John Kerry To Visit Paris, But He's In No Hurry

January 12, 2014 - The Cavalcade of Idiots, also known as The Obama Administration, can't help acting, well, idiotically. Embarrassed by their no-show at yesterday's million-plus anti-terror march in Paris, in a show of unity against Islamist terror, John Kerry will make a clumsy (and too-late) trip to make it look like the Administration cares about the recent victims of Islamist terror.

Nobody should be fooled by this act of insincerity. If they really cared, they would have sent someone. The US was officially represented at the march by Jane Hartley, our ambassador to France. But she was already there and she's not a national leader.

The fact that over 40 foreign dignitaries managed to gather in Paris on the same day, and with relatively short notice, is impressive. However, the so-called leader of the free world, the President of the United States, was conspicuously absent. Sure, Barack Obama's a busy guy. But it's safe to say that those heads of state also have a lot on their plates, yet they were able to rearrange their schedules to pay respect to the slain, show their defiance of terrorism, support free speech, and represent their own nations in a respectable manner.

That was too much to ask of Barack Obama, it seems. He couldn't even send a cabinet member to represent him - and the United States - at the solemn event. Not even Secretary of State John Kerry could be bothered to fly to Paris from India, where he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday to discuss stronger economic ties "and set the stage for President Obama’s visit" on January 26.

Kerry will travel to Paris, reports The Daily Mail (UK), "after the U.S. government was shamed for not joining a rally yesterday for victims of the French terror attacks attended by 40 world leaders and a million people." The Daily Mail report says that Kerry tried to explain the absence of a major US official by saying, "I really think that this is sort of quibbling a little bit in the sense that our Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland was there and marched, our ambassador was there and marched, many people from the embassy were there and marched."

Kerry's lame response - that a handful of minor US officials attended the march - seems to demonstrate a lack of understanding of the importance of public relations. It might also indicate an actual disregard for the tragedy of the 17 deaths at the hands of Islamist gunmen last week.

Attorney General Eric Holder was in Paris on Sunday, but he "skipped out early," as the Daily Mail notes in a story with this scorching headline: "America snubs historic Paris rally: Holder was there but skipped out early, Kerry was in India, Obama and Biden just stayed home." He met with European security and terror experts in Paris on Sunday, but Holder did not even go to the march, reports The Telegraph (UK).

Even more incredibly, Kerry won't go directly to Paris until later this week. He'll arrive there on Thursday after stopping in Bulgaria and Switzerland, and then only stay for a part of Friday.

But the US was not the only nation that failed to send a major leader to Paris. Canada's Public Safety Minister Steven Blaney was his nation's only representative at the march. Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, pulled an Obama, but at least Harper takes a gutsier public stance against terrorists.

On Saturday, Blaney laid a wreath outside the offices of Charlie Hebdo, and met with RCMP and Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) agents who are working with French security agencies there. On Sunday, Blaney attended an international terrorism meeting, which Eric Holder also attended. Unlike Holder, however, Blaney attended the unity rally march on Sunday.

Suing the NSA: THREE PRISM-Related Lawsuits - Obama, Holder Named As Defendants

June 12, 2013 - There is a lot of buzz today about "the lawsuit over PRISM" the NSA program created in 2007 to monitor electronic communications.

Most people do not seem to realize that there are at least three separate lawsuits concerned with the NSA's controversial domestic spying program.

One of the suits was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and two other suits are by former Justice Dept. prosecutor Larry Klayman. He is currently the General Counsel for Freedom Watch, Inc.

The Klayman Suits:

"Having already filed a 3 billion dollar class action with regard to the alleged government privacy abuse by the Obama administration and Verizon," reports Before It's News, "Larry Klayman....filed a new $20 billion dollar companion class action suit in DC federal court today. Like the prior class action suit concerning Verizon [filed on June 10], this new case names President Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, the heads of the NSA and the 12 other companies who have collaborated with the government in violating the privacy and other constitutional rights of American citizens. The companies named in the suit which are tied to the government’s PRISM- NSA scheme are: Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Skype, YouTube, Apple, PalTalk, AOL, and Yahoo. The users and subscribers of these companies comprise, combined with the Verizon class plaintiffs, a majority of the entire U.S. citizenry and thus these complementary class action suits pit the American people against their government and corporate enablers."

