CHICAGO

While Chicago's Dictator Richard Daley is busy today blaming the increased violence in the city on the media, the Illinois Goobernor Rod Blagojevich is busy working on a militaristic approach to the problem.
(AP) — Gov. Rod Blagojevich is raising the possibility of bringing in Illinois State Police troopers or even the National Guard to help Chicago fight a recent increase in violence. Blagojevich said he'd meet Wednesday with state police, National Guard and other officials to discuss the options. FULL ARTICLE at CHICAGOBUSINESS.COM...
Neither man, Democrats both,
ignore one of the prime causes of the city's increasing violence: More than forty years of the fallout of the so-called "Great Society." That gigantic series of perpetual social engineering projects has given us the socially and morally deformed children and grandchildren of a Liberal policies of welfare, wrist-slapping criminal courts, and "empowerment" of all the wrong types of activities. So now we have a mayor blaming the media for the increase in fatherless children, rampant drug use, gang membership, violent behavior and so on. Ironically, the media does share a bit of the blame, but Daley's cop out (no pun intended) just doesn't fly with most of us. As for Blagojevich, will his next step be to declare martial law for Chicago?

Drunk, Fighting on Morse Avenue

Poor Soo Liquors just can't win for losing. It's not the liquor, Alderman Moore. It's the scum that crawl along Morse Avenue. Oh, you insist that the booze is the problem? Well tell us this, Alderman Moore: What kind of liquor does Sub Brothers sell across the street? That's right, none. Nada. Zilch. First, The Bench saw an argument last night (June 10) that spilled out of Soo Liquors's doorway onto Morse Avenue her in the 49th Ward. It was not violent, just loud and threatening. Meanwhile, one of Morse Avenue's "regulars," as the cops call them, was passed out on the curb. Drunk out of his mind, he'd apparently had slightly more than his usual daily regimen of hooch. At taxpayers' expense, the useless lump was carted off to an American hospital where he got first class health care (shut up, Hillary) and a square meal. I saw him back on the street today, wearing the same yellow shirt and up to his usual goofy antics. Nice, huh? Say, did you know we've been promised Streetscape this summer? You can clean up the things, Alderman Moore, but that won't clean up the street. Week after week after year after year, we see and put up with aggressive beggars, drunken pigs and domestic altercations on Morse Avenue. Sure, some are in front of Soo, but many are directly in front of - or even inside of - Sub Brothers. Other places, too, to be sure. So what's the problem with Morse Avenue? It ain't Soo Liquors. It's 60 years of bad social policy. The children and grandchildren of President Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" and their spawn are the problem. Is it their fault? No, as pets of the Democrats they've had bad training by their masters. In 2008, we are reaping the unintended consequences of the Democrats' funding of unwed mothers, paying people not to work, liberal judges who slap repeat offenders on their wrists, and politicians who encourage these policies by voting the wrong way on the wrong legislation. Happy Fathers Day, Rogers Park. Too bad there aren't more fathers around here.

Term Limits for CHA Residents

CHA considers term limits on residents, says the headline. HUH? You mean there wasn't already a limit as to how many years they could suck our blood? "CHA's choice of a stick, instead of a carrot approach is poor public policy and will only result in additional homelessness for the City of Chicago," FULL STORY at Chicago Tribune...
