Senate Votes to Kill ACORN Funding, 83-7

UPDATE, 9/17/09: HOUSE VOTES TO DEFUND ACORN, 375-75 ******************* The corrupt criminal organization ACORN, which we've reported on for years now, has finally been recognized as the fraud that it is by the U.S. Senate. On Monday, Sept. 14, the Senate voted 83-7 to deny funding to the nationwide network of corrupt "community organizers": WASHINGTON (Associated Press) - The Senate voted Monday to block the Housing and Urban Development Department from giving grants to ACORN, a community organization under fire in several voter-registration fraud cases. The 83-7 vote would deny housing and community grant funding to ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. Full story, MSNBC... Hat tip to Chicago Ray Report. Commentary The reason for the Senate's surprising action: Bloggers, period. When two young citizen journalists exposed ACORN in some amazing videos last week, the blogosphere exploded with the news of ACORN offices (at least three) were giving advice that would help people run a house of prostitution, smuggle underaged girls into the US from El Salvador, evade IRS rules and regulations, and more. With the exception of Fox News, the mainstream media did its best to downplay or completely ignore the huge story and protect ACORN's biggest ally Barack Obama. Incredibly, the vapid Charlie Gibson was totally unaware of the current ACORN scandal, as he admitted on WLS 890 AM on Sept. 15. We are in day six of the story, and it continues like an avalanche. It is still rolling and picking up speed. The Senate voted to cut off ACORN last night night, yet Gibson, the dumbest ABC News anchor ever, was completely ignorant of the current scandal and of the Senate vote. Hear audio and read the transcript at Michelle Malkin's web site. No wonder Gibson will soon "retire" and be replaced by Dianne Sawyer as the ABC World News anchor. IF THE RESULTING INVESTGATIONS INTO ACORN proceed as they should, watch for prosecutions and more trouble not only in ACORN, but with their bed partners SEIU and teachers unions nationwide. Politicians who have benefitted from ACORN-SEIU support should also be scrutinized thoroughly. Alinksy's Rules for a Sleeping Giant

For years, I've advocated that conservatives learn the rules of war that the Left has been using against America for decades. I learned them in college 30 years ago when I battled self-described Trotskyites at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Now, finally, it seems that conservatives are rubbing their sleep eyes and waking up. Like the red-coated British who could not compete with the American colonists's guerilla tactics, conservatives have too long been constrained by politeness and meekness. The Leftists, meanwhile, have been throwing bricks and torching cars. No, I don't advocate violence, but I frankly find it refreshing to see ordinary Americans speaking up and loudly, holding impolite signs and causing great inconvenience for Democrats and sell-out Republicans at townhall meetings. Tea party protests have, up to now, been far too polite. On Monday, August 10 in Kansas City, Missouri, reports The Atlantic, "The a group of conservative organizers [conducted] a most unusual training session. They [taught] the 'Rules for Radicals' laid down by the god of community organizing, Saul Alinsky. The idea: learn to recognize the footprints of the enemy." (This event happened on Monday, August 10, 2009.) Obama the Blockwart

Some good. Some bad. Not all "community organizers" work for the general good. Hitler, for example, was a Blockwart (German for "block warden," or "community organizer"). Hitler later used other Blockwarten to perpetuate his evil. It cannot be denied that the Nazis organized a community. Today a community, tomorrow the world, perhaps. Hitler's oratorial skills and organizing abilities helped him to take advantage of social and economic unrest, just as many (not all) "community organizers" do today. Other examples of people who organized communities in history: Gangster Disciples ("GDs") - Chicago based gang, estimated by FBI to rake in around $100 Million per year in nationwide narcotics sales. According to knowgangs.com, the GDs have tried more than once to legitimize their image by becoming, yep, community organizers: "In the 1990s the Gangster Disciples entered into politics through the formation of the 'Growth and Development' movement. Gangster Disciples began blanketing the city of Chicago attempting to register voters from the inner city. They then 'encouraged' the newly registered voters to vote for candidates loyal to their cause. While incarcerated, the Black Gangster Disciples will unite with allied gangs under the guise of the Brothers of Struggle (BOS). The gang continues to be involved in large scale drug trafficking, murders and white-collar crime." [Source] Benito Mussolini - Mussolini's skills as an orator and organizer helped him to take advantage of social and economic unrest. Gengis Khan - Organized his community in Mongolia, got on their horses, and went forth to reorganize, rape and pillage other communities. Huey Newton and Bobby Seale, the Black Panthers - Worked for civil rights but believed in doing so violently. They rejected Martin Luther King's nonviolence credo and worked for equality in education, housing, employment and civil rights - by preaching hate for and violence toward white people. Sadly, the Panthers also used murderous violence and larceny on their own community. (See: Ah, those Black Panthers! How Beautiful! by Sol Stern) Ku Klux Klan - Leaders of the racist KKK were always organizing, or attempting to organize, their communities. Some were successful, others not. There are tens of thousands more examples, good and bad. I highlighted a few bad ones here just to illustrate that the term "community organizer" is meaningless if it is not put into context.
