Global Warming? Nope, Says NASA
January 29, 2012 - A great report at Mail Online (dailymail.co.uk) says that "The supposed ‘consensus’ on man-made global warming is facing an inconvenient challenge after the release of new temperature data showing the planet has not warmed for the past 15 years.
Stunning! "The figures suggest that we could even be heading for a mini ice age," Mail Online says, "to rival the 70-year temperature drop that saw frost fairs held on the Thames in the 17th Century."

Mail Online continues: "Analysis by experts at NASA and the University of Arizona – derived from magnetic-field measurements 120,000 miles beneath the sun’s surface – suggest that Cycle 25, whose peak is due in 2022, will be a great deal weaker still."
This is sad and bad news for those who have been telling us that the world will end by frying and/or boiling due to man-made global warming. The Mail Online report effectively tells us that Al Gore is a liar (as so many of us have always known).
I must point out that the Daily Mail did not actually call Gore a liar. The reality of the reports, however, do that by proving Gore is a hoaxster and a huckster.
At the very least, the fact that reputable scientists dispute the theory of global warming (that's "theory") brings the lie to claims by the likes of Al Gore when they say that the "science is settled" because of "consensus" among those who believe in Gore's hysterics. The practice of science by consensus is antithetical to the scientific method itself.
"Sadly for Gore et al," wrote Matt Patterson at globalwarming.org recently, "a growing number of scientists are publically expressing skepticism about anthropogenic global warming, emboldened by a flood of new data that casts doubt on the whole “climate change” paradigm."

Green Liberals at UW-Madison Should Turn Off Air Conditioners
July 20, 2011 - Madison, WI - Wisconsin's capitol city and liberal haven is broiling in a major heat wave this week, along with much of the United States. As would be expected, this has raised the demand for electricity, mostly due to increased use of air conditioning systems. The University of Wisconsin-Madison is having an especially hard time. As reported by WISC-TV in Madison, "About 40 buildings across the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus continue to be affected by air conditioning problems on Tuesday after failures at several power plants." A UW official, says WISC, said that "as air-conditioning demand continues to outpace supply.

