College President Tells Cry-Baby Students To Grow Up

Dr. Everett Piper, President of
Oklahoma Wesleyan University
December 1, 2015 - In the wake of numerous incidents of college students (young adults) demonstrating their politically correct insanity, it is refreshing to see a college president tell them to grow a spine.

In fact, Piper calls the actions of those students "ideological fascism." It is, unfortunately, nothing new for the Left to ban speech that offends them -- and it's not limited to the "Millennial" generation -- but lately it's gone beyond goofiness to full-fledged insanity. Witness the recent stompy-foot whining from students at Yale and the University of Missouri.

Dr. Everett Piper, President of Oklahoma Wesleyan University, recently published an open letter to the student body in the OKWU News website. Piper's post was in response to a complaint from a student who said he felt “victimized” by a sermon. In his response to the student, Piper pulled no punches in saying that "Oklahoma Wesleyan is not a 'safe place', but rather, a place to learn." Piper also said that "If you want the chaplain to tell you you’re a victim rather than tell you that you need virtue, this may not be the university you’re looking for."

If You Hate It, Why Do You Miss It?

Another brilliant cartoon from Zack Rawsthorne, creator of Diversity Lane. Click to enlarge. One of the kids sees the politically correct adults looking at the heavey winter snows outside, and asks a good question. "If global warming is so horrible, how come they're not happy that it's all kinda fizzling out?" The answer, of course, is that the "fizzling out" of global warming presents a couple of dilemmas for many liberal adults. The evidence that global warming is a hoax mounts weekly, and that threatens the false belief system of the liberals. Also, if global warming proves to be a pack of lies (as it has), the liberals have one less excuse to complain and point fingers in with oh-so-superior attitude. Israel's President Says Merry Christmas (Obama Refuses)

Israeli President Shimon Peres sends his wishes "each of you and all of us a happy and merry Christmas." (Videos below.) That's nice of President Peres, really very nice. He delivered his 50-second greeting in a warm, sincere tone. Contrast that to Barack Hussein Obama, who gave a chilly 3-second "Happy holidays, best wishes for the new year" via Organizing For America, his puppet socialist propaganda machine. Why is it that the president of Israel has no problem wishing Christians a "merry Christmas," but the religiously non-descript, marxist Obama just can't force himself to utter that offensive phrase?

A Jihadist By Any Other Name....

... is still a terrorist. Robert Spencer posts a fascinating piece that deals with the idiocy of politically "correct" speech, the idiocy of the U. S. Department of State, and the madness of the modern world in which one is often afraid to call a spade a spade. What really seems to have spurred the piece was a recent New York Slimes op-ed titled "What Do You Call a Terror(Jihad)ist?," by P. W. Singer and Elina Noor on June 2, 2008. Robert wrote, "This New York Times op-ed defends the government's new PC guidelines forbidding use of the term 'jihadists' to describe the people who are waging war against the U.S. It does so artfully, but ultimately in a way that exposes the faulty assumptions of this entire initiative." You might say that Spencer is whimsically irked by the Singer and Noor and their defense of Orwell Speak. He goes on and on with great style, at one point noting this: Osama bin Laden did not whisper into the ear of Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406), the pioneering historian and sociologist, the idea that “in the Muslim community, the holy war is a religious duty, because of the universalism of the Muslim mission and (the obligation to) convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force.” In Islam, the person in charge of religious affairs is concerned with “power politics,” because Islam is “under obligation to gain power over other nations.” In other words, says Spencer, this crap didn't start with bin Laden. As I often ask my Liberal acquaintances who blame the U.S. for the events of 9/11, What did the United States do to piss off the Arab muslims so much that they felt compelled to invade and burn Constantinople in 673-678 A.D., hundreds of years before the first Crusade and centuries before George W. Bush was born? I love asking Liberals questions like that. It make their heads explode. Figuratively, of course. Robert Spencer will probably explode a few heads, too, with his article. Unlike the jihadists and terrorists, he will do it figuratively. FULL ARTICLE at Jihad Watch... RELATED: More Articles by Robert Spencer

John McCain: Back Stabbing Wimp

The Los Angeles Times reports that,"A speaker introducing Republican presidential candidate John McCain at a rally here Tuesday ridiculed Democratic contender Barack Obama for his intention to meet with "world leaders who want to kill us" and pointedly referred to the Illinois senator as "Barack Hussein Obama." [Emphasis mine]

Talk show host Bill Cunningham
warmed up the crowd at a McCain rally in Cincinnati. He committed a horrible, horrible sin:

He called Barack Obama by his full name: Barack Hussein Obama.
O-mi-God. Pardon my French, folks, but this has become a Big Fucking Deal.

