Obama Calls Himself a Dictator. Or King. Or Emperor.

November 18, 2014 - Barack Obama once said that preventing deportation of illegal immigrants without the involvement of Congress would be dictatorial. Western Journalism's Norvell Rose notes that even Obama's natural allies in the liberal media are serving up scathing criticism of his tendencies to act more like a king than president.

Rose wrote that the New York Times "aptly points out" Obama has said on multiple occasions that acting on his own to curb the deportation of millions of illegals without an act of Congress "would amount to nothing less than the dictates of a king, not a president." 

A better analogy might be that Obama's penchant for acting without the peoples' elected representatives in Congress amounts more closely to the dictates of a despotic tyrant. There have been, after all, kings who have been more cooperative with their parliaments or congresses than Obama has been.

WJ's Rose gives us three examples from the NYT piece, "Using Executive Order on Immigration, Obama Would Reverse Long-Held Stance" of  "Obama’s own, very clear and specific words to explain that a president cannot simply move forward on this kind of domestic front without congressional authority," and they are damning:

• In a Telemundo interview in September 2013, Mr. Obama said…I’ll be ignoring the law in a way that I think would be very difficult to defend legally,” Mr. Obama told Jose Diaz-Balart in the interview. “So that’s not an option.”

• …during a Google Hangout in February 2013…“This is something that I have struggled with throughout my presidency,” Mr. Obama said. “The problem is, is that I’m the president of the United States, I’m not the emperor of the United States. My job is to execute laws that are passed.”

• In an immigration speech in San Francisco last November…Mr. Obama…insisted that only Congress had the authority to do what they [immigration protestors] wanted. “The easy way out is to try to yell and pretend like I can do something by violating our laws,” he said.

The NYT is not the only leftist newspaper of note to sling Obama's words back at him. Two editorials in The Washington Post point out Obama's hypocrisy and willingness to sabotage democracy: "In Mr. Obama’s own words, acting alone is ‘not how our democracy functions" on November 17, and from August 5, "Frustration over stalled immigration action doesn’t mean Obama can act unilaterally."

Arizona Governor Using Obama Bucks For Border Security

Absolutely brilliant. Even as the Obama Regime tries to shut down Arizona's willingness to enforce existing immigration laws that the federal government allows to be violated, the governor of the embattled state makes a brilliant move: She's going to use Obama "stimulus" funds to help fight the border flood of illegal aliens. FoxNews reports: Gov. Jan Brewer, claiming to "reject" the Obama administration's assertion that the border is more secure than ever, announced Monday that she's directing $10 million in federal stimulus dollars to tackle smuggling and illegal immigration. On the same day the administration announced its plan to send 1,200 National Guard troops to the southwestern states, Brewer said she's sending the pot of stimulus money to more than a dozen border cities and counties -- as well as several tribes and the Arizona Department of Public Safety. She said the grant money would be targeted toward fighting drug trafficking, illegal immigration and human smuggling. More at FoxNews...

How California Penal Code Deals With Immigration

Barack Obama, Eric Holder and most other Democrats criticized Arizona's recently passed immigration law (SB1070) even before they read it (have they read it yet?). That didn't stop them, and other morons such as Chicago aldermen, from calling supporters of SB1070 Nazis and demanding a boycott of Arizona. But... Have they read Section 833-851.90 of the California Penal Code? They might want to call for a boycott of California and calling residents of that state Nazis, too. 834b. (a) Every law enforcement agency in California shall fully cooperate with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service regarding any person who is arrested if he or she is suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws. (b) With respect to any such person who is arrested, and suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws, every law enforcement agency shall do the following: (1) Attempt to verify the legal status of such person as a citizen of the United States, an alien lawfully admitted as a permanent resident, an alien lawfully admitted for a temporary period of time or as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of immigration laws. The verification process may include, but shall not be limited to, questioning the person regarding his or her date and place of birth, and entry into the United States, and demanding documentation to indicate his or her legal status. (2) Notify the person of his or her apparent status as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws and inform him or her that, apart from any criminal justice proceedings, he or she must either obtain legal status or leave the United States. (3) Notify the Attorney General of California and the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service of the apparent illegal status and provide any additional information that may be requested by any other public entity. (c) Any legislative, administrative, or other action by a city, county, or other legally authorized local governmental entity with jurisdictional boundaries, or by a law enforcement agency, to prevent or limit the cooperation required by subdivision (a) is expressly prohibited.