1) Klayman filed a lawsuit on Monday, June 10. This is "the lawsuit against Verizon." This is Civil Action No.: 1:13-cv-00851 and was filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia. See the full civil complaint here. Klayman  amended it to make it the first class-action lawsuit in response to the publication of a secret court order instructing Verizon to hand over the phone records of millions of American customers on an "ongoing, daily basis." The defendants are: Barack Obama; Eric Holder; Keith Alexander, Director of the National Security Agency; Lowell C. McAdam, Chief Executive Officer of Verizon Communications; Roger Vinson, Judge, U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court; Verizon Communication; National Security Agency; U.S. Department of Justice. 2) The suit filed today (June 12) asks for $20 billion in damages and attorney fees plus an injunction to stop PRISM. The three plaintiffs in this class-action lawsuit: Charles Strange of Pennsylvania, and California private investigators Michael Ferrari and Matt Garrison. The ACLU Suit:

The ACLU file their lawsuit on Tuesday, June 11 in response to "revelations about the NSA's unprecedented mass surveillance of phone calls," says the ACLU website. They say that the NSA program, PRISM, "violates Americans' constitutional rights of free speech, association, and privacy."

The ACLU's case is No. 13 CIV 3994 as filed with the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York. See the full complaint at the ACLU website. This case is commonly called "ACLU v. Clapper" because one of the defendants is Keith B. Clapper, Director of National Security Agency and Chief of the Central Security Service.

Jameel Jaffer, ACLU deputy legal director, said that NSA's PRISM "goes far beyond even the permissive limits set by the Patriot Act and represents a gross infringement of the freedom of association and the right to privacy."

"In other lawsuits against national security policies," reports the New York Times, "the government has often persuaded courts to dismiss them without ruling on the merits by arguing that litigation would reveal state secrets or that the plaintiffs could not prove they were personally affected and so lacked standing in court.  This case may be different. The government has now declassified the existence of the program. And the A.C.L.U. is a customer of Verizon Business Network Services — the recipient of a leaked secret court order for all its domestic calling records — which it says gives it standing."

Obama's Weaponized IRS and Dept. of Justice

May 14, 2013 - The Obama Administration scandals just keep coming. The bungling of the Benghazi tragedy, and events leading up to it, was enough to make the administration scramble for cover and excuses. Within the past week, however, we've learned that the Department of Justice used a secret subpoena to snag Associated Press phone records of reporters and editors, and that the IRS improperly targeted conservative groups for extra scrutiny in 2011 and 2012. These abuses of power have a lot of people upset, including quite a few Democrats.

One of those Democrats is former Clinton Administration attorney Howard Fineman had harsh criticism for the Obama Administration. He was a guest today on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" show (video, left).

Fineman spoke about the AP phone records. "Every possible thing that DoJ could have done wrong, they did wrong in this case. Widely overbroad, in terms of the people whose records they got, no notice whatsoever, before or til long after the fact. No evidence that they exhausted other ways to find the information. One of the key things you have to do is look for other ways to find the information before you do this, and they apparently slapped it on quickly, did it very broadly, and the DoJ guidelines say at the top 'our goal here is to be as unintrusive to the press, as protective of the press as we possibly can be.' So, they violated both the letter and the spirit of their own guidelines in doing this. The question is 'Why?'"

Why? Willful abuse of power for political gain might well be the answer, and Fineman himself has said in the past that the Obama Administration is not above using government agencies as weapons. He said that Sheriff Joe Arpaio is a good example of such abuse.

June 7, 2012 - Sparks flew in a Congressional hearing about Operation Fast and Furious by the House Judiciary committee today. That's the the gun-running scandal that has U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder playing defense. He is accused by Republicans of knowing more about it that he has admitted, and of covering up what they accuse him of knowing. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) laid into Holder during the hearing.
Issa accused Holder of nothing producing enough evidence to the committee. 

Angry, he said to Holder that "since May 18th, nothing, nothing has come from your department, not one shred of paper."

Issa then asked Holder, "Have you and your attorneys produced, internally, the materials responsive to the subpoenas?" Holder responded, "We believe that we have responded to the subpoenas," at which point Issa angrily interrupted him.