The main stream press, of course,
is playing up squishy McCain's apology like it was some magnanimous gesture, a brave and selfless act of civility. Bullshit.

Before I get into why it's bullshit, let me correct the record. The mainstream press - most of them - keep referring to Cunningham as a "local talk show host." Well, that's partly true. On Sunday nights, you see, he has a live coast-to-coast show that replaced Matt Drudge's show after Drudge retired from the airwaves a few months ago. In fact, Bill Cunningham is a national talk show host, with one of the largest audiences in the business, albeit once a week.

Back to the bullshit.
Fact: Barack Obama's middle really is Hussein. Fact. Hillary Clinton's middle name is Rodham. Nobody gets upset when she is called "Hillary Rodham Clinton." Why are people upset when somebody calls Barack - accurately - "Barack Hussein Obama?"

Everything Cunningham said was true,
including the fact that Obama's middle name is Hussein. But some in the Obama camp, and some Liberals in general, have got their underwear all in tight bunches because... because... well, because Cunningham had the nerve to reveal --- Barack's middle name! O-mi-God.

McCain wimped out big time. He crawled on his belly to the press, and declared in a virtually quivering tone, "Any offense that was inflicted I apologize for," he said, adding that he was outside the building when Cunningham spoke.

What a weak sister.
What a pitiful, spineless lump of shit McCain is. He is apologizing for something that should not be apologized for, and issuing it on behalf of the person who said it but without that person’s consent.

It gets worse:
“Whatever suggestion was made that was in any way disparaging to the integrity, character [or] honesty of either Sen. Obama or Sen. Clinton was wrong, and I condemn it."

He owes no apology
to Obama for another person using - o-mi-god - Obama’s real middle name. But why the hell did McCain decide to include Clinton in the apology?

What kind of character does McCain have in 2008?
This once brave man - far braver and tough than most, for certain - has turned into a frightened little puss. Imagine this guy as President of the United States. Imagine one of his top advisors or cabinet members speaks some hard truth, but certain lily livered members of society are offended by the hard truth. Will McCain bow to them, kiss their asses and apologize on behalf of the truth speaker? Will McCain put political correctness ahead of tough negotiation with our foreign enemies?

If this guy is willing to condemn a talk show host for speaking the truth,
which was merely the usage of Obama’s full name, how will he handle Senators and Congressmen of his own party speaking truth? How would he handle his own generals speaking truth?

As for those who were offended,
this wimpy woman says “she was ‘mortified’ by Cunningham's remarks. ‘I'm . . . Cincinnati-raised, and to go up and make it comedy . . . ‘ she said. ‘There were people around me . . . who were embarrassed, and some were even saying they wanted to get up and leave.’”

Wimpy voters supporting Wimpy McCain.
Good Lord. I suspect that if John McCain had known what he would become, and what kind of weak kneed gutless wimps would support him in this weak kneed, politically correct dilution of the United States of America, he would have begged the North Vietnamese to kill him.

The late, great William F. Buckley is surely looking down and weeping.

Girls Just Wanna Have Guns

Guns Might Have Prevented NIU Massacre

Political correctness killed those students at NIU last week. If the administrators of NIU had been smart enough to allow their security guards to carry firearms, and had an armed guard been in the large hall where a nutjob opened fire from a stage last week, the guard might have been able to take down the shooter before more people were shot. It must also be noted that metal detectors could have helped, as well.

If political correctness had not allowed the lunatic shooter to be on the streets, rather than institutionalized as we now know he should have been, he could not have killed those students and badly injured more. His girlfriend would not be heartbroken today. I wouldn't be writing this post and you wouldn't be reading it.

