Locals Living Near Area 51 Brace For Possible Invasion

It started as a joke on Facebook. But suddenly it exploded with over 1.5 million people "signing up" to "storm Area 51" in Nevada "to see them aliens."

The Facebook event, called "Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us," says this: "We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them aliens."

The "naruto run," explains The Guardian newspaper, "refers to the particular, oft-memed, ostrich-like sprint of a popular Japanese anime character."

CBS8's I-Team filed this excellent video report about how local residents are preparing for up to a million people invading their neighborhood in the shadow of the secret facility. Not everyone is thrilled. Some who live near Groom Lake are apprehensive.

The US military is also apprehensive, points out The Guardian:
The US Air Force, however, is not amused, with a spokeswoman telling the New York Times “any attempt to illegally access military installations or military training areas is dangerous”. “No trespassing” signs in the area reportedly state that the use of “deadly force” against intruders is authorized.
Even world-famous Area 51 whistle blower Bob Lazar is urging people to stay away and not to invade the top secret facility. He says there are no aliens and no alien technology at Area 51, as reported by AVClub.com.

Video of UFO Over China Soccer Game, Feb 2011

This is a very interesting UFO video, taken from the stands of a soccer game in China. The good part of the 1:18 video (below) comes in at the 29-second mark. As the camera holder records the action of the game, someone apparently taps him/her on the shoulder to make them aware of a strange hovering object in the sky. The camera swerves to the UFO, then back to the game, then back for a rather good view of something that hovers unlike any airplane, and with a profile like no helicopter. Not as spectacular as the China Spiral UFO, but interesting. Michael Cohen at allnewsweb.com wrote about this today. "The UFO clip below is making the rounds of the Chinese Internet and the massive online community of UFO enthusiasts in that part of the world." Read more about this UFO at allnewsweb.com... "UFO," by the way, simply means "unidentified flying object," not necessarily a spaceship from another planet. It would seem that UFOs like soccer fields. Be sure to watch the second video below, with a UFO buzzing Green Point Soccer Stadium in Cape Town.

The "Octopus" UFO

An intriguing UFO mystery in the UK has people buzzing. Hundreds of witnesses claim to have seen flying objects "with tentacles" fly through a wind farm near Louth, Lincolnshire, and one of the wind turbines suffered a badly damaged blade. Some witnesses have said an octopus-shaped UFO was seen flying through the air hours before the turbine was destroyed. One woman said she saw an object fly towards the wind farm, while others described the lights as being linked by "tentacles", leading locals to dub it the octopus UFO. (Source: Telegraph.co.uk) As an expert stated, a "UFO" simply means a flying object that is unidentified. "UFO" does not necessarily mean "extraterrestrial" craft. Some members of the British Ministry of Defence, it is reported, say the mysterious objects might have been drone stealth bombers. But then again, they might have been extraterrestrial craft from Alpha Centauri. I'm just saying. Subscribe to Chicago News Bench

BRIT GOVT TO RELEASE UFO FILES

The Sun reports that British government will begine to release its top-secret UFO-related documents and files gradually, over the next four years. Contrast that to the still-tight manner that the U.S. Government treats its UFO files. FULL STORY... RELATED: AIR FORCE: ROSWELL UFO CASE CLOSED

Interstellar Frat Boy Pranks

Worth reading: A wonderful, funny and thought provoking piece by J. Scott Wilson , Staff Writer at WXII-2.
"Maybe the thousands of lights, shapes and shadows seen by millions of people in the skies all over the world over the last century or so have all been weather balloons, swamp gas, pranks, hallucinations and/or cloud formations. "Maybe."

Conspiracy?

I'm sure none of the readers of this blog believe that the U.S. Government could possibly be involved in a massive coverup of military information. Nah, not our trusty gummint. None of you has ever accused Uncle Sam of being tight with his secrets, not you. Just because you can believe that the federal government deliberately blew up the World Trade Center doesn't mean you are open minded to the possibility that one or two of the trillions of stars in the universe could produce a spacefaring culture. Right? Well, here's an alleged conspiracy that may interest you either because you find it hysterically ridiculous or because you are open to the possibility of intelligent extraterrestrial visitors. Carl Sagan was, why not you? In "The Real X Files," John Greenewald Jr. is interviewd about his lifelong fascination with UFOs and aliens. "His online 'Black Vault' may be the biggest UFO database in the world." Perhaps. Let's find out....

Nuke Physicist Discusses Roswell, UFOs

Sorry, this is NOT about the Planet Muon. But it is about the possibility of intelligent extraterrestrial life visiting Earth. A fascinating article titled "On the Road to Roswell: A Discussion with Nuclear Physicist Stanton Friedman" explores the controversy of the July 1947 "Roswell incident," in which UFOs were spotted over the area in New Mexico and, most importantly, one was shot down and recovered. Maybe. Maybe not. While some mechanics liens attorneys are quick to mock and poke fun at the notion of intelligence from other planets, nuclear physicists like Dr. Friedman give it careful and serious consideration (not to mention the tens of thousands of people from around the world, including the late Carl Sagan, miliary pilots, top government ministers, former governors, countless police officers, etc.). Raiders News Network has a series of interviews that focus on the 60th Anniversary of the 1947 Roswell, New Mexico, UFO Incident. Here is an excerpt form the first: STAN FRIEDMAN: I first heard of Roswell in the early 1970s from a woman named Lydia Sleppy whose son was a forest ranger in California. He had had a good sighting. My associate (Bobbi Ann Slate Gironda , long deceased) and I spoke with him and he suggested we talk to his mother who had had a good sighting near Albuquerque. We did speak to her and after she told us about the sighting, she mentioned that when she had been working at an Albuquerque Radio Station in the late 1940s, she was asked to type the story coming in from a broadcaster at their Roswell affiliate station for a newswire. He dictated how a flying saucer had been recovered and was being sent to Wright Field. Part way through the story the bell went off on the machine she was using to put the story on the news wire. The FBI instructed her not to continue the transmission. She remembered the names of some of the people and I located several, but came to a dead end. I should stress that New Mexico was a hotbed of classified Research and Development activities and certainly it was expected that there would be spies and counter intelligence concerns. Roswell 60 Years On

Whether you take extraterrestrials straight or with a grain of salt, it's fun. The town of Roswell has taken lemons and, over 60 years, turned it into very profitable lemonade. Roswell plans 60th anniversary UFO fest The 60th anniversary of the so-called "Roswell Incident" will be marked July 5-8 at the city's annual UFO festival. FULL STORY...