"No, Mr Attorney General, you're not a good witness," Issa scolded. "A good witness answers the questions asked. So let's go back again." Have you, and your attorneys, produced internally, the materials responsive - in  other words, have you taken the time to look up our subpoena and find out what material you have responsive to it or have you simply invented a privilege that doesn't exist?"

Digging for truth at Justice
Issa has asked the DOJ for the documents, reports The Hill today, "including wiretap applications it used in the botched federal gun-tracking Operation Fast and Furious, for months." He has "taken preliminary steps to move contempt-of-Congress citations against Holder, but it remains unclear if GOP leaders support that move."

ISSA'S MOLE AT JUSTICE:

Issa has a secret weapon against Holder, however. It has been revealed that he has been getting valuable documents from a mole inside of Holder's Department of Justice. "Issa," reports The Hill, "says the documents show top-ranking DOJ officials signing off on the condemned 'gun-walking' tactics used in the failed operation. Senior DOJ officials have repeatedly denied that they approved the botched initiative." The Hill says that Issa has "apparently broken no laws by being given the information" by his mole, and that the documents have not yet been made public.

"The Obama administration has been forced to pay a pro-life advocate it targeted with a lawsuit $120,000," reports LifeNews.com, "and it has dropped its case against the Florida woman helping women find abortion alternatives." The pro-life advocate is Mary Susan Pine, who counsels women against abortion and steers them to non-abortion alternatives.

The Obama Administration did not like that, and Attorney General Eric Holder charged Pine with blocking an abortion clinic entrance. That, said Holder's Justice Department, was a violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (“FACE”).

In late 2010, Holder went for an injunction to keep Pine and anyone with her off of the driveways of the Presidential Women's Center in West Palm Beach. A lawsuit filed in August 2012 in U.S. District Court was  "the first time anyone in Florida has been charged under the 16-year-old Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act," according to Sharon Levin, vice president and general counsel of the National Abortion Federation as quoted by the Sun-Sentinel.

This is only the first round of the Obama court battle against a pro-life advocate in Florida. It's "a battle that saw the administration unfairly seek to punish a peaceful sidewalk counselor under a law meant to stop violence and intimidation," says LifeNews. Breaking: DOJ Source Leaks Fast and Furious Documents

March 24, 2012 - A developing story this afternoon says that a source at the Department of Justice has been leaking documents related to the Fast and Furious scandal. The source has provided the documents to Congressional investigators, says Fox News.

"The investigation of Operation Fast and Furious escalated this past week," Fox News reports, which "learned a leak at the Justice Department is providing documents to the Congressional investigators. The scope of investigation also includes the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which records show failed to tell ATF its own confidential informants were helping finance the illegal gun purchases."

This latest news comes on the heels of the news that Manuel Celis-Acosta, the chief suspect in the ATF’s "Fast and Furious" investigation, had been caught but released at the U.S.-Mexico border in May 2010. The Los Angeles Times reported two days ago that Celis-Acosta "was also stopped and released two months earlier while in possession of a Colt .38-caliber pistol purchased illegally under the gun-tracking operation."

"The revelation that officials twice declined to arrest their prime suspect," says the March 22 LA Times story, "shows that agents were keenly aware of Celis-Acosta’s activities yet repeatedly turned down opportunities to charge him with felony offenses and bring a quick end to the Fast and Furious probe. Instead, the investigation dragged on for months more, with the loss of about 1,700 U.S. firearms on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border."
The leaked DOJ documents, says Anthony Martin today at The Examiner, "would be a major break in the case and would fuel an escalation in the investigation into the scandal in which the Obama Administration placed U.S. guns directly into the hands of Mexican criminals in order to make a case for new gun control laws."

"Fast and Furious was launched Oct. 31, 2009, and ran until a month after a U.S. Border Patrol agent was killed in December 2010. Two Fast and Furious assault weapons were recovered after his slaying near the border," says the LA Times. "The congressional leaders said they learned of the gun arrest from a list of “Overt Acts” of gun-smuggling suspects that was compiled by an ATF official during Fast and Furious."
The ensuing investigation has produced more frustration than information, it seems.

