Video: Mitt Romney Sings "America The Beautiful" (Badly)

January 30, 2012 - The Villages, Florida - On the eve of Florida's Republican presidential primary election, candidate Mitt Romney holds a comfortable lead in the polls. He's ahead of Newt Gingrich by 15 points, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll today.
To celebrate, the former Massachusetts governor once again butchered "America The Beautiful" in public as he tried to sing it before a crowd of senior citizens at Lake Sumter Landing. It was his last campaign stop of the day. Video below.

"The Romney family was in a joyful mood Monday night," reports The Weekly Standard this evening, "as the campaign held its final campaign rally of the Florida GOP primary. During her introductory remarks, Mitt's wife Ann handed the microphone to her 5-year-old grandson Parker and asked him to tell the large crowd what he said on the campaign bus. 'I think papa's going to win!' he said. The crowd loved it."

NY Post / Getty Images
Barf, right? Did Abe Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt drag their snot-nosed grandchildren onto any stages when they were campaigning? When the heck did candidate start doing that?

And, why would Mitt's grandson refer to him as "Papa?" Isn't that what one calls one's father? Those northeasterners are weird. It's just creepy. Romney's attempt to sing was almost as pitiful as his attempt to fool the American electorate that he's a conservative.

Tragically, Romney's crooning tonight in The Prune Juice State is not the first time Romney has mangled "America The Beautiful."
It's as though he has some latent desire to seek revenge on the nation that rejected him in 2008 by inflicting us with his off-key warbling of such a beloved song.

In reality, of course, Romney uses the song in a schmaltzy attempt to connect with voters who are just as square as himself. He tends to tailor his performance of the song to his local audience. Often, notes John Swaine of The Telegraph (UK), this causes Romney's audience to groan.

Hot Video Asks How That Hope and Change Is Working For You (Reagan vs Obama)

There have been hundreds - perhaps thousands - of videos made about the failure of Obama's "hope and change." Here is one of the best I've seen, perhaps the best in terms of production quality and message. This one (below) is titled "How's That Workin' Out For You?" and it asks a question that Sarah Palin made popular: How IS that hope and change working for ya? Not so good? The hook of the song's lyrics:
How's that hope and change working out for you?
Did it give you all that you want it to?
Did it lead you into the promised land?
Next time you step inside of the voting booth
Maybe you will think of the honest truth
Instead of raising a foolish man.
The editing of this video masterful, the Russ Diamond's music is fresh and catchy. It pits Obama's false promises against the words of Ronald Reagan, but Obama's own words mock him best. Powerful stuff. Watch it. Share it. Talk about it. Visit Raintree Multimedia for more information.

FUNNIEST MITT ROMNEY VIDEO You'll Ever See!

You might need to change your pants after watching this video. It's a montage of clips of Mitt Romney, stitched together and then dubbed over with words he never spoke. He might as well have said these things, however, because they make as sense as most of what he actually has said on the campaign trail (and before). The video is another masterpiece of political humor by YouTuber "BadLipReading." They've done this before. Previous victims were Michele Bachmann and Barack Obama. Oh, and Rick Perry. Herman Cain Rides Rising Tide of GOP Love

October 10, 2011 - Herman Cain just keep rocketing upward in polls among likely Republican voters. Today, Bloomberg reported that "Cain Is Even With Romney on Economy Among Republican Backers." That, of course, is welcome news for Cainiacs across the USA. But the good news is even better than what the headline indicates: "While Romney barely leads on the economy," notes Bloomberg's Mike Dorning, "he maintains his overall advantage as the candidate Republican supporters most want to see as the nominee, at 24 percent, with Cain second at 16 percent on the eve of a Bloomberg-Washington Post Republican presidential debate that will focus on economic issues, according to a national poll by the two news organizations." Let's hear a collective "Wow!" That presidential debate, by the way will take place at 8:00 PM (Eastern) on Tuesday, October 10 at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. The Dartmouth College website has a good list of where you can watch or listen live, and even get your own two cents' worth in via social media. You can read more about Cain's rising poll numbers at Citizens4Cain.com. (Image: FOX News via Associated Press)

EXCLUSIVE: Herman Cain's Secret Video, 'EPA Gone Wild'

