"New York City police say they are combing through video of the bombing in the subway system. They say the suspect meant to set off the bomb, but it's not clear if he meant to do so in a passageway in the Times Square area where it went off Monday during the morning rush hour. Twenty-seven-year-old Akayed Ullah is in police custody. Officials say he sustained burns to his abdomen and hands and cuts after the crude pipe bomb exploded." More from 13ABC.com. Suspect Akayed Ullah was wearing the pipe bomb strapped around his mid-section. He may have intended to set of his explosive device in Times Square.

New York MTA Gives In To Pro-Savage Complaints, Bans Free Speech In Subway

Sept. 30, 2012 - You KNEW this would happen, didn't you? When New York City blogger Pamela Geller went balls-out and bought space in the city's subway stations for her pro-Israel, anti-Jihad posters, it caused instant controversy.

Sadly, the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) of New York is composed of spineless pussies who caved in to the screeches and howls of those who objected to the First Amendment-protected posters.  

Freedom of speech is under assault by the Left, folks: The banning of Gellers subway placards comes on the heels of Barack Obama's recent anti-free speech statement at the United Nations, in which he said, "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam." Obama got that backwards, of course: The First Amendment guarantees you and me the freedom to say whatever we bloody well please about Mohammed, pro or con, or about any other religion or religious figure. The future, then, must never belong to those who would suppress my right to criticize Mohammed, Jesus, Moses, Donald Duck, Winston Churchill, the Chicago Bears or anything else.

The placards simply said, "In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat jihad." They were not anti-Islam per se. They were specifically anti-Jihad. Reasonable Americans know what that means: Violent, murderous militant radical Muslims. In fact, the words "Muslim" and "Islam" did not appear in the ads.

Will the ACLU weigh in on this issue? They already did, actually. Fox News reported on Sept. 23 that Donna Lieberman, executive director of the New York Civil Liberties Union, supported Geller's right to run what she called the "patently offensive" ads. "More offensive would be their censorship," Fox quoted Lieberman as saying, "because that would violate the guarantee of free expression of all ideas regardless of how distasteful they are."

Indeed, the First Amendment is supposed to protect speech even if it offends some people.

Frankly, I find the Geller anti-Jihad placards to be much less offensive than Jihadists' videos of beheadings, suicide bombings and hangings. Don't you prefer Geller's approach to protesting against something she dislikes (jihad and savagery) over the manner in which so many Muslims worldwide take?

Was ChrisStevens killed by savages? Well, yes.

You know, like the killing U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens in Benghazi, Libya on Sept. 11, 2012. Or like the countless numbers of violent protests and attacks and - sure, let's throw these in, too - stoning of women, executions of gay people just because they are gay people, burning hotels and killing guests because they engaged in (gasp) drinking beer ... and so much more.  

"Savage" seems appropriate when describing those things. Doesn't it? Does it describe all Muslims? No, it does not. It only describes the savage ones. This is so simple that it's almost painful.

At first, the MTA used one of their own regulations that allows them to turn down ads if they “demean an individual or group of individuals on account of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, gender, age, disability or sexual orientation.”

Look at the wording of Geller's placards, and at the MTA regulation that initially banned it, and you see a sort of disconnect from reality. "In any war between the civilized man and the savage," said the placards, "support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat jihad."  Could "savage" be offensive to an unthinking, overly sensitive, guilt-ridden, Jihad-supporting Muslim? I suppose so, but can a reasonable person argue that suicide belt-wearing people bent on killing innocent people just because they are not Muslims are not savages? I think not....

U.S. Plot to Kill Al-Awlaki Included Fighter Jets, Special Ops

September 30, 2011 - U.S. forces killed two U.S. citizens who had become important Al Qaeda operatives. Dead are senior Al Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki Samir Khan, plus two others who were traveling with them in Yemen early this morning. The terrorists were taken out by "a CIA-led U.S. drone strike, marking the highest-profile takedown of terror leaders since the raid on Usama bin Laden's compound," reports Fox News. The operation involved two Predator drones. They flew over al-Awlaki's convoy and fired Hellfire missiles, killing al-Awlaki. Fox News says that a senior U.S. official claims that the operation "was carried out by Joint Special Operations Command, under the direction of the CIA."