There are some who have accused U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder of obstructing the Congressional investigation of Fast and Furious, some even calling for his resignation or impeachment. In fact, more than 100 members of Congress want Holder to resign.

Republicans are not the only ones who are critical of Holder. The Daily Caller reported yesterday that two House Democrats are now demanding that Holder’s Department of Justice "release findings from an internal investigation into Operation Fast and Furious before the upcoming November election."

Those congressmen are Reps. Nick Rahall (D-WV) and Gene Green (D-TX). The Daily Caller says that they "told The Washington Times’ Kerry Picket that they want the inspector general to release her report before the election to ensure that any officials from President Barack Obama’s administration who are responsible for Fast and Furious are held accountable."

Breaking: Darrell Issa Threatens Eric Holder With Contempt, Demands Fast and Furious Documents

January 31, 2012 - BREAKING - "House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) threatened Tuesday to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress if the Justice Department did not provide certain documents in response to the committee’s subpoena," reports Politico.com tonight.

"In a letter to Holder," says Politico, "Issa wrote that “this committee will have no alternative but to move forward with proceedings to hold you in contempt of Congress” if Holder and the DOJ didn’t produce documents they demanded relating to the Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal. Holder has until Thursday, Feb. 9. to comply, according to Issa." More at politico.com...

To put it bluntly, Issa is calling Holder a liar. Which may or not be fair. It's just as possible that Holder is merely an incompetent boob who has no idea what is going on within his own Dept. of Justice. Then again, he may simply be a clumsy liar. "Holder knew of Fast & Furious killing months before congressional testimony," says The Washington Times.

For those of you who still don't know about "Fast and Furious," here's a nice summary by the Washington Examiner:


"Fast and Furious is the Justice Department program that allowed thousands of weapons to be sold in 2009 to known buyers for Mexican drug cartels in the hope that the tainted guns would show up at future crime scenes. The department's cockeyed theory was that the "walked" weapons would enable authorities to tie the drug bosses to specific crimes in the United States and Mexico. Unfortunately, the bureaucrats lost track of the weapons until it was too late."

Too late, that is, for murdered U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry who was killed with one of those weapons. (A second suspect was arrested yesterday for Agent Terry's murder.)

"Now," says the Examiner, "Holder wants Americans to believe an obvious fantasy, namely that he didn't know about Fast and Furious until witch-hunting House Republicans made it a highly charged partisan issue a few months ago. But after reviewing new emails made public by the Justice Department last Friday, it seems clear that accepting Holder's claim at face value would be credulous in the extreme."

In other words, Holder is lying through his pearly whites.

Obama on the Edge of Treason

"Barack Obama has a truckload of problems on his hands,"wrote Anthony G. Martin at Examiner.com. "He has enacted policies that fit the description of impeachable offenses. He can be thankful that Congress is controlled by his partners-in-crime, or else he would be facing serious charges."

NOTE: This is one of those long posts that most of you will not read. I don't care; as a blogger, I often write for myself with the always-open invitation for you to peek into my journal. This post is meant as reference, my own primarily, but you are welcome to chew on it.

If you are concerned about the immense damage that Barack Obama has already done and continues to do to the U.S., then please read on.

The main thrust of this post is plain: Barack Obama has commited acts that could be - probably should be - considered as treasonous. If the subject of your President waging economic war on our 50 states, giving Aid and Comfort to our Enemies and working to harm this nation does not interest you, then you probably found this blog by mistake. This post is not meant to be comprehensive, but a primer.

There are already books on the subject of Obama's questionable loyalty, and there will be hundreds more written in the future. Students a century from now will read about the president who tried to destroy the nation with his marxist agenda.

You know the enemy. The enemy wants to kill us or to destroy our economy and society. The enemy drove two airplanes in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The enemy recently went on a killing spree at Fort Hood, Texas.

The enemy is among us, operating a filthy meat market on Devon Avenue on Chicago's north side, consipiring with others to blow up Danish newspapers, among other terrorist acts. The enemy advertises his intentions with videos carried by donkeys through the mountains of Pakistan.

The enemy is, in effect and by proxy, by intent and by unintended consequences, occupying the White House, blinded by his hateful obsession with Tea Parties and other distractions. 