The Journal-Sentinel Online has a story yesterday about record power usage in Madison. Imagine all those uber liberals cranking up their air conditioners. Do you think they slept better in drier, cooler air? Or did they lose sleep because they felt guilty about contributing to global warming?
There's a sweet irony to all of this increased sweating on the UW campus. The vast majority of those sweating, I'm willing to bet, are liberals who devoutly believe in Al Gore's discredited doctrine of Global Warming. Ergo, they are the type of people who for years have been lecturing us about "going green" and using less electricity. This includes not only students, but much of the faculty and staff. They're all sweating this week, and they're all hypocritically wishing that the university can quickly restore the air conditioning on campus.
I say, Let them sweat. Give them the chance to live without hypocrisy and in swelting heat. It's only natural, isn't it? And isn't being as close to nature as possible a big part of being "green?" You betcha. The University of Wisconsin should just turn off the entire cooling system. Seriously: Think about how un-green it is to run a gargantuan cooling system for nearly a hundred buildings on a 40,000 student campus.
Some of the people I hope are sweating the most are the "climate change/global warming" media experts employed by UW-Madison. You can see them by clicking here. The ones I want to really sweat the most, however, are the global warming freaks at greenscene.journalism.wisc.edu and the Al Gore drones over at conserve.wisc.edu. You just know they're all maxing out their a/c this week, even as they plan new ways to tell us how naughty we are for still using incandescent light bulbs.
Perhaps I should be a little easier on the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After all, they're not exactly the greenest school around.
"Despite accolades for three other University of Wisconsin campuses," reported the Badger-Herald, "UW-Madison was not included in a list of the country’s top green college campuses according to a Princeton Review report" that was released in April, 2010. "Although the list included Wisconsin institutions such as UW-Oshkosh, UW-Milwaukee and UW-Stevens Point, UW was not among the top 286 chosen for the guide to display."
This just tells me that despite their preaching and posing, the UW-Madison leadership does not practice the green ways that it preaches. Turn up the heat, then, and let 'em sweat.
Full disclosure: I am an alumnus of the UW-Madison (B.A. Journalims, 1977). I am also a conservative who believes that the Sun is hot and can actually affect Earth's temperatures.
Humungous Ice Island Breaks From Greenland (But Don't Be Too Quick To Blame Global Warming)
Reuters reports that an "ice island four times the size of Manhattan broke off from one of Greenland's two main glaciers, scientists said on Friday, in the biggest such event in the Arctic in nearly 50 years."
The ice island has been named "Petermann Ice Island." The knee-jerk reaction by many will be to blame global warming.
But hold on. Reuters goes on to give us this caveat (my emphasis added):
"The freshwater stored in this ice island could keep the Delaware or Hudson Rivers flowing for more than two years," said Muenchow, whose research in the area is supported by the National Science Foundation.... He said it was hard to judge whether the event occurred due to global warming because records on the sea water around the glacier have only been kept since 2003. The flow of sea water below the glaciers is one of the main causes of ice calvings off Greenland. "Nobody can claim this was caused by global warming. On the other hand nobody can claim that it wasn't," Muenchow said.
So there. Maybe it's global warming, maybe not. Muenchow, a top scientist, admits that nobody can really know for certain if global warming is a factor in the ice island breaking off of Greenland.
Contrary to what Al Gore preaches, the science of all of this is not over. Inquiry - and open minds - must prevail.
Environmentalists area already having spasms, however, as their knees jerk uncontrollably.
The New American notes this with some humor, but gives a serious explanation of just why it's foolish to rush to the conclusion that global warming is the cause of this calving of the ice:
...calving is not the same as melting. Calving happens when a section of ice breaks off a glacier, iceberg, or ice shelf, which may have nothing to do with melting. Obama's chief science advisor, John Holdren, described calving caused by too much ice in a 1971 essay warning of the dangers of a coming ice age: "Even more dramatic results are possible, however; for instance, a sudden outward slumping of the Antarctic ice cap, induced by added weight, could generate a tidal wave of proportions unprecedented in recorded history." Admittedly, such an outlandish prediction does undermine Holdren's credibility, but it is true that calving is just as likely to be caused by buildup of ice as by melting. In the case of the Petermann Glacier, it is more likely because the Greenland ice sheet increased by two inches per year from 1993 through 2003, and "radar stations in northern Greenland are rapidly being surrounded by the growing ice sheet," reports [Science and Public Policy Institute] (SPPI). - The New American...
The New American also reports that, “...even though the Petermann Glacier calving can hardly be classified as a threat to the environment or a portent of impending disaster, depend upon major media to warn otherwise. Just remember, Greenland didn't get its name by being covered with ice as it is today. And as SPPI noted, 'the Greenland ice sheet was entirely absent 850,000 years ago: therefore, even if Greenland's ice were to melt, its disappearance would be entirely within the natural variability of the climate'."

More CO2 From Planes? Or Iceland's Volcano?
That troublesome volcano in Iceland, Mount Eyjafjallajoekull, has virtually crippled air travel in much of Europe. The enormous amounts of volcanic dust and ash is dangerous to jet engines. That, however, is not all that spews out of a volcano. Gigundo amounts of gases, including carbon dioxide (CO2), also come out.This ingenius graph shows just how ridiculous Al Gore and his CO2-phobic followers really are. The European aviation industry alone puts out far more CO2 per day than Eyjafjallajoekull currently puts out. You can find the supporting data sheet here.
But, you may say, doesn't this prove that we're right to be concerned about human contribution to CO2 in the atmosphere?
Actually, it shows just how much a single, relatively small volcano puts out in a short amount of time. That's one volcano. It's Nature. Now think of all of the other active volcanos farting out CO2, not to mention the trillions of plant and animal organisms doing the same thing 24/7, as they have for billions of years and will continue to do long after we've left the planet. (Gotcha.)

