Non-Partisan Group Says Obama is a War Criminal

Obama's death drones
May 17, 2013 - Closing Guantanamo and ending torture of detainees was one of his campaign promises in 2008. In 2013, of his former supporters on the Left say Obama is worse than  President George W. Bush in the way he has continued to detain Guantanamo inmates.

In fact, Obama has authorized, condoned and/or covered up torture, drone killing of civilians and other crimes -- and should be indicted. That's the conclusion of The Constitution Project, a legal research and advocacy group, in its "Report on Detainee Treatment."

Petitioning Obama (change.org)
The charges are detailed in a report and video from The Western Center for Journalism (watch the video below). The New York Times reported the story on its front page on April 16, but it received secondary attention because of the massive coverage of the Boston Marathon bombing.

A NY Times opinion piece on April 16 said that the Constitution Project's report "is also rightly critical of the Obama administration’s use of expansive claims of secrecy to keep the details of rendition and torture from becoming public and to block victims’ lawsuits."

"A nonpartisan group, The Constitution Project, in their mammoth 600-page report, has concluded that Barack Hussein Obama, the 44th President of the United States, should be indicted for war crimes in the authorization or coverup of the use of torture during interrogation on detainees at Guantánamo and CIA 'black sites'," according The Western Center for Journalism today.

The report is also critical of the administrations of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

GULAG Guantanamo
Hope and Change? "Obama originally said when he ran for office that he would close the Guantanamo Bay prison," wrote Rachel Alexander for Town Hall on May 13, "and after being elected in 2009, publicly instructed  the military to shut it down within one year. It is now over four years later, into his second term, and the prison is still open. Most of the prisoners have been there for over 11 years without a trial. Nine have died since it opened in 2002. The scrutiny has intensified in recent months as a majority of the 166 inmates, down from a high of 684 in 2003, have gone on hunger strikes, and at least 21 of the men are being force-fed twice daily. The administration has approved 86 detainees for release, but curiously none have been released so far this year."

Torture, Abuse at Cook County Jail

The next time you hear about "torture" at Gitmo, think about Dr. Linda Lorincz Shelton. She has suffered real torture and abuse right here in Cook County. If you are concerned about torture and abuse by law enforcement officials, violations of human rights by Cook County officials, or the horrible conditions at Cermak Hospital and Cook County Jail, you should know her story. Dr. Shelton is a pediatrician and mental health service provider (presently unlicensed), former medical and biological sciences research scientist (molecular biology, immunology, and experimental pathology with minor experience in forensic pathology), internet writer, civil rights activist, and ex-con. Whoa, "ex-con?" As she writes, she was "wrongfully incarcerated for the false allegation of kicking an officer with my partially paralyzed leg in retaliation for my whistle blower activities against corrupt officials, police, and courts in Illinois and Cook County." She writes extensively - and brilliantly - about the torture and medical neglect that she says she suffered in Cook County Jail and under the heinous, David Fagus-run Cermak Hospital, the jail's infirmary. (Fagus is also the 49th Ward