If the State of Illinois would butch up and allow conceal-carry, Susie or Justin or Britney sitting in the fourth row of that auditorium might have been able to take down the insane killer before he could get off a second shot.

48 of our 50 states allow conceal-carry in some form or another. Illinois is one. Wisconsin, where the NIU shooter bought his weapon, is the other. But the usual crowd of spineless, clueless anti-gun propagandists have been screaming for more gun control. Idiotic, that. Chicago already has strict gun control. Do the gangsters care? Do they obey those laws? Drugs are strictly illegal, too. But walk down any street in Chicago, Morse Avenue for example, and you'll pass plenty of people who are carrying guns and/or drugs. About the only people in Chicago, in Illinois (and Wisconsin) who conceal and carry firearms are the criminals.

The law abiding people are denied the legal right to do so. That's you, pal. Instead of screaming for more gun control, we should all be demanding the right to carry a registered weapon to be able to defend ourselves, our families, our friends, our classmates.

Why You Should Not CAIR

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) positions itself publicly as a sort of Muslim version of the Jewish Anti-Defamation League (ADL). But there are profound differences. For one thing, the ADL generally does not call law enforcement officers "crackers" and other racially charged names whenever a Jewish person is arrested. In the summer of 2007, a couple of Egyptian men were arrested when explosives were found in their car. CAIR immediately jumped into the fray, charging racial profiling before they even knew all of the facts. CAIR and their lockstep supporters assumed that the law enforcement officers were racist and proclaimed that the men were just carrying fireworks. This proved to be untrue, and CAIR - in a very rare move for CAIR - has backed down and admitted that they were wrong. Canada Free Press has an excellent report about this case: The Council on American-Islamic Relations has backed off on its defense of two Muslim college students caught driving near a sensitive U.S. Navy base with explosives and a how-to video on bomb making. Last August, when police in South Carolina arrested University of South Florida students Ahmed Mohamed and Youssef Megahed for possession of four pipe bombs and a homemade video on how to make detonators for improvised explosive devices, CAIR sprang to the students’ defense. Ebonics and Subtitles

Some jackass left a very stupid comment on a recent post, titled "Gonna Git His Ass Whooped," which featured a video by The Bench in which some local black youths approached me and spoke out of frame. The spoke like a lot of black folk do, and I subtitled it for those who may not have understood what they were saying. The jackass's comments: love your captions! i mean really... so humane, so ignorant and blatantly racist... makes me question whether youre part of a solution or part of an even greater problem... The jackass, who is too cowardly to use her real name, accused The Bench of being racist by quoting the youths exactly. In the video, one of the girls said, "What is you doin'?" and I subtitled it that way. Apparently, the jackass feels that I should have written the subtitle to have said, "Excuse me, my good man, but would you mind awfully telling me what it is that you are doing here this evening?" That would not have made sense. Furthermore, to "whiten up" the subtitles would have been racist. Subtitles that are faithful to what is actually spoken are not racist. They are accurate. But the jackass is a cowardly, hypersensitive kool-aid drinker who jumps on anything to do with race and assumes that it must have racist motivation. And that, friends, is racist.

DNC Summit of Confusion, August 2007

Confusion in Las Vegas, August 2007: The Democratic National Committee will meet in Las Vegas from August, 23-25th at Paris and Bally's Las Vegas hotels. But the DNC's online registration form is as confusing as their vision for America. They can't get the location/s quite right, and they get typically nutty with demographic into. To wit:

The DNC is calling the gathering the "DNC American Majority Partnership Summit," but registrants are instructed to ask for a "DNC Joint Summit" room block. Well, which is it? The "Partnership Summit" or the "Joint Summit?"

Location confusion abounds, too. In one paragraph, the DNC tells us that the location will be at "Las Vegas Bally's and Paris Hotel, 3645 Las Vegas Blvd South." One address? The following paragraph

Event Date & Location: August 23-25th, 2007 Las Vegas Bally's and Paris Hotel, 3645 Las Vegas Blvd South, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (877) 603-4390

Paris and Bally's are separate hotels, but they refer to them as "Bally's and Paris Hotel," as though they are one. Paris is located at 3655 Las Vegas Blvd South. Bally's is located at 3645 Las Vegas Blvd South. Okay, they're next to each other. But they have separate addresses.