Obama’s problem is that he does not know who the enemy is. To him, the enemy does not squat in caves in Waziristan, clutching automatic weapons and reciting the more militant verses from the Koran: instead, it sits around at tea parties in Kentucky quoting from the US Constitution. Obama is not at war with terrorists, but with his Republican fellow citizens. He has never abandoned the campaign trail. (Emphasis added)

That passage is by Gerald Warner at the Telegraph UK. Warner hits Obama hard for being an indecisive wimp in his column from April 24, 2009. Although Warner's column is now seven months old, it is as fresh today as it was when he wrote it. Obama's ongoing war with FoxNews and conservative talk radio hosts is not just embarrassing, it's dangerous.

The Commander in Chief is allowing himself to be distracted by partisan bullsh*t, all the while deferring time sensitive decisions about increasing troop strength in Afghanistan and other hot issues.

Another excerpt (emphasis added):

If al-Qaeda, the Taliban and the rest .... want to kick America to death, they had better move in quickly and grab a piece of the action before Barack Obama finishes the job himself. Never in the history of the United States has a president worked so actively against the interests of his own people – not even Jimmy Carter. Warner's main beef is Obama's disrespect of CIA (emphasis added): He cynically subordinated the national interest to his partisan desire to embarrass the Republicans. Then he had to rush to Langley, Virginia to try to reassure a demoralised CIA that had just discovered the President of the United States was an even more formidable foe than al-Qaeda. Warner, a Brit, poses a question that so many Americans are asking: President Pantywaist’s recent world tour, cosying up to all the bad guys, excited the ambitions of America’s enemies. Here, they realised, is a sucker they can really take to the cleaners. His only enemies are fellow Americans. Which prompts the question: why does President Pantywaist hate America so badly?

I would stop just short of accusing Obama of actual treason, but he's pushing it. Treason, by definition in the Constitution, is defined simply in the U.S. Constitution, Article 3, Section 3:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court. 

Let's break it down: (1) Obama and his Administration are levying war against the states; (2) Obama has adhered to our Enemies; (3) Obama has given our Enemies both Aid and Comfort; (4) There are billions of witnesses, not merely two, to Obama's overt Acts; (5) There has not (yet) been a Confession in open Court, but that's being worked on.

So, then, Obama's Acts of Treason, point by point:

(1) LEVYING WAR AGAINST THE STATE: Obama's war on the 50 states is not being waged with guns or bombs, but with more and more controls that violate the states' Tenth Amendment rights. It's gotten so bad that there is a very active movement to fight the Obama power grab.

The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution is very clear: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” In other words, the Federal Government should not meddle in affairs that the Constitution says are completely in the hands of state legislatures, not in the hands of the U.S. Congress nor of the President. The movement I referred to above is called, simply, the Tenth Amendment Movement.

Writer James Perloff explains (all emphasis added):
... a new campaign called the Tenth Amendment Movement is now sweeping state legislatures across the nation. This is not an effort by the states to secede from the Union, but an attempt to persuade the federal government to abide by the Constitution. Leading the charge is Oklahoma. On February 18, its House of Representatives passed House Joint Resolution 1003 by a vote of 83 to 13, resolving “that the State of Oklahoma hereby claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States.” HJR 1003 also states “that this serves as Notice and Demand to the federal government, as our agent, to cease and desist, effective immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of these constitutionally delegated powers.” It directs that copies of the resolution be distributed to, among others, the president of the United States, the president of the U.S. Senate, and the speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. 
Sound familiar? It should, if you know your history. It recalls nothing less than the Declaration of Independence, unanimously signed by the Continental Congress of the thirteen united States of America on July 4, 1776. The first paragraph of that document says this: When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

Although Oklahoma and other states are not moving to "dissolve the political bands which have connected them" with the Federal Government, those states are demanding that the Federal Government, lead by Obama, respect their rights as provided by the Constitution. The reason for the demand is simple: The Obama Administration has been waging a war of economics and law against the states.

