Janeane Garofalo, Protector of Lowly Negroes

Last week, Janeane Garofalo said that Tea Party protest participants are racists. She said Tea Partiers are "a bunch of teabagging rednecks," and "this is about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism straight up." Garofalo was speaking on Keith Olberman's show on MSNBC. Olbermann never questioned her or challenged her on those assertions Only a Liberal whackjob could equate opposition to higher taxes and increasing government control of our lives to racism. But then, the Liberals have long been quick to label anybody they oppose as racists, Nazis or fascists. It's easier for them to do that than to actually discuss the issue intelligently. Garofalo's remarks set off a firestorm of reaction, including this one: "As a black man, I love it when ignorant white women like Janeane Garofalo speak for all blacks. It's thrilling to me that Janeane would take time out of her busy Hollyweird life to protect me and my peeps -- the downtrodden, the oppressed...the lowly Negro." So writes friend Kevin on his blog, "The Black Sphere." He points out a dirty little secret. The secret is that Liberal White Folk - consciously or otherwise - consider black people and other minority groups as pets. Yes, pets. Protect the poor dumb pets, make sure they crap in the right places, give them treats when the perform little tricks for you, give them free food. Kevin rants on: Black people, wake up. What you have here is a no talent racist hack arguing for you, when there is no real issue. And it doesn't take a genius to connect the dots on this one. Garofalo is the prototypical elitist, who believes blacks to be weak and stupid. With those perceptions of blacks, she is the perfect representative of the racist, elitist Democrat Party. How did we survive without them? How indeed? How would your dog or cat fare in the wild? You need to keep them in the house or on a leash. Any good pet owner knows, too, that you must give your pet reassurance. Make them feel safe. Protect them. They cannot survive without you. The pet owner feels a sense of self worth by virtue of being such a kind, loving person. It rarely crosses the mind of the pet owner, however, that the pet dog or cat is a slave in a gilded cage. The dog or cat, however, is always mindful of the fact that de massa can punish you severely if you misbehave. Cook County's Slave Labor

Slave labor is alive and thriving in Cook County, USA. CNB photographed slave labor at work in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood on January 30, 2009. The men shown in these photos were shoveling snow at the intersection of N. Broadway and W. Wilson. (A year ago, on January 27, 2008, The Bench did a story about slave laborers in Rogers Park.) The slaves, also called "inmates" or "prisoners," are in the custody of the Cook County Sheriff, and are put to work in a program called "S.W.A.P." That stands for "Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program." It should be noted that the words "inmate," "prisoner" do not appear in the Cook County Sheriff's description of the program. Although the men are not literally in chains, the S.W.A.P. work units are essentially chain gangs. Here is a description of the S.W.A.P. program, taken from the Cook County Sheriff's web site: "...the Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program (S.W.A.P.) has been one of the most successful, fastest-growing and beneficial programs in the history of the criminal justice system in Cook County. It puts drunk drivers and other low-level offenders to work on the streets of Cook County, doing everything from assisting the Medical Examiner in handling the bodies of victims during the 1994 heat crisis to sandbagging during the 1991 Chicago Flood and the cleaning up after 1996 suburban floods, to removing graffiti and beautifying the County’s public property. Everyone benefits: city and suburban citizens; the jail from reduced overcrowding; and the offenders themselves, who show low recidivism afterwards." The Cook County Sheriff's web site proudly notes this: Under a partnership with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), SWAP teams are cleaning buses at the CTA’s five busiest terminals, “This cooperative program gives us cleaner buses at no cost, and the offenders are performing useful work,” said [former] CTA Chairman Valerie Jarrett. "At no cost." Indeed. Local officials love free S.W.A.P. slave labor. Slaves don't usually charge their masters much for the labor they provide. Sheriff’s Work Alternative Programs are used in other counties around the country, not just in Cook County. Slavery seems to be a popular source of labor for the governments of those counties, and the cities and town within them. Free slave labor takes away paid work for non-offenders. Every time a S.W.A.P. group shovels a sidewalk, it could be taking away a paid job from a local teenager. An example of this is the Highway Department of the Township of Schaumburg (IL). In a message from Robert Fecarotta, Highway Commissioner, he lists things that can be expected from his department in 2009. One of them is excerpted here (emphasis added): Continued participation in the S.W.A.P. Program. The department will continue to use this free labor force provided by the Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program. (www.schaumburgtownship.org/highway.htm) How many paying jobs are killed by that? How many people would get that highway department work - and be paid for it - if Schaumburg did not use Cook County's "free labor force?" FEDS BUST "SLAVE LABOR" IN MISSISSIPPI

