Homeless Man Begs For Help, Thousands Ignore Him

July 7, 2014 - "On the Fourth of July," he said, "I had more donations from non-Americans than from Americans. Poor Mexicans in pickup trucks are more likely to give me a buck than a guy in a new Porsche."

That's what a 59-year old homeless man in Houston, TX said last Monday. Thousands of Americans, many with crosses hanging from their rear view mirrors, pretended they couldn't even see the man. Some gave him dirty looks. The worst: Wealthy people in ultra-expensive cars like BMWs, Mercedes, Porsches, Range Rovers, Cadillacs and Jaguars. Read all about it at The Homeless Patriot........

Obama Loves This Jew-Hating Egyptian University

Sept. 9, 2012 - When Barack Obama lavished praise on Egypt's Al-Azhar University back in a speech there in 2009, did he know that it was staffed by rabid Jew haters? Was so ignorant that he did not know, or did he know but just didn't care?

In that speech Obama said, “As a student of history, I also know civilization’s debt to Islam. It was Islam — at places like Al-Azhar — that carried the light of learning through so many centuries, paving the way for Europe’s Renaissance and Enlightenment.”Al-Azhar is Egypt's highest Islamic authority.

"In 2012, Dr. Abdul Hamid al-Atrash, the head of the Fatwa Committee of Al Azhar in Egypt, which issues rulings of Islamic law, declared that Jews could be banned from going to pray in a synagogue."  More at FrontPageMag.com.

In his 2009 speech at Al-Azhar, Obama said, “Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance." That tradition is pretty spotty, however, varying greatly from place to place, and from time to time.

As FrontPageMag points out, Obama "boasted of standing up for the right of Muslim women to wear the Hijab." They end with a pointed question: "Will be similarly stand up for the right of Jews to pray in a synagogue in Egypt?"

Don't count on it. In fact, all non-Muslims are in peril in the new Egypt that Barack Obama holds up as a shining example of his own foreign policy so-called successes.  "Of course, the persecution of Christians is nothing new in the Middle East," notes The National Interest. "But times are tougher now with the rise of governments motivated by Islamism, which in some interpretations does not give equal billings to other faiths. And amidst the ongoing unrest, some of these regional states have imposed crackdowns on non-Islamic religious communities when their stability is threatened."

The persecution of Christian Copts in Egypt is not a new problem, but it has gotten progressively worse since the fall of Mubarak last year. Last month, a publication called El Fegr posted a copy of a letter titled "An Urgent and Important Notice." It incited violence against Christians. "The letter refers to Christians as enemies of Allah's religion and slaves of the cross," reports Catholic Online, and it "calls for Allah to curse them and for all Muslims to physically attack or kill Christians throughout Egypt..."

"Fears for the future of religious minorities in Egypt were accentuated last week," reported Gatestone Institute, "when it was announced that the last synagogue in the country would be closed down. The Eliyahu Hanavi Synagogue, which had operated in Alexandria, was the last functioning center of Jewish life in the country. It is now clear that its cavernous halls, built in the nineteenth century, will not be open to worshippers hoping to mark Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur services this year."

Gatestone also notes that sectarian tensions across Egypt "have been heightened ever since last year's revolution, with Christian minorities bearing the brunt of the violence. One of the unintended consequences of the Arab Spring is the guarantee of security – long assured by the region's old dictators; it has been cast away by the tide of popular unrest sweeping the region."

The Meaning of Easter

Happy Easter to you! Do you know what that really means?

Dr. Samuel Blumenthal explains it for us:

The American holiday calendar commemorates religious, patriotic and secular events. The year starts with New Year's Day and ends in a blaze of light and music with Christmas, celebrating the birth of the most important person in history, Jesus Christ.

Indeed, the religious holidays memorialize the life of Jesus, which is honored differently by Protestants and Catholics. Actually, there are three calendars intertwined in the American calendar: the Protestant, Catholic and Jewish.

But there is one holiday in which the three calendars converge: Easter. The Jewish holiday of Passover is an important part of the life of Jesus Christ, whose momentous Last Supper was a celebration of Passover. From there the Son of God went to His crucifixion, and from there He was laid in a tomb where he was resurrected. At Easter, we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and His Ascension to heaven. Everybody Dies But Not Everyone Lives (Superchick Video)