Hotel Room Block is located at both Paris and Bally's Las Vegas hotel. Call 888-266-5687 and ask for "DNC Joint Summit" room block. The room rate is $159 per night.

Ah, "both Paris and Bally's Las Vegas hotel." This acknowledges that they are separate, but someone needs to turn on the grammar check function of their word processor and make "hotel" plural.

IS "LGBT" AN ETHNICITY?

The DNC seems to think so. The online registration form includes the following question: Demographic Information (select all that apply):

  • African American
  • Hispanic
  • Asian American or Pacific Islander
  • LGBT
  • Caucasian
  • Native American
  • Other
  • Shouldn't it be "Pacfic Islander American?" (What if you're from an island in the Atlantic Ocean or Indian Ocean?) Or "Caucasian American?" Why is LGBT in there? Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgendered is not an ethnicity. Nevertheless, if they're going to include it, shouldn't it be "LGBT American?" How about "Other American?"

Apparently nobody has informed the DNC that "there's no such thing as race."

The next question asks registrants whether they are "Male" or "Female." Wow, that's exclusionary. I'm sure that some of the "T" folks in the LGBT category might want to check "Other" for this question. And shouldn't it really be "Male American," "Female American?"

DNC's form also asks registrants (Registrant Americans) to select which events they will attend. For example, on Friday morning and afternoon, do you plan to attend:

  • AAPI Leadership Summit
  • African American Leadership Summit
  • Hispanic Leadership Summit
  • LGBT Leadership Summit
  • Where is the "Caucasian American Summit?" Or the "Native American Summit?" Or the "Asian American/Pacific Islander American Summit?" Or the "Atlantic Islander American Summit?" Won't those folks feel left out, disenfranchised, shunned? On Thursday, by the way, there will be a "Women's Leadership Summit Caucus," but shouldn't that really be called the "Gyno American Leadership Summit Caucus," and why is there no "Andro American Leadership Summit Caucus" for Democrats who are poisoned by testosterone? What about the "T" folks, who are neither? Shouldn't there be a "Transgendered American Leadership Summit Caucus?" More disenfranchisement, more exclusion, more division. More confusion.

Then there is the problem with "leadership." Those attending the conference who just foot soldiers for the Democratic Party will certainly feel excluded and belittled by the fact that they are not "leaders." Isn't "leader" an elitist term? Will these leaders be elected or appointed? If they are elected, will it be by the membership? If so, then that would actually be a form of republican governance.

How ironic. A truly democratic body would have no "leaders." Everything would be decided by a vote of the full body. Self esteem is challenged, as well, since those who are not "leaders" will likely feel inferior. Do the Democrats really want to risk disenfranchising members who have been made to feel that they are somehow not as good as others?

Perhaps some smart ass attendee will raise these questions in Las Vegas. Perhaps they will get good answers before they are ejected from the event.

Garrison Keillor is one of those creeps that always gave me the, uhm, creeps. He should give you the willies too, now that we know his mind is as distorted as his ugly mug. Multicultural Pandering in Rogers Park, Chicago

LGBT Cawfee Talk with Don Gordon
Come pull up a chair and have some coffee with Don to discuss your concerns and ideas for the 49th Ward. Don is interested in supporting the LGBT community!
    Date: Monday, March 20, 2007
    Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Address: Ennui Café - 6981 North Sheridan Road, Chicago, IL 60626

(For those of you may not know, "LGBT" stands for "Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgendered." Or transsexual, I forget. Either way, one of the T's is excluded, and that seems rather un-PC.)

49th Ward aldermanic candidate Don Gordon will eagerly pander to this special interest group tonight, as noted above. So then, why is this a problem?

Let me preface this post with a reminder that I am now supporting Don Gordon in his bid against incumbent alderman Joe Moore. Gordon is not unique; just about every politician panders to different groups. This is a criticism of Don Gordon, but more than a criticism of Gordon, this posting is meant as a look at multiculturalism and political correctness.

I am strongly opposed to multiculturalism, but I am equally as strongly in favor of diversity. To put it simply, I favor the concept of the "melting pot" over the concept of the "tossed salad."