Gene Healy of the CATO Institute wrote this about that on November 17, 2009: Not yet a year into his administration, Obama’s record on 10th Amendment issues is already clear: He’ll let the states have their way when their policies please blue team sensibilities and he’ll call in the feds when they don’t. Thus, he’ll grant California a waiver to allow it to raise auto emissions standards, but he’ll bring the hammer down when the state tries to cut payments to unionized health care workers. That’s not how it’s supposed to work. As Madison explained in Federalist 45, the powers delegated to the federal government were “few and defined,” to be exercised mainly on “external objects” like foreign policy and international trade. All else — criminal law, marriage, social policy — remained with the states or the people.

Another complaint, quoted from the Declaration of Independence, is appropriate today and applies as well to Obama in 2009 as it did to King George in 1776: "He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance."

(2) OBAMA HAS ADHERED TO OUR ENEMIES: Kind words and overly generous tolerance of Fidel Castro, Mahmoud Ahmedinejad and others, including the enemies of democracy in Honduras such as Hugo Chavez. High-level advisors who openly admit their admiration for Mao Tse Tung, who died a sworn enemy of the West. I refer you to this short but excellent post. (For background, read this.) And we should not forget Obama's historic embracing of homegrown enemies of the United States, most notably but not exclusively, bomber-terrorist and close friend William Ayers.

(3) OBAMA HAS GIVEN OUR ENEMIES BOTH AID AND COMFORT: On November 20, 2009 House Republican leaders sent a letter to Barack Obama. It said, in part, "For over two months you have been engaged in a strategy review that has left the country, our military, and allies uncertain about your commitment to the war in Afghanistan and unsure about your will to do what is necessary to win this conflict. Worse, we fear the process has emboldened our enemies." That letter urged Obama to act on Gen. Stanley McChrystal's request for more U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Every hour that Obama fails to act provides more Aid and Comfort to the Taliban.

Additionally, Obama and his marxist circle believe that it's better to engage those sworn to our destruction in conversation that to engage then in battle or tough negotiation. More Aid and Comfort. "Aid" is not defined by the Constitution, so it's meaning could be broadly interpreted. Emotional and psychological encouragement is certainly a form of "Aid," and certainly provides our enemies with "Comfort," which is also left undefined.

(4) THERE ARE MILLIONS OF WITNESSES, not merely two, to Obama's overt Acts as described above. As I said earlier, this is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of Obama's disturbing acts. It merely scratches the surface.

AG Eric Holder, Sloth

The Democrat Party loves to pretend that they care about civil rights. Equally applied, of course. Sadly, they do not care, as demonstrated by the now-infamous case of those New Black Panthers intimidating voters at a polling station last year (see the amazing video and the followup news report). If they care so much, why the delay by Obama's Justice Department in an investigation into a clear violation of voters' civil right?... The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights asked Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. on Wednesday [Sept 30] to name a Justice Department official to oversee the production of what it called "our overdue information requests" for documents in the dismissal of a civil complaint against members of the New Black Panther Party accused of disrupting a Philadelphia polling place in the November elections. Hate Crimes Bill Won't Protect Straight Honkies