I love this video. The song is "Cross The Line." The group is Superchick. The lead singer is Tricia Brock, who is not only easy on the eyes but is also a great rock vocalist. This song, in the video below, is from their 2008 album "Rock What You Got." The hit song got a second, remixed presentation in the band's 2010 album "Reinvention." Their official bio states that "With their new project Reinvention, Grammy-nominated Superchick goes back to the studio to reinvent their favorite songs. Drawing inspiration from the 100+ TV shows, video games and movies that use their music, Superchick has created a soundtrack album for fast car chases, giant fighting robots, teen romance and bad guys walking in slow motion." You can hear samples of the tracks, including "Rock What You Got," at their website. Superchick originated in Chicago and I've been a fan for a while now. I was surprised to learn only the other day that they call themselves, among other things, a Christian rock band. It makes sense, though, as their songs all have a positive message embedded within. They do this skillfully; none of their songs ever comes off as "preachy." It's just good rock music with strong, life-affirming lyrics. And don't we all want to feel affirmed? I sure do. Tricia says of the band's lyrics, "The songs won't bring you down. But if you are down, [they let] you know that you're not alone." I would add that if you are sitting down, the high-energy music just might make you stand up and dance. Okay, so watch the video below, then watch their "making of" video for a behind the scenes look at how this intriguing video was produced. A good article by Juliana Cashin and Delia Kang at Innervoice describes the unusual genesis of Superchick: Superchick began with a vision God had given Max Hsu, their producer and main songwriter. In the early 90’s, Max was in a band called Church Rhythm. After many concerts, young girls would share how a song they had written about suicide had ministered to them. Max saw the need to start a band that would encourage and inspire young girls who were struggling with feelings of depression and insecurity. Both Max and Dave Ghazarian, another member of Church Rhythm, began writing songs and came up with the name, Superchick. They had not planned to be in the band. When sisters Tricia and Melissa Brock met Max at a concert, he shared the vision with them, and Tricia felt as though this was the opportunity she had been longing for since high school. Nigeria: Rioting Kills At Least 300

THE Contested election results and religion-based hatred were the cause of rioting that has killed more than 300 so far. Fighting erupted over the results of a local election in the city of Jos in central Nigeria. This is not the first time this has happened in Nigeria. CNN notes that "More than 10,000 Nigerians have died in sectarian violence since civilian leaders took over from a former military junta in 1999. Political strife over local issues is common in Nigeria, where government offices control massive budgets stemming from the country's oil industry." Nigeria's religious demographics are Muslim 50%, Christian 40% and indigenous beliefs 10%. (CIA Word Factbook) BBC on the current mayhem in Nigeria: Police have imposed a 24-hour curfew and the army is patrolling the streets. They have been given orders to shoot on sight in an effort to quell the bloodshed, some of the most serious in Nigeria in recent years. The Nigerian Red Cross says at least 10,000 people have fled their homes. More at BBC News... A report from AFP: "I was at the central mosque this afternoon and I counted 378 dead bodies but just as I was about to leave, three more bodies were brought in," a correspondent for Radio France Internationale in Jos, Aminu Manu, told AFP, adding that families were coming forward to claim their dead relatives. "Hundreds of people have been killed in the last two days since the riots started. Remains of burned bodies litter some parts of the town; it is so terrible," Christian clergyman Yakumu Pam said. Equality before the law! No religious interference!

It is absolutely amazing how many American Liberals and Democrats will instinctively spit out vicious anti-Christian venom when aske their opinion about Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney. These same knee-jerks also spew forth blanket endorsements of Islamists. While Liberals are scared as mice of the prospect of a child saying a (Christian or Jewish) prayer in school, they will advocate for Sharia law or special treatment for Islamists. Below is an example of this phenomenon, as reported in Worker's Liberty: Archbishop Rowan Williams has proposed that British courts should use Islamic sharia law for family matters among Muslim citizens. It is yet another example of the different religious sects tacitly collaborating to use each others' demands to boost the overall role of religion in society. FULL TEXT...

English Sunset

Goodbye, England. It was nice to know you. You're now an old man, whithered and weak, feeble of mind and body. Your once magnificent mind is now a pudding of schizophrenic self-loathing. You've become a danger to yourself, like a lunatic who does not understand that walking into the middle of heavy traffic is risky. Or like a Western nation that cannot grasp the dangers of jihad or sharia law, or of multiculturalism gone haywire. MUST READ: Sharia and English law: a weakened Europe abandons humanism "Debate has been raised by the proposal of Rowan Williams, the Anglican primate, to insert parts of sharia into British legislation. To integrate Muslims into Europe, the practice of hospitality is better. Europeans appear to be abandoning the same humanist ideals that attract many, Muslims and non-Muslims." 10,000 Chinese Per Day

A fascinating - and surprising - article from The Asia Times says that Chrisianity is growing rapidly, in corners unexpected by many in the West. Ten thousand Chinese become Christians each day, according to a stunning report by the National Catholic Reporter's veteran correspondent John Allen, and 200 million Chinese may comprise the world's largest concentration of Christians by mid-century, and the largest missionary force in history. [1] If you read a single news article about China this year, make sure it is this one. FULL STORY...