“A multicultural society is one that is inherently prone to conflict, not harmony. This is why we see a huge growth in government bureaucracies dedicated to resolving disputes along racial and cultural lines. These disputes can never be resolved permanently because the bureaucrats deny one of the major causes: race. This is why there is so much talk of the "multicultural" rather than the more precise "multiracial." Ever more changes and legislation are introduced to make the host society ever more congenial to racial minorities. This only creates more demands, and encourages the non-shooting war against whites, their civilization, and even the idea of the West.” Full article...

Substitute “sexual” for “racial” in the above and you get the same results.

    Let's continue.

Prior to the election in February, candidate Gordon stated that, if elected, there would be “zero tolerance for homophobia.” That is a scary prospect, especially if he means it literally.

If he means it literally, enforcement of Zero Tolerance of homophobia would necessitate mind reading Thought and Speech Police. If he means it just-sorta-kinda, it would only need a Speech Police Squad sans mind readers.

Think about (no pun intended). “Zero Tolerance” is absolute. No exceptions would be allowed. Anybody suspected of homophobia would have to be investigated. If enough evidence of homophobia were discovered, prosecution would be required. If the defendant were found guilty, the required punishment would have to be dispensed, whether it is a fine or imprisonment.

But what, exactly, would the defendant be investigated or prosecuted or jailed for? What is “homophobia?”

It has roots in two words. “Homo,” which means “same,” and “phobia,” which means “fear.”

    SYLLABICATION: pho·bi·a
    PRONUNCIATION: fb-
NOUN: 1. A persistent, abnormal, and irrational fear of a specific thing or situation that compels one to avoid it, despite the awareness and reassurance that it is not dangerous. 2. A strong fear, dislike, or aversion.
    ETYMOLOGY: From –phobia

Taken literally, then, a “zero tolerance” policy that would make it, one must presume, illegal to have an “irrational fear” of gay people.

I have an irrational fear of clowns, which is coulrophobia. I admit that this is not fair to clowns, but I cannot help it. Nevertheless, I would not attack a clown or scream epithets at a clown. I would not deny him housing or a job. Many other people are afraid of clowns, too.

Should there be “zero tolerance” of coulrophobia? I don’t think so. Maybe Don Gordon does. If he does not, well, that is hardly fair is it? Why does the LGBT crowd deserve more protection than the Ringling Brothers crowd does?

It is always a problem when a candidate panders to any special interest group. Yes, the LBGT community (which I will henceforth refer to as "gay" because it's just easier to type) is a special interest group. This does not include each and every gay person any more than Jesse Jackson speaks for each and every Black person.

There are gay people who are afraid of straight people. “Heterophobia” is no more fair than homophobia. Will Don Gordon call for a zero tolerance of heterophobia? Will I be able to file a complaint the next time a gay person derisively calls me a “breeder?”

There are organized groups of gay persons who actively lobby politicians and legislative bodies for the purpose of achieving laws or considerations specifically for their group. That is the definition of a special interest group as simply as it can be put.

Which brings us back to Don Gordon's gay "cawfee" talk tonight. There is nothing wrong, per se, with speaking to a group of gays, Blacks, Italians, Swedes, bowlers, or any other "group." But Mr. Gordon will sip java with these folks tonight "to discuss [their] concerns and ideas for the 49th Ward."

I'm just asking: Do gay people have different ideas for fixing curbs and potholes? Does the "LGBT community" require special sidewalks, differently colored traffic signals, and its own tax code? While we're at it, what exactly is the "LGBT community?" Is there a gay method to reduce gang crime? Would the gays in our community have a better plan than heterosexuals for maintaining or improving the lakefront? Do clowns?

For that matter, what is the Straight community? May I call the Straight community the "MFSW" ("Male, Female, Single, Wedded") community? No? Okay, I won't. You're right, it is silly. About as silly as "LGBT" is.

I know Mr. Gordon is just trying to be "inclusive." But having an event that is advertised specifically to a particular group is automatically exclusive. You simply cannot have an event for midgets without excluding tall people. You cannot have a Black Congressional Caucus without excluding non-Blacks. You cannot have an event targeted specifically to straight people without excluding gay people, or vice versa. And so on.