Protesters at Wrigley Field Demand Arizona Boycott

April 29, 2010 - CHICAGO - VIDEO: About 100 protesters in Chicago gathered at Wrigley Field to demand a total boycott of all Arizona businesses, products and services. The group called for a boycott as way of protesting Arizona's recently passed immigration law, which they call "racist." The event at Wrigley was not very large and was peaceful. The protesters, standing at the corner of N. Clark and W. How Pat Quinn Is Violating His Oath

When Pat Quinn was sworn in as Illinois' new governor on January 29, he swore an oath that included upholding and defending the Constitution of the United States. So far, he has been complicit in violating the very US Constitution that he swore to honor. Every minute that goes by without Governor Quinn demanding that the State of Illinois stop protecting illegal immigrants is another minute that he violates the part of his oath in which he swore to uphold and protect the US Consitution. Here's why. Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution outlines some of the powers granted to Congress. It states that "The Congress shall have power to.... establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization." This means that the US Constitutional gives Congress - and only Congress - the power to establish all laws and rules of naturalization or immigration. Not the states, but Congress and only Congress. Yet, the State of Illinois is known as a "sanctuary state," meaning it ignores and violates federal laws - laws made by Congress - regarding immigration policy. In September, 2007 the US Department of Justice sued the State of Illinois for violating the US Constitution and federal laws pertaining to immigration policy, specifically Illinois' House Bill 1744. A DoJ press release summed it up: The Department of Justice today filed a lawsuit in federal district court seeking to invalidate an Illinois state law that attempts to prevent employers from using DHS's E-Verify system, which allows them to check in real-time whether new hires are authorized to work in the United States. The lawsuit seeks a declaration that a law passed earlier this year by the Illinois legislature and signed by the Governor [Rod Blagojevich] that prohibits employers from enrolling in the Department's E-Verify system is invalid. "E-verify or the Basic Pilot Program, authorized by Congress, is the on-line system that allows employers to verify whether new hires are allowed to work in the United States," said Carl Nichols, Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Justice Department's Civil Division. "Today's lawsuit seeks to invalidate an Illinois state law that frustrates our ability to assist employers in making sure their workforce is legal, and in doing so conflicts with federal law." That Illinois law, passed in 2007 - Section 12(a) of the Illinois Right to Privacy in the Workplace Act - prohibited employers in Illinois "from enrolling in the Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify program." Employers use E-Verify to confirm that new hires are legally authorized to work in the United States. On Sept. 24, 2007, an editorial on Illinois Review asked this: So, are we to expect Attorney General Lisa Madigan to rise to the defense of Governor Rod Blagojevich and the Illinois General Assembly, who are being sued by the feds for passing a state law allow federal immigration laws to be usurped? Illinois Review also noted that, in response to the DoJ suit, Congressman Peter Roskam (R-8) issued a statement, in which he said, "Governor Blagojevich is attempting to preempt federal law by creating a virtual sanctuary within the State of Illinois for illegal aliens. Subsequently, the Department of Justice has filed suit in federal court today, and I applaud their actions." Today, Illinois still forbid the use of E-Verify, but the law is still being litigated (source). In other words, the State of Illinois is busy spending time and your tax dollars defending pro-illegal alien laws that violate Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution. That's the same US Constitution that Pat Quinn just swore (again) to uphold. By the way, Illinois' Attorney General Lisa Madigan also swore an oath to uphold the US Constitution. So did each and every Illinois State Legislator. Governor Blagojevich is no more, but today we have no indication that Governor Quinn will be any different regarding the violation of federal law - and the US Constitution that he swore to uphold - as regards the sanctuary of illegal aliens and the setting of a non-uniform immigration policy. Another Reason to Cheer Blago's Downfall

Over a year ago, CNN exposed Rod Blagojevich as ... I'm lookin' for the word ... as a disloyal, oath breaking bastard. That's right, disloyal. He took an oath to uphold the US Constitution (among other things), and the Constitution gives only Congress the ability to set a uniform immigration policy. Blago, like a number of mayors and other governors, chose to set his own standards for immigration within the State of Illinois. Lou Dobbs had this stunning report, which features two Illinois Congressman, Peter Roskam and Rahm Emanuel and Governor Rod Blagojevich. Why Your Neighbor Kid Is Unemployed

More than 500,000 illegal immigrants are ignoring court orders to leave the US. That's in addition, of course, to the tens of millions of illegal immigrants who are also in the US but just don't have court orders yet to leave. Look at the unemployment situation in your neighborhood, folks, and see how many teens are without work even though they're looking. Then go to your neighborhood pizzeria and look in the kitchen. Visit your local McDonalds. Look at them and see illegal immigrants taking jobs that, according to the Big Lie, "Americans don't want." Then ask those neighbor kids - the ones here legally, that is - if they'd like to have the jobs that the illegals have stolen from them. BOSTON – An estimated half-million immigrants are living in the United States in defiance of deportation orders....U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has stepped up efforts to catch fugitive aliens, as they are known, and now has about 100 "fugitive operations teams" around the country. In the past year, the teams have made 34,000 arrests, more than double the number two years ago. But there are still 560,000 such immigrants in the U.S. Fugitive aliens include people who, like Obama's aunt, sought asylum in the United States but were rejected and ordered to leave the country.