October 8, 2011 - Herman Cain uploaded a new video today, in which he calls the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) a jobs killer and promises to reign it in should he be elected president in 2012. He says the EPA needs "an attitude adjustment." The video has the simple title of "GOv GOne WIld.MOV." Watch the video below. Cain stands on a dark street in Washington, D.C. It's either night or early morning. There is no description available. It seems that this video was uploaded to YouTube with no editing. The video is apparently intended only for campaign workers and supporters, as he thanks them for their work. Here is a partial transcript of what Cain says in the video: "Hello, I'm Herman Cain. I want to first thank all of you for realizing something that a lot of people in this country haven't realized yet, but you have and you have done something about it... As I'm on this presidential campaign journey, I have also raised the alarm about something that's happening in Washington, D.C. that's killing jobs and taking away many of our liberties. I describe it as government gone wild. Specifically, the EPA gone wild. One of the things that I'm going to do as president of the United States is to make sure that the Environmental Protection Agency gets an attitude adjustment.... We will transform the EPA from an organization that believes that the taxpayers work for them, to an organization that understands that they work for us." Herman Cain has long been openly critical of the EPA. In a debate in September, Cain was asked which federal department he would eliminate first if he became president. He answered that he would "start with the EPA and start all over." The video doesn't even show on Cain's YouTube channel "thehermancain" yet, and might never. As of 5:30 PM ET, the video information says it was uploaded "6 hours ago," which would have been 11:30 AM ET. In fact, this video is "unlisted." Only those with the link can see it. Of course, those who visit Chicago News Bench can also see it.

My GOP Nomination Prediction for 2012

October 3, 2010 - Yes, it's early. Perhaps it is too early to predict who will get the Republican Party's nomination to run for President in 2012. I will risk ridicule, however, and go out on a limb right now to say that I believe Herman Cain will keep picking up steam and take it all. Cain is the boldest, straightest talking, most business-experienced one on the campaign trail. He can label an economic plan with "999" in its title and not be accused of devilry. That's devine. He doesn't have crazy eyes. He has executive experience but no controversial elected office baggage. He's one of the most exciting speakers I've ever witnessed. It's Cain. Herman Cain. Oh yeah, he's the only candidate who actually looks good in a cowboy hat.

Gingrich in 2012? He's Thinking About It

Newt Gingrich is considering a run for president in 2012. Gingrich has managed to keep himself in the public eye since leaving the House, but the blitz of public appearances in recent months is reminiscent of the run-up to 2007, when he toyed with a presidential run only to abandon it before the primaries began. Now, some are speculating that the former congressman from Georgia is laying the groundwork for a White House bid in 2012. Full Story... Did Obama Violate the Logan Act?

Obama and the Logan Act: The Invisible Scandal By Paul Zannucci at theamericansentinel.com Text of the Logan Act § 953. Private correspondence with foreign governments. Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both. This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply himself, or his agent, to any foreign government, or the agents thereof, for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects. 1 Stat. 613, January 30, 1799, codified at 18 U.S.C. § 953 (2004). Ah, nothing like a major scandal about a presidential candidate to get the media swarming like killer bees, right? Apparently not if that Candidate is Barack Obama, who is clearly in violation of the above referenced law and subject to prosecution. He has tried on two separate occasions to delay the negotiations of troop withdrawals from Iraq in order to gain politically in the upcoming elections. And in case you were wondering, the Logan Act does apply to members of Congress: In United States v. Curtiss-Wright Export Corp.(1936) , a case that often has been cited in Logan Act prosecutions, Justice Sutherland wrote in the majority opinion: “The President alone has the power to speak or listen as a representative of the nation. He makes treaties with the advice and consent of the Senate; but he alone negotiates. Into the field of negotiation the Senate cannot intrude, and Congress itself is powerless to invade it.” Here is a rundown of the major pieces of the puzzle: Amir Taheri reports in the New York Post that Obama met with Iraqi officials and tried to stall an agreement to withdraw U.S. troops until after the election. The McCain camp immediately responded here, asking reasonable questions. Shortly thereafter the Obama camped nuanced the event. They claimed that Obama was merely interfering with negotiations regarding the Strategic Framework Agreement, which by my reading is still a violation of the Logan Act. Still, that places him as less of a hypocrite since the Strategic Framework Agreement does not concern bringing the troops home, but focuses on the long-term presence of military bases in Iraq. One problem is that it isn’t true. In fact, Obama is on the record prior to his trip to Iraq as contacting Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari and arguing that he thought that “Congress should be involved in any negotiations regarding a Status of Forces Agreement with Iraq. He suggested it may be better to wait until the next administration to negotiate such an agreement.” This was reported by NBC and can be tracked here. This earlier event not only contradicts the current Obama camp nuance of the scandal but is, in itself, a violation of the Logan Act. So where is the swarm of scandal-loving reporters? Alaska, maybe? Fact checking a McCain ad? Annointing Obama’s feet with oil? It’s safe to say those activities are taking a lot of their time, so I can understand that they haven’t gotten around to this yet. Searches on the websites of ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN turn up no stories on the issue at all, and The New York Times buries the story in a blog post critical of McCain and the economy. It is up to you. It’s not good enough that this is being discussed on blogs and conservative talk radio. This has to get out there, and the media will not push it, will not even mention it. We need a person to person, grassroots campaign. Send emails to your mailing list buddies and ask them to pass it on. You can copy and paste our article, with or without credit, and use it if you like, or search Hot Air or Stop the ACLU for different material. The National Review Online and many conservative blogs also are covering the story. It doesn’t matter how you do it. Just join the fight to get this information out there. September Surprise: Fannie Mae & Barack Obama