Not all straight people love pornography, they don’t all “swing,” they’re not all sex-crazed fiends. The same is true of gay people. But if “zero tolerance” becomes the literal policy of a Don Gordon administration, would it be verboten to oppose the kind of thing that can be seen in the video below:

WARNING: This video includes extremely offensive images from the 2006 Dallas “Gay Pride” Parade. To watch 2006 Dallas “Gay Pride” video, click HERE.

Note that under a zero tolerance policy, it would be a violation to refer to the above video as offensive!

I am not trying to imply that the video depicts the typical gay person. But if that were happening on Morse Avenue, Don Gordon’s zero tolerance policy would prohibit you from even making a complaint about it.

And do not even get me started on NAMBLA, the North American Man Boy Love Association. To protest that abomination would surely be labeled “homophobic,” and therefore forbidden, under a homophobia zero tolerance policy.

By the way, the word “homophobia” cannot be found on Don Gordon’s web site in a Google search.

There is not enough time for me to write as much as I would like to about this, and you probably do not want to read any more than you already have. I hope that I have raised some serious questions here, with an injection of humor, and sparked a few conversations about this. This kind of thing needs to be talked about. Perhaps over cawfee?

Final Solutions, Liberal Guilt and Candidate Don Gordon

Don Gordon faces Joe Moore in Chicago's 49th Ward aldermanic run-off election on April 17. Both Gordon and his campaign lieutenant Michael Harrington are being unfairly accused of intentionally using a Nazi phrase. The phrase is "final solution." In certain contexts, the phrase is incendiary. In others, it should not be. Today's attack against Gordon and Harrington by Tom Westgard is ludicrous. I will try to explain why. "Politically correct" people are tragic, tending to hallucinate, to hear things that don't necessarily make sound, to smell things that don't smell, to see things that are not there. Such is the case with attorney Thomas Westgard, a man whom I consider to be a friend. I like Tom Westgard, and it pains me to write this. Tom is basically a good man, but what I have to say must be said. Our communal sanity may depend upon it. Westgard, like many others, is infected with the Political Correctness Virus (PCV). This disease has among its symptoms delusional thoughts and hallucination. People who are PCV-positive often hear, smell and see things that are not there or do not exist. Perhaps we can work to finally solve this. Perhaps, together, we can find a final solution to the question of hypersensitivity brought on by PCV. Perhaps, finally, it will be solved. Thomas Westgard is hearing voices, and they are saying things to him that are not grounded in reality. They tend to take things out of context, pick them up, and move them into a context that either does not exist or will not properly accommodate. Context is everything. Oh, the White Liberal Guilt weighs heavy on Westgard’s German-American shoulders. Today Westgard pontificates on the phrase "final solution." It is a phrase that haunts his Teutonic memory, and in a fit of guilty, delusional pique he unfairly associates 49th Ward aldermanic candidate Don Gordon with Adolf Hitler. Again: Context is everything. We are not in Nuremberg. Gordon is not Hitler. Harrington is Rudolf Hess. "Something that has been bothering me for nearly a year,” Westgard writes, “is the misuse of the term, 'Final Solution.' It has a very specific meaning, and it's one that culturally literate people know. Everyone must learn it at some point, so I provide for those not already in the know the following explanation of the term, 'Final Solution.' "'Final Solution' is the standard English translation of Hitler's extermination plan for Jews and other groups," wrote Westgard. Westgard is wrong and right at the same time, as deluded victims of hallucination sometimes are. He is correct, of course, that Hitler called his program of extermination a "final solution." But he is absolutely wrong in saying that anybody who uses the phrase "final solution" in a sentence is implying that millions of people must be exterminated. “The Final Solution is the Holocaust,” writes Westgard. Not true. Rather, the Holocaust was a type of final solution. But not all final solutions are holocausts. A Holocaust survivors' group tell us this: “The phrase, ‘Final Solution,’ was just one of the euphemisms used by the Nazis to signify their program of murder. The Final Solution was a secret that had to be disguised in seemingly innocent sounding formulations. Other euphemisms for the mass murder were: ‘Liquidated’ ‘Finished Off’ ‘Special Treatment’ ‘Cleansing’ ‘Elimination’ ‘Resettlement’ ‘Treated Appropriately’ and ‘Made Free of Jews.’" Would Tom Westgard have a problem with somebody telling him that they have “finished off” a big lunch? Or a merchant advertising a “special treatment for the elimination of liquidated” sale items? How would Westgard react to a proposed “resettlement” of Section 8 residents? Or the “cleansing” of his toilet bowl? Or having Muslims “treated appropriately?” Context is everything. Why, then, would Westgard have a problem with Don Gordon calling for the “final solution” to a problem. Would any reasonable person take that to mean a Nazi-style extermination program? Westgard wrote today: “About eight months ago, I was one of a large group who received an email from Michael J. Harrington that emphatically demanded a ‘Final Solution’ to the Block Building problem. To be clear, I am not