"Hate crimes" is just another way of saying "thought crimes." George Orwell's predictions of Big Brother punishing us for what we think is a reality in America today, and it's about to get worse if Senate Bill 909 (S.909) passes today. Also called "The Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act," S.909 is officially called the "Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act." This is the bill that, among other weird things, would make make pedophiles a "protected class" of people and public criticism of child molesters a "hate crime." Thank you, Democrats. What Orwell didn't see coming, however, was a Caucasion-hating, heterophobic Big Brother. In reality today, Big Brother is Barack Obama. Today, Politico writes about S.909, a Democrat amendment to a defense spending bill: Republicans are protesting Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s move to attach a controversial hate-crimes proposal to a must-pass defense bill, but they may not have the votes to stop it. In an effort to circumvent GOP opposition, the Nevada Democrat has proposed the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Act as an amendment to a $680 billion defense authorization bill. Full Article.... Apparently the Democrats feel that S.909 would not fare well as a stand-alone bill, so they are parasitically attaching it to a defense authorization bill. (See " Carter Clews summed it up well in his NetRight Nation column on July 14: The highly charged "Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009" (S. 909) would make it a federal crime to violently attack anyone you hate. Unless, of course, the anyone you hate happens to be a white heterosexual. That's right, S. 909 -- aka, the "hate crimes bill" -- being pushed through by the Obama Administration as one of its highest legislative priorities would make it a federal crime to commit a violent act against anyone based on race or gender orientation -- unless the race was Caucasian and the orientation was towards the opposite sex. Full Article.... The whole notion of "hate crimes" is repugnant to many of us. Is it wrong to physically attack somebody, for example, just because they are homosexual? Is it wrong to physically attack someone because of their race, ethnicity, or any other reason? Yes, of course it is, but "hate crimes" laws elevate those attacks to a higher level than identical attacks made on somebody who is not a member of a "protected class"of people. Examples of a protected class would be any non-white person, handicapped persons, homosexual persons, and - you get the idea. It is wrong to punch, kick, shoot, stab, spit on or kill any person for any reason other than self-defense, and even then there are limits. The question, however, is why is it more wrong to do those things to some people, and less wrong for others? The obvious answer - the only answer - is a hatred for the others. Those "others" are heterosexual white people. If you break somebody's nose or even kill them, how are their injuries any worse for the motivation having been "hate" rather than robbery, rape or simple lunacy? "Hate crimes" legislation involves much more than simple phyical attack, however. It goes to thought and speech. (See "Thought Crime Bills Threaten Talk Radio") An example: If some jerk yells "nigger!" or "faggot!" at someone on the street, that jerk can be arrested for and charged with a hate crime in many cities, including Chicago. However, if another jerk yells "honky!" or "cracker!" or "bitch!" then no "hate crime" has officially occured. Fair? No, for more than one reason: Both the "honky!" screamer and the "nigger" screamer are jerks, but they are treated differently. Neither, however, should be arrested for yelling, which is, after all, speech. Last time I checked, expressing one's opinion is a guaranteed right in this country, at least the Constitution says so. In practice however, that has not been true for a while, and it's about to get much worse. "Hate crimes" legislation is the ultimate manifestation of "political correctness." AG Eric Holder, Race Baiter