A CBS News report late today notes that the U.S. military and intelligence forces tracked Anwar al-Awlaki for a number of years. "Awlaki," says CBS, "who apparently inspired the Fort Hood major who killed 13 service members and whose ties to al Qaeda may go back as far as the 9/11 hijackers, was tracked down leaving a funeral in Yemen and killed by a rocket fired from a U.S. drone aircraft." "Al-Awlaki would be the most prominent Al Qaeda figure to be killed since bin Laden's death in a U.S. raid in Pakistan in May," says Fox News, which also notes that U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said in July that Al-Awlaki was on the most wanted list, which included Ayman al-Zawahri, bin Laden's successor as the terror network's leader." The FBI's Most Wanted Terrorist List says that "Ayman Al-Zawahiri has been indicted for his alleged role in the August 7, 1998, bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya." Al-Awlaki, says the FBI, was designated by the United States as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist” on July 12, 2010. (Also see Terrorism Designations Press Releases, U.S. Dept. of State) CBS reports that while Samir Khan two fellow convoy passengers were also killed, Awlaki was the real target. "He had narrowly escaped an earlier drone strike the week after the Bin Laden raid," said CBS, "and this time the U.S. was taking no chances." Fox News notes that "Al-Awlaki was a U.S.-born Islamic militant cleric who became a prominent figure with Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the network's most active branch." One of Al-Awlaki's most important roles within Al Qaeda was propagandist. As a native English speaker and one who had first hand knowledge of American culture, he was especially effective at recruiting jihadists from within the U.S. "Awlaki has become a prominent cyber-jihadist," reported Long War Journal in July. "Combining his ability to communicate in English with his charisma with young, radical Muslims and his presence on the Web, Awlaki has developed a large following. He gives numerous lectures and speeches via the Internet and teleconferences. US law enforcement agencies and intelligence services consider Awlaki to be a prime recruiter for al Qaeda as well as a provider of the needed religious justifications, or fatwas, for jihadis to carry out attacks." That deadly voice has been silenced. There will be others.

By Allah, the infidel countries today – the US and its allies – dare to fight the Muslims, to rape their women and turn them into widows, and to inflict their corruption on Islam and the Muslims on a daily basis only because they see that the Muslims do not even consider fighting the infidels and conquering their countries. [...] The Koranic verses that deal with fighting the infidels and conquering their countries say that they should convert to Islam, pay the jizya poll tax, or be killed. If the Muslims had implemented this, we would not have reached the humiliation in which we find ourselves today. "It is not unthinkable that the future of the Turkish Jewish community is in doubt." As noted here previously, and by hundreds of others recently, violent anti-Semitism is rampant around the globe. It's been hitting hard in Europe since the outbreak of the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Gaza (but it's always bubbling under the surface to some degree or another). It's getting so bad in Europe and Turkey lately that there are worldwide alerts for violence against Jews, and North America is by no means exempt. Indeed, in Chicago and other U.S. cities, there has been a recent outbreak of anti-Jewish vandalism. The anti-Semitic attacks go beyond criticizing Israel for its actions in Gaza. To criticize a nation for its military actions is legitimate. To violently attack people, however, simply because they share the dominant ethnic or religious characteristics of that nation is not legitimate. Imagine threatening all Muslims and burning mosques worldwide for the actions of al-Qaeda. That would be insane, wrong, stupid. Yet, that is exactly the kind of hate-driven violence now being perpetrated against Jewish people and institutions all over the world. A January 12, 2009 report at Market Watch notes this: Assaults against Jews in communities around the world are on the rise. In Europe, Jews have been threatened and beaten on the street and synagogues firebombed. "Jews to the gas chambers" has been chanted at anti-Israel demonstrations in Europe and similar calls for death to Jews have been heard across the Arab and Muslim world. Newspapers in the Arab world and in Latin America have published pieces making blatant comparisons between Israel and the Nazis' perpetration of the Holocaust. One newspaper in Qatar ran an article noting that all Jews bear responsibility for what is happening in Gaza. Caricatures that depict Israelis as Nazis are appearing daily in the Arab press, in Latin American and even in some mainstream European newspapers. (Source) The report goes on to note a sick irony: Among the most prevalent expressions of anti-Semitic hate speech is equating Israel with the Nazi regime. The widespread Holocaust and Nazi analogies employed at global demonstrations go well beyond legitimate criticism of Israel into outright anti-Semitism. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has a slideshow of anti-Semitic cartoons from Arab publications, with a related article about "Nazi Imagery, Anti-Semitism Rampant In Arab Media As Gaza Crisis Unfolds." Turkey is one of the hottest places for anti-Semitism at the moment. Not Arab but mostly Muslim, Turkey is a schizophrenic case of secularism-coddling-sectarianism-tolerating-secularism. Officially a friend of Israel, they are also an ally of Iran. The country literally stradles Europe and near-west Asia, perched just above Syria, bordering northwestern Iraq, and just east of Greece. I am certainly not saying that the average Turk is anti-Semitic. Certainly not all are, and the government is at least taken steps to protect Jewish places such as synagogues. But the growing violence in Turkey, Europe and America against ordinary Jews who have nothing to do with Israel's war with Hamas is a fact. BALI BOMBERS EXECUTED