paraphrasing his words - MJH himself used the phrase ‘Final Solution’ to describe what he wanted to see. As many readers of this blog are aware, the Block Building is actually a pair of buildings bordered by Morse, Glenwood, and Lunt, where a constant drug dealing problem has existed for years. Many residents are Black. Most or all of the owners are Jewish.” Permit me a digression: As a conservative, I find it amusing that the non-Jewish Westgard has taken it upon himself to discuss matters of Jewish concern. Westgard and his fellow Liberals love to tell non-veterans that they should not discuss military issues, or white people that they have no understanding of and therefore no right to discuss issues about non-white people. Yet here is Westgard, as white as white can be, lecturing us about an issue which, by Liberal standards, should be left to Jews. It is also, I must admit, amusing to witness “progressive” Michael Harrington fall victim to PC police, of which he himself is an officer. But that’s enough digressing. Westgard’s final paragraph (sorry about the word “final” there) is a mash of unsubstantiated slander. He wrote: “But it is fair to set a certain standard for cultural awareness in our alderman. Don Gordon himself has exhibited a pattern of behavior that demonstrates a severe lack of cultural sensitivity, and his political advisors [sic] have added more problems to the pile. Don Gordon has personally, and in so many words, opposed compassion for the poor and mentally ill who are homeless. Under the circumstances, I believe that Don does not have the personal qualifications to adequately represent the cultural and economic variety of Rogers Park. Nor is there any reason to think that his team of advisors [sic] can guide him to learn the necessary background. Either one of these failings would be seriously detrimental to an aldermanic campaign; failing in both areas is essentially insurmountable.” “Severe lack of cultural sensitivity?” In what way? “Severe” is undefined here, and no example is given. Westgard alleges that Don Gordon has said he is opposed to compassion for, amongst other, homeless mentally ill people. (How compassionate is it of Westgard, et. al. to oppose institutionalizing the mentally ill rather than put them on the street like so many dogs?) Again, no substantiation, no example given. Westgard continues: “I believe that Don does not have the personal qualifications to adequately represent the cultural and economic variety of Rogers Park.” This is code from a guilt-ridden, Liberal German-American White Man for “Don Gordon is too white” to represent people who are not white. Ridiculous. This is racism on Westgard’s part, pure and simple, although I would say it is not intentional racism. (Remember, he suffers from PCV. Many of his actions and thoughts are adversely influenced by PCV.) As for the “economic variety of Rogers Park,” I’d like to know what that means. Seems to me that one of the problems of Rogers Park is its lack of economic variety. Again, no substantiation. No example. Westgard writes well, but tightly woven paragraphs do not always mean a tightly woven case. Is Westgard bothered by the use of the word “problem?” Surely that for which Hitler wanted a “final solution” was referred to as a “problem” by der Fuehrer. Surely, then, Westgard would have a problem with the use of the word “problem,” right? It is particularly troublesome that Westgard, as an attorney, has not passed the test of being reasonable. As an attorney, he knows better than most of us that if something cannot be reasonably taken to serious, as in the case of obvious satire or parody, it should be thrown out of court. The “case” he brings against Gordon for the use of the phrase “final solution” is frivolous and does not stand the test of reason. Not all “final solutions” are holocausts. Many things can have a final solution having nothing to do with genocide. Remember: Context uber alles. Before I continue, let me note that my father’s side is Jewish. Most Jews would not consider me to be a Jew, because Jewishness is passed from mother to child. My mother was Protestant. But make no mistake, by every rule and law of the Third Reich I would have been considered Jewish and sent off to a prison camp. Mr. Westgard, as far as I know, would not have been considered Jewish in the Germany of 1939. It is probably safe to assume that Adolf Hitler occasionally used the phrase “better road system,” or “road project.” Should we, then, cringe when we hear a politician suggest that we spend more money on a “better road system?” By the same token, when the headline “A final solution for tyre garbage?” was used for a story about disposing of old automobile tires in Australia, were the Tom Westgards of Australia up in arms over the use of the phrase “final solution?” How about this headline, from Good News India: “A final solution for waste?” An excerpt from that story read, “A company in the USA, Changing World Technologies [CWT] , NY has perfected a process to transform all manner of modern waste into crude oil and other useful products. The process ‘Thermal Depolymerisation’ [TDP] is nearly self sufficient in energy, has no polluting by-products and is highly scalable.” Hardly sounds Hitlerian. Doesn’t sound threatening, does it? There are more, of course. Do any of the following sound like they’re advocating genocide? I’m sure that we can all be certain that Westgard will attack the following few examples out of thousands more for their use of the phrase “final solution.” Caltech Authors - The general feedback theorem: a final solution ... Chief Illiniwek, Swedish Flags and Spanish Street Names