Cooked books, funny money and US Senators taking big bucks. Barack Obama is one of the biggest buck receiver of all. Jamie Gorelick and others took tens of millions of dollars in bonuses. You will hear a a lot more about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the failure thereof in the days and weeks to come. McCain and Obama will both talk about it. Neither of them are experts on the subject. Oh, wait. Barack Obama just might be an expert because of all the money he's taken money from Fannie and Freddie. In fact, he's the Number Two recipient of money from them. There is a chart titled "All Recipients of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Campaign Contributions, 1989-2008," which shows Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-CT) as receiving a grand total of $165,400 over those 20 years. Dodd ranks Number One. Number Three rank goes to John Kerry (D-MA), who took $111,000 in the same period. Both he and Dodd have been in the Senate for many years. Number Two rank is Barack Obama (D-IL), who took $126,349. Keep in mind that His Highness has been in the Senate for a fraction of the time of Dodd or Kerry. Both the Republican and Democrat parties can accept blame for this mess, but..... According to OpenSecrets.org, "These totals are based on data released electronically from the FEC on Sept. 2 and include contributions to lawmakers' leadership PACs and candidate committees from the floundering companies' PACs and employees. Current members of Congress have received a total of $4.8 million from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, with Democrats collecting 57 percent of that. This week we also wrote about how much money lawmakers had invested of their own money in the companies last year--a total of up to $1.7 million." [Source with Table: OpenSecrets.org] Byron York notes that Franklin Delano Raines, Jamie Gorelick (of 9/11 Commission infamy) and others helped to cook the books. Yes, Hillary's involved in this too... and other big names as well. From 1998 to 2004, the years covered by the OFHEO investigation, it was headed by former Clinton budget director Franklin Raines, whose top management team included former Clinton Justice Department official Jamie Gorelick, sometimes mentioned as a future attorney general in a Democratic administration. During that period, the report says, Raines and his team grossly overstated Fannie Mae’s earnings — to the tune of $10.6 billion — for the purpose of paying themselves big bonuses. “By deliberately and intentionally manipulating accounting to hit earnings targets,” the report says, “senior management maximized the bonuses and other executive compensation they received, at the expense of shareholders.” Full Article at National Review Online... The money taken by members of the US Congress (both Senators and Representatives) pales, however, in comparison to the tens of millions doled out as bonuses to the likes of Jamie Gorelick and Franklin Raines. Eric O'Keefe writes that "This is a stunning financial development, and it should become a stunning political development. Of course Fannie paid the politically powerful from both parties, but they put their biggest dollars and biggest hires on the side of the biggest spenders," then shows us "how much some of the winners profited from this scandalous operation, according to an insightful Wall Street Journal editorial:" Franklin Raines, CEO: $90,128,761 (1998-2003) Jamie Gorelick, vice-chair: $26,466,834 (1998-2003) Jim Johnson, CEO: $21,000,000 (1998 alone) Raines, Gorelikc and Johnson are Democrats. If they were Republicans, would we have seen this screamed from CBS, NBC, CNN and all the rest by now? Well, yah, duh. DID OBAMA TRY TO KEEP TROOPS IN IRAQ?