They - and others - killed 212 tourists six years ago in Bali. They were Muslim extremists, Islamists bent on killing anybody not like themselves. Now the bastards are dead, executed as they should have been. The Bali nightclub bombings have been referred to as the 9/11 of Indonesia. Meanwhile, Indonesia is on high alert and watching for signs of retaliation. The three men convicted in the 2002 Bali nightclub bombings have been executed. A report on Indonesia's TV One, says Amrozi Nurhasyim, Ali Ghufron, and Imam Samudra were put to death by firing squad for their role in planning bomb attacks on two nightclubs in Bali in 2002. The attacks killed 202 people, including 88 Australian tourists, more than half of whom were women. A Jihadist By Any Other Name....

... is still a terrorist. Robert Spencer posts a fascinating piece that deals with the idiocy of politically "correct" speech, the idiocy of the U. S. Department of State, and the madness of the modern world in which one is often afraid to call a spade a spade. What really seems to have spurred the piece was a recent New York Slimes op-ed titled "What Do You Call a Terror(Jihad)ist?," by P. W. Singer and Elina Noor on June 2, 2008. Robert wrote, "This New York Times op-ed defends the government's new PC guidelines forbidding use of the term 'jihadists' to describe the people who are waging war against the U.S. It does so artfully, but ultimately in a way that exposes the faulty assumptions of this entire initiative." You might say that Spencer is whimsically irked by the Singer and Noor and their defense of Orwell Speak. He goes on and on with great style, at one point noting this: Osama bin Laden did not whisper into the ear of Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406), the pioneering historian and sociologist, the idea that “in the Muslim community, the holy war is a religious duty, because of the universalism of the Muslim mission and (the obligation to) convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force.” In Islam, the person in charge of religious affairs is concerned with “power politics,” because Islam is “under obligation to gain power over other nations.” In other words, says Spencer, this crap didn't start with bin Laden. As I often ask my Liberal acquaintances who blame the U.S. for the events of 9/11, What did the United States do to piss off the Arab muslims so much that they felt compelled to invade and burn Constantinople in 673-678 A.D., hundreds of years before the first Crusade and centuries before George W. Bush was born? I love asking Liberals questions like that. It make their heads explode. Figuratively, of course. Robert Spencer will probably explode a few heads, too, with his article. Equality before the law! No religious interference!

It is absolutely amazing how many American Liberals and Democrats will instinctively spit out vicious anti-Christian venom when aske their opinion about Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney.