Univ. of IL mascot Chief Illiniwek
The recent firing of University of Illinois mascot Chief Illiniwek has me upset. Although many Native Americans had no problem with the dancing Chief, white administrators did.

They would rather just pretend that Native Americans do not exist. The whole glorious tradition, which paid a beautiful and respectful homage to a people who suffered so much, has been crushed.

So what's next? In the interest of fairness, I make the following proposal and encourage all fair minded people to join me in it:

BAN SPANISH NAMES OF STREETS AND CITIES in the United States. It is, by Liberal Logic, cruelly insensitive. After all, haven't Spanish speakers suffered enough since Chris Colombus paid a visit?

    Flag of Sweden
    Swedish flag has a cross!
    Flag of Greece
    Greece
Spanish names for U.S. cities and streets only mocks and disrespects Latinos and Hispanics. Ditto with German names. Hasn't the world suffered enough under the German boot heel, and do we need to be constantly reminded of it?

BAN SWEDISH FLAGS? Yes, and any other flag that has a cross, or other religious symbol in its design. This would include the Spanish flag, which has a teeny little cross in its design.

    Flag of Israel
    Israel
    Flag of Turkey
    Turkey
After all, isn't the cross really a symbol of Crusader oppression? For that matter, ban the display of any flag that has any religious symbol in it, such as Israel's flag with its Star of David. Do we want symbols of Zionist oppression flying over our streets?

BAN RELIGIOUS NAMES SUCH AS "CHRIS," "CHRISTIAN," "DAVID," "JESUS," or "MOHAMMED." After all, millions of people have died in religious wars. Naming your child after a religious figure only perpertuates this madness. People who already have such names will have to change them or pay a heavy fine. Perhaps any houses of worship that look like houses of worship will be deemed offensive, too.

ARREST GOV. ROD BLAGOJEVICH and any other politician who invokes God or other religious symbols or mythology into his/her/its public speeches. Remember, the Constitution calls for "separation of church and state governors." The Constitution also calls for the "separation of wheat and chaff" and "separation of egg whites and yolk." Not many people know this.

DISPLAY MORE SENSITIVITY TO PEOPLE OF OTHER CULTURES. Therefore, people who come to this country from elsewhere should be judged only by the standards of their places of origin. For example, folks from Saudi Arabia would have Saudi law applied to them if they are caught, say, stealing. Or being homosexual. Or sex out of wedlock. You get the idea.

People from Mexico, for example, would have the laws of Mexico applied to them, which would mean they could not own property or work for the government in many cases. It would also mean that they could be deported without due process. And of course, bloggers who moved to the U.S. from France would be imprisoned if they write about violence. Many foreigners would be punished for even the slightest criticism of the local and/or federal government.

I could go on but I think the point is made. We have the PC crowd (politically crazed) to thank for heightening our awareness. It's now up to us to take action.