Our new US Attorney General, a black man in a very high office, called the United States a "nation of cowards" when it comes to race and talking about race. Eric Holder, the nation's first African-American attorney general, insulted the entire country today when he spoke to Justice Department employees. The gathering was meant to highlight Black History Month. Would more and honest discussion of race relations be welcome? Sure they would, but what does Eric Holder think of Barack Obama's campaign last year doing back flips to prevent bringing the topic of race into any discussion about the election? He didn't go there. Holder did not acknowledge the fact that it was a whitefolk-controlled Congress that created Black History Month and Martin Luther King Day, and whitefolk-controlled state legislatures that adopted them both as state holidays. He did not mention the fact that a cartoonist is under attack today for showing a dead ape and referring to the author of the stimulus bill; the primary author was Rep. David Obey (D-WI), a white guy, but the lunatic Left is having a spasm of paranoid heebeejeebies by assuming it was a slur against Barack Obama, a white man with some African ancestory. Holder ignored the fact that "political correctness" has had a chilling effect on open and honest discussions of race and race relations. Holder did not mention the fact that there is no "White Congressional Caucus," but there is a "Black Congressional Caucus." Across the country, there are "Black Chambers of Commerce," but nobody dares have a "White Chamber of Commerce." The double standards of the Left are stunning. Holder did not mention that. Nor did he say how he feels about the fact that over 90 percent of Black Americans voted for Barack Obama because of race, and chose to vote agains John McCain because he was white. Whereas, on the other hand, tens of millions of whites and other non-blacks voted for Barack Obama, not caring that he is half black, because they are not obsessed with the race of a candidate - or anybody else, as Eric Holder admitted today that he is. Holders own words, from "Remarks as Prepared for Delivery by Attorney General Eric Holder at the Department of Justice African American History Month Program - Wednesday, February 18, 2009"... Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards. Though race related issues continue to occupy a significant portion of our political discussion, and though there remain many unresolved racial issues in this nation, we, average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about race. Perhaps that's because that vast majority of us are not as obsessed with race as Holder and so many other liberals and Democrats are. I'm a white guy, and when I walk down the street or engage a stranger in conversation, I don't think in terms of race (unless it's thrown in my face by somebody like Eric Holder). Holder and his fellow travelers do, constantly, and they project their own paranoia and onto others. The chip on Holder's shoulder should not be ours to carry, but there he was today, trying to strap it onto our shoulders. The entire speech was an excercise in keeping whatever racial tensions there still are in the United States stirred up. Keep black people convinced that they are all kept down, all victims, and you have a nice constituency that looks to you, the Government Officials, for protection. That gets votes. Holder, Obama, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and all the rest know that if Black Americans realize that Jim Crow is dead, that the Union won the Civil War, and that a black man is the Attorney General under a President who is half black, some might start to also realize that they no longer need to vote for liberals who offend the essentially conservative values of most Black Americans. As Diane Alden wrote, "By demonizing Republicans and conservatives the left can continue to impose the big lie, which will be accepted as gospel by minorities, whom Democrats believe 'owe' them." (Source) In other words, speeches like Holden's use partial truths to perpetuate a larger lie in order to perpetuate their political grip on minority groups. All of Holder's speech is noteworthy, but I want to highlight a couple of passages for special attention (emphasis added): I, like many in my generation, have been fortunate in my life and have had a great number of wonderful opportunities. Some may consider me to be a part of black history. But we do a great disservice to the concept of black history recognition if we fail to understand that any success that I have had, cannot be viewed in isolation. I stood, and stand, on the shoulders of many other black Americans. Admittedly, the identities of some of these people, through the passage of time, have become lost to us - the men, and women, who labored long in fields, who were later legally and systemically discriminated against, who were lynched by the hundreds in the century just past and those others who have been too long denied the fruits of our great American culture. The names of too many of these people, these heroes and heroines, are lost to us. Let's pause for a brief comment here. I agree that we must not forget the sad history of slavery and its abuses, and the subsequent sad history of discrimination. But must we constantly drum it up? Not just during Black History Month, either; we get this kind of talk year round. We shouldn't forget the Jewish Holocaust, or the Cambodian Holocaust, or the hundred of years of abuse the Irish took from the English, or any abuse of entire peoples. But for God's sake, do we hear Jews, Cambodians or Irish constantly whining about past abuses? Holder continued (emphasis added): But the names of others of these people should strike a resonant chord in the historical ear of all in our nation: Frederick Douglass, W.E.B. DuBois, Walter White, Langston Hughes, Marcus Garvey, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Joe Louis, Jackie Robinson, Charles Drew, Paul Robeson, Ralph Ellison, James Baldwin, Toni Morrison, Vivian Malone, Rosa Parks, Marion Anderson, Emmit Till. These are just some of the people who should be generally recognized and are just some of the people to whom all of us, black and white, owe such a debt of gratitude. It is on their broad shoulders that I stand as I hope that others will some day stand on my more narrow ones. That's good list of American heroes but uhm, would it have killed Eric Holder to include President Abraham Lincoln, or the white abolitionists of the early 1800's? Would it have been too much trouble to mention the thousands upon thousands of white kids in the 1960's who risked brutal attack and even death to march for civil rights? Couldn't Eric Holder have acknowledged the courageous work of white senators and white congressmen and white state legislators around the country who spoke up for civil rights, drafted anti-discrimination laws and passed them, at a time when doing so risked losing elections and even being targeted for violent attack? A mention of the whitefolks who helped the Underground Railroad bring thousands of slaves north to freedom would have been a nice touch. Holder omitted mention of another hero, white guy Salmon P. Chase, known as “the Attorney General of Fugitive Slaves” for defending runaway slaves. No, Holder didn't bother with any of those, although he is undoubtedly aware of all of them. An acknowledgement of those things and those people - those white people - would have diluted his race baiting message and his effort to keep many people believing that Governor George Wallace is still standing in front of the school entrance, arms crossed, vowing to keep out the niggras. What's truly said is that many people swallow that kind of stealth propaganda. A final note: Many of the people who read this post will be upset by my calling Barack Obama a "white man with black ancestry." But that is no less accurate than it is to call Vanessa Williams "black." It is more accurate than simply calling Obama "black." It would be just as accurate as calling him, by the way, a black man with white ancestry. And here's the irony: Liberals like Eric Holder, who demand a more honest dialog about race, get sweaty palms over things like that. The reason is simple: While it's easy to demand an honest, from-the-heart discussion about race, the protocols of the Liberals' own Stalinistic political correctness do not allow it.