Agriprocessors is in big trouble, a kosher food processing plant, and they just got busted big time. Today it was for "nearly 600 suspected illegal aliens" in their employ, but The Bench sniffed around and found that only a few weeks ago they were charged with employing over 50 under-age workers. It is being reported late this afternoon by AP that "Federal officials say nearly 600 suspected illegal immigrants were detained in a raid on a manufacturing plant in southern Mississippi, making it the largest such sweep in the country." [Source] On August 5, however, it was reported by the New York Times that Mississippit State labor investigators "identified 57 under-age workers who were employed at a kosher meatpacking plant in Postville, Iowa, and have asked the attorney general to bring criminal charges against the company for child labor violations." LIKE SLAVE LABOR Back on July 27, the NY Times reported that some of the illegal aliens were also under-age: One, a Guatemalan named Elmer L. who said he was 16 when he started working on the plant’s killing floors, said he worked 17-hour shifts, six days a week. In an affidavit, he said he was constantly tired and did not have time to do anything but work and sleep. “I was very sad,” he said, “and I felt like I was a slave.” FULL STORY... Way back on May 14, The Jewish Week reported that the federal government was working on allegations of abuse and illegal hiring practices: Two legal experts suggested this week that the federal government could be laying the groundwork for possible indictments against the owners of the country’s largest kosher meat manufacturer. Agriprocessors has several plants around the nation, and all seem to be under fire for a number of alleged violations, including animal cruelty.

The Party of Slavery and Racism

No, not them, silly. It's the Democrat Party. I know your socialist professors didn't tell you about this, so here's some remedial edumuhcation for you. Proof? Here's an excerpt from a great column by Bruce Bartlett. Can you handle the truth? After the war, the Democratic Party held a lock on the South for more than 100 years. All of the "Jim Crow" laws that prevented blacks from voting and kept them down were enacted by Democratic governors and Democratic legislatures. The Ku Klux Klan was virtually an auxiliary arm of the Democratic Party, and any black (or white) who threatened the party's domination was liable to be beaten or lynched. Democrats enacted the first gun-control laws in order to prevent blacks from defending themselves against Ku Klux Klan violence. Still Waiting for Reparations

My father was Jewish, my mother was Protestant. I am, therefore, not a Jew by strict Jewish law, and in fact I took Jesus into my heart late in my life. My Christianity is a private matter; I am no evangelist. I am proud of my Jewish heritage and cherish my Jewish friends. No, this is not a religious rant, so my secularist friends can just calm down. This Is A Political Rant Today is the first day of Passover. The definition of Passover: Pesach (Passover) begins on the night of the fifteenth day of the month of Nissan and lasts for eight days. This holiday commemorates the departure of the nation of Israel from Egypt. Pesach marks the birth of the Jewish people as a nation led by Moshe (Moses) [about 3,300]years ago. This is a as much a celebration of our spiritual freedom as the physical liberation from slavery. Yes, slavery! See, folks, nobody has a monopoly on suffering. Virtually all of us have slaves somewhere in our lineage, whether it was 143 years ago or 3,300 years ago. No Reparations from Egypt The enslavement of the Jews in Egypt ended over 3,000 years ago. They were slaves in Egypt for centuries. Leaving Egypt, they walked into a desert of uncertainty, fear, hard times. Three thousand years of persecution and numerous attempts to wipe all of them out awaited. Yet somehow, the Jews recently produced Albert Einstein. They had no welfare programs waiting for them, no affirmative action plans to help them, and to this day Egypt has not paid one penny of reparations. Egypt has never apologized for enslaving the Jews. The Egyptians did not kill half a million of their own to free the Jews, and there sure as hell were no equal rights laws or voting rights amendments waiting for them. Get Back To Me in 3,000 Years I was walking down Morse Avenue a few months ago with a friend. He and I are both white. As we passed a group of five or six young guys, one of them told us to get the f*** off the street. "Come back after you pay us reparations, honky," he said. Tell you what, friend. We'll talk about reparations for you in another 3,000 years. Let's see if you've produced an Einstein by then. In the meantime, I check my mailbox everyday, looking for a check from the Egyptian government. Perhaps Jesse Jackson will get involved and urge them to make reparations to a people so wronged so long ago. Perhaps.

Slave Laborers Shovel Chicago Sidewalks

Thirty prisoner of the Cook County penal system moved foot by foot, yard by yard down N. Sheridan Road today. They shoveled the sidewalks as sheriff's deputies watched, taking away employment opportunities from unemployed people in Rogers Park and elsewhere. Oh, and posing a very real safety and security problem. Why are these guys out taking away neighborhood jobs? Why can't a dozen high school kids, or anybody else for that matter, be employed by the county for 6.00 or 7.00 dollars an hour? Why is the county shoveling our sidewalks? Why are thirty criminals, armed with snow shovels, allowed to walk down N. Sheridan Road? These men are part of the SWAP program (Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program). In some parts of the country, this is called a chain gang. In most parts of the world, it is known as slave labor. The Cook County Sheriff describes the SWAP program: "During the first 30 days of camp, each detainee is assigned to a work detail inside the Boot Camp facility. If a detainee exhibits proper behavior, he will be given the right to participate in off–site work details. Such work details will be similar to the service provided by the Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program (SWAP), in which nonviolent offenders work on public service projects like cleaning streets, parks and vacant lots while being supervised by specially trained deputies." READ MORE... Such a deal. If a detainee behaves himself, he has earned the privilege of shoveling public sidewalks. Now there's a strong incentive for you.