The "Mainstream Media" are collectively ignoring what could be the biggest hoax of a generation - and one of the biggest in history. The recent revelation of hacked researchers' emails shows that they have been falsifying climate data to fit their political agenda for many years. In other words, manmade global warming is fake, a hoax, bogus, a Big Lie. The scandal quickly became known as "climategate." In case you are not familiar with the Climategate Scandal, here is a summary from CivicsNews blogspot:

One item is particularly amusing, in a dark way. The Ecologist (UK) offers an opinion piece dated Nov. 27 titled "Shame on the 'climategate' scientists." Curiously, it acknowledges the fraud wrought by climate researchers, yet maintains that the scandal "should [not] have any real impact on the Copenhagen negotiations, which, even if they succeed, will set targets based on very conservative science at any rate." So... it's fake data, but we should move ahead will globally devastating economic tyranny in the name of bad science anyway? This is typical of the Left's response to Climategate: Either ignore it altogether, or tighten the blindfold and forge on.

BBC REPORT: WHAT HAPPENED TO GLOBAL WARMING?
Gee, that's a good question. Wasn't it about 7 or 8 years ago that Al Gore said we had only 10 years left before the Earth became a big, hot, glowing ember because of global warming? Uh huh. I saw an awful lot of liberals shivering this "summer" in Chicago, and now this from the BBC:
This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998.
Wait, wait, hold on. That headline comes as no surprise to the level-headed people who did not attach their lips to Al Gore's rump years ago. We've been saying the Church of Global Warming is a false church for years, yet so many people simply would not listen...
But it is true. For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures. And our climate models did not forecast it, even though man-made carbon dioxide, the gas thought to be responsible for warming our planet, has continued to rise.
You must read the full article. All but the most brain dead, drug addled liberals will begin to see that Global Warming (or "Climate Change") alarmism is bullcrap. Well, maybe not. Good science has been out there for years, but the libtards would rather believe non-scientist Al Gore's idiotic and highly flawed PowerPoint presentation.

Hurricanes and Hot Air
Al Gore's hysterical warning about global warming (Sept 12, 2005), and the prediction therein that hurricanes would become more frequent and more severe, has proven to be just a lot of hot air. Gore made that warning just days after Hurricane Katrina, in the middle of a very heavy hurricane season. Since 2005, however, hurricane seasons have actually declined in terms of storm frequency and severity. This is clearly demonstrated in the chart shown here.

Many skeptics were already questioning Gore's warning by the summer of 2007. Even so, the lunatic faithful parrotted Gore's stupidity. One case in point is a story written by the leftist news service Agence France Presse (AFP), dutifully republished by the useful idiots at the leftist CommonDreams.org. The story, dated July 30, 2007, started with this:
"Global warming's effect on wind patterns and sea temperatures have nearly doubled the number of hurricanes a year in the Atlantic Ocean over the past century, says a new study by US scientists," then continued with, "In the most recent period, from 1995 to 2005, the average reached 15, of which eight were hurricanes and seven were tropical storms."
Notice that AFP, writing in mid-2007, omits any referrence to the 2006 hurricane season, which saw only one third as many hurricanes as 2005. That was an inconvenient truth that AFP - and CommonDreams.org - just couldn't divulge.
2004 - Total: 9 Hurricanes, 7 non-Hurricane storms (year before Katrina)
2005 - Total: 15 Hurricanes, 16 non-Hurricane storms (year of Katrina)

Many skeptics were already questioning Gore's warning by the summer of 2007. Even so, the lunatic faithful parrotted Gore's stupidity. One case in point is a story written by the leftist news service Agence France Presse (AFP), dutifully republished by the useful idiots at the leftist CommonDreams.org. The story, dated July 30, 2007, started with this:
"Global warming's effect on wind patterns and sea temperatures have nearly doubled the number of hurricanes a year in the Atlantic Ocean over the past century, says a new study by US scientists," then continued with, "In the most recent period, from 1995 to 2005, the average reached 15, of which eight were hurricanes and seven were tropical storms."
Notice that AFP, writing in mid-2007, omits any referrence to the 2006 hurricane season, which saw only one third as many hurricanes as 2005. That was an inconvenient truth that AFP - and CommonDreams.org - just couldn't divulge.