DID BARACK OBAMA TRY TO DELAY TROOP WITHDRAWALS FROM IRAQ FOR PERSONAL POLITICAL GAIN? Truth About Palin from the UK

To listen to Team Obama, you might believe that Sarah Palin is some rube upstart, a white trailer trash broad from the boondocks who got where she's gotten by accident, and that she has no experience or wisdom. Team Obama is wrong, they're lying about it, and the Telegraph UK knows this. The Telegraph UK's James Bennett writes that "Sarah Palin is not such a small-town girl after all," and goes on to tell us things about Sarah Palin that the American mainstream media are reluctant to share. Here is an excerpt from Bennett's article (emphasis added): Far from being a reprise of Mr Smith Goes to Washington, Palin was a clear-eyed politician who, from the day she took office, knew exactly what she had to do and whose toes she would step on to do it. The surprise is not that she has been in office for such a short time but that she has succeeded in each of her objectives. She has exposed corruption; given the state a bigger share in Alaska's energy wealth; and negotiated a deal involving big corporate players, the US and Canadian governments, Canadian provincial governments, and native tribes - the result of which was a £13 billion deal to launch the pipeline and increase the amount of domestic energy available to consumers. This deal makes the charge of having "no international experience" particularly absurd. But, sadly, easy to believe if you're swallowing the lies from Team Obama. Oh, the big media outlets in the US know this too, but believe it or not kids, most of them are swinging for Obama.

Obama-Biden Insentive to Handicapped

Within one week, Obama-Biden mocked and ridiculed handicapped people, the elderly, injured war veterans, and people who do not use computers. The first incident involved US Senator Joe Biden, the dumbest lump of fecal matter ever to run for Vice President, recently told a wheelchair-bound man to "stand up," embarassing both himself and the man in front of thousands of people. Here's what happened, as reported by the The Star, Kansas City: [Biden] was speaking before a large crowd when he decided to give special recognition to State Senator Chuck Graham, a Columbia Democrat. "Chuck, stand up, let the people see you," Biden shouted. However, Biden did not realize that Graham is confined to a wheelchair. This raises questions: Could Biden not see Sen. Graham? If he could see him, did he not see the wheelchair? If he did see the wheelchair, did he not know what that indicated? Did Biden's staff not brief him about Sen. Graham? Why is Biden the VP candidate on a major party ticket? The second incident is an Obama-Biden campaign ad that, all in one minute, mocks elder handicapped war veterans and people who do not use computers. Bastard Obama Mocks Handicapped, War Veterans

In a post aptly titled "Obama's Brutish Ignorance," friend Anne Leary shows the cruelty of Kamp Obama. A new ad by Comrade Obama's team (video below) mocks John McCain for not being able to send an email or knowing how to use a computer. Uhm, are the Obamamite really so ignorant that they don't know McCain is physically challenged and cannot raise his arms to a keyboard? Or are they just insensitive to handicapped war veterans? And what about the millions of senior citizens who still haven't - and never will - learn to use a computer? Gosh, how did President Franklin Roosevelt manage with using email ... or being able to stand up? The Obama campaign ad that derided Sen. John McCain for not using email is creating a backlash, and deservedly so. The brutish ignorance displayed is breathtaking. Nor does the Tribune mention in their story on it today the real reason John McCain can't use a keyboard--he was beaten so hard in captivity he is unable to. FULL POST at Backyard Conservative... By the way, the bowling ball was invented waaaaay before computers, or even typewriters, and Barack Obama still doesn't know how to use one of those. Oh, and another thing - Does Barack Obama know how to fly a fighter jet??? McCain Popular in Vietnam

Bygones can be bygones, by golly. Senator John McCain, as you may have heard, was held as a POW in Vietnam for years at the infamous "Hanoi Hilton." He was tortured and to this day suffers the effects of that ordeal. He cannot, for example, raise his hands above his head and it is painful for him to attempt to type on a keyboard. Now, his former captors love him and would like to see him become the next president of the United States. "If I had a vote in the U.S., I would choose McCain," beams retired Col. Tran Trong Duyet, the camp's former commander. "I want him in the White House."

Wow. From former mortal enemies - either man would have killed the other in a field of combat in Vietnam - to political allies. This unlikely sentiment is widely shared in this fast-growing country of 85 million. "The majority of the people in Vietnam know Sen. McCain and feel comfortable about him," says Duong Trung Quoc, a member of Vietnam's National Assembly and secretary-general of the Association of Vietnamese Historians. "Nobody here knows about Obama." FULL STORY... RELATED: John McCain, Prisoner of War: A First-Person Account

I mean, when you see a car headed 90 miles an hour toward a brick wall, it's seems a safe bet that it's gonna hit the wall - and anybody in between it and the wall is gonna get hurt. Barack Obama slashed Hillary Clinton's once-commanding lead in the battle for the Democratic party's presidential nomination when he won five contests at the weekend by huge margins. In one of his best performances since he won the opening race in Iowa on January 3, he emerged on top in contests in places as diverse as Washington state, Nebraska, Louisiana, Maine and the US Virgin Islands.