Hurricane Bill Proves Al Gore Wrong (Updated 2009-09-06)
It is mid-August and "Bill," the first Atlantic hurricane of 2009, is about to impact the United States. Al Gore is probably relieved that we finally got a hurricane so far in to the 2009 season. Then again, he might be feeling foolish. After Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in September, 2005, Gore warned us all that hurricanes would only continue to become stronger and more frequent. So far, Gore has been wrong, as the following table demonstrates. The Chicago News Bench Science Division put the table together about a week ago, in anticipation of the inevitable Atlantic hurricane, and updated it this morning. The numbers don't lie. As you can see, Atlantic hurricanes have not become more frequent. Rather, there has been a significant decline from 2005. Four years after Katrina, it would seem that the 2005 hurricane season was an anomoly and not the beginning of a trend, as Gore wanted us to believe.

Global Warming Doomsday Canceled?
It should be canceled because it's phony, according to this Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) video report. Titled "Global Warming Doomsday Called Off," this is the full length version of the 2007 documentary (run time is 43:59).
Australian Fires Climate or Arson???
Australia's horrific wildfires have destroyed whole towns and killed, by now, at least 200 people. Eager to blame somebody - or something - for the catastrophe, The Church of Global Warming is trying to convince us that climate change is the cause of the fires. By extension, the same lunatic adherents to the Church of Global Warming would have to say that brush fires in California - or anywhere else - are also caused by climate change.
That's lunacy. Here's why. We know that many brush fires are the work of arsonists. Some of those arsonists are "fire bugs" who have a sick fascination with fire. Some arsonists do it for insurance money; some of their fires go out of control and become bigger than they intended. Some arsonists are eco-terrorists bent of exacting revenge on the human race in order to avenge the displacement of gophers and scorpions. Still others, it turns out, may be Islamo-terrorists. Not of those arsonists were driven to their criminal acts by climate change.
The lunatic eagerness to blame Global Warming/Climate Change for everything evil reaches a crescendo in article such as the one at RedOrbit.com:
The latest series of wildfires to hit Australia appeared to be intensified due to climate change, scientists reported on Monday. Australia is prone to massive wildfires due to its dry climate and naturally combustible vegetation, including oil-rich eucalyptus forests, according to the nation’s Bureau of Meteorology. However, the wildfires that struck Victoria over the weekend were the nation's deadliest on record, and scientists believe climate change is to blame.
"Scientists believe climate change is to blame." Meanwhile, experts in arson investigation are certain that human beings set the blazes in Australia. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the meteorologists are not on the fire scenes poking around for evidence of criminal activity. It's quite a stretch of faith to believe that climate change is to blame for "naturally combustible vegetation, including oil-rich eucalyptus forests."
RedOrbit continues: "Climate change, weather and drought are altering the nature, ferocity and duration of bushfires," Gary Morgan, head of the government-backed Bushfire Cooperative Research Center, told the AFP."
Really? And how, please, does one actually prove that theory? Oh! It's windy! Must be climate change! It hasn't rained in weeks! Must be climate change! Somebody put a torch to that tree! It's climate change!
Again, from RedOrbit: Climate Change Minister Penny Wong said the record heat is yet another sign of global climate change scientists have forecasted. "Eleven of the hottest years in history have been in the last 12, and we also note, particularly in the southern part of Australia, we're seeing less rainfall," said Wong.
Well, isn't that fascinating? Imagine, "eleven of the hottest years in history." In history! All 200 years of the history of Australian records of temperatures? Notice that Wong did not say, "The eleven hottest years in history." She said, "Eleven of the hottest years..." That's important, because if there were, say, a dozen even hotter years 150 years ago, her statement is still correct. It's Orwellian to state it the way she did. It is misleading, and she probably knows it.
The ravings of The Church of Global Warming see things in the same way that some folks see the image of Christ in a stain on a highway overpass wall. They really, really want it to be there, and their minds - not their eyes - are fooling them into "seeing" it. If you believe deeply enough, you will "see" whatever your faith demands. The Church of Global Warming demands that you see climate change in everything bad.
An excellent article at Slate.com today examines how a wildfire is investigated.
How do you investigate a wildfire for signs of arson? First, figure out where it got started. The place where firefighters first engaged with the blaze is a good place to begin, as are spots where eyewitnesses say they first saw flames or charred ground. Once they're in the ballpark, a careful study of burn patterns can guide investigators to the fire's point of origin.
None of the forensic methods described involve any of the theories of The Church of Global Warming. They focus instead on humans using matches for all the wrong reasons.
The Toronto Sun reports today that "Police declared incinerated towns crime scenes Monday, and the prime minister spoke of 'mass murder' after investigators said arsonists may have set some of Australia’s worst wildfires in history." Humans misbehaving, not global warming or climate change, is squarely blamed by forensic experts for the Australian infernos.
The Sun article, from AP, further notes that "Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, visibly upset during a television interview, reflected the country’s disgust at the idea that arsonists may have set some of the 400 fires that devastated Victoria state, or helped them jump containment lines."
The eagerness to blame disasters on "climate change" or "global warming" is a blind faith delusion. We might as well start blaming higher crime rates on climate change. After all, if last summer hadn't been "one of the hottest on record," perhaps some of those criminals might not have been willing to go outdoors and snatch purses. Then again, if last summer had been "one of the rainiest in history," would The Church of Global Warming hail climate change for reducing the number of stolen purses?

Sub-Zero Weather? It's Global Warming!
"Debate Over: It's Freezing" is a great post at Real Clear Politics. David Harsanyi's sarcastic wit hits home as he points out the idiocy of the lunatic global warming cultists. How many times, friends, have you heard one of them "explain" to you that it's colder here now because global warming can actually make parts of the world colder? I'd like to suggest a response to that. Ask them if they believe that turning the kitchen oven on will cause a room at the other end of the house to cool down. Or, turn it around with "Okay, then would global cooling cause parts of the planet to heat up?" Let's get back to Harsanyi's fine piece, which he starts with this:
The carbon footprint of Barack Obama's inauguration could exceed 575 million pounds of CO2. According to the Institute for Liberty, it would take the average U.S. household nearly 60,000 years of naughty ecological behavior to produce a carbon footprint equal to the largest self-congratulatory event in the history of humankind.
Harsanyi finishes with this:
Is warming by 0.74 degrees Celsius over the past 100 years really enough to make us panic? I mean, we probably could make that up by canceling the inauguration.

Environmental McCarthyism
The Climate Cabal, you might call it. (I do.) Al Gore and his crowd are profiting handsomely from the sale of carbon credits, and politically prospering by getting useful idiots everywhere to bow down to the Alter of Climate Change. Their goal: Control Over Every Aspect of Your Lives.
“The largest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy and prosperity,” warns Czech President Vaclav Klaus, “is no longer socialism. It is, instead, the ambitious, arrogant, unscrupulous ideology of environmentalism.” [Source]
President Klaus knows repressive socialism first hand. He grew up under the iron fist of the communist Soviet Union.
"Global warming," some call it. Now, because they know the evidence is not fully conclusive, and to avoid embarrassment, some call it the generic "climate change." Some scientists are even going as far as saying no, it's really "global cooling." Most of us skeptics, however, see it for what it is: The continuing fluctuation of Earth's climate. Has mankind contributed to it? Perhaps. How much have we contributed to it? Unknown. Credentialed scientists - many who are in no way connected or beholden to corporations - argue that the true scientific method demands continuing research, not a final pronouncement by politicians or scientists behold to government grants that no more scientific research is needed to definitively say that Global Whatever is absolutely caused by Evil Humans.
The useful idiots who have bought into the Global Warming/Cooling/Change propaganda will, of course, attempt to discredit President Klaus. They'll use the same tactics they use on any of their foes. He's an idiot, they'll say, a fool.
It is ironic that the Bush Haters embrace George Bush's recent "conversion" to the Church of Global Warming. Note to Bush Haters: If the Idiot Bush believes it, shouldn't you say to yourselves "Omigod, Bush believes it. I believe in something Bush now believes in, so the belief must be wrong?"
If Klaus is such a fool, then Al Gore should happily accept Klaus's challenge to a debate. Don't hold your breath waiting for Gore to accept.

A sort of environmental McCarthyism is at work when global warming is debated. Those who dare to ask probing questions about alarmism over global warming are branded as either evil or simply too stupid to understand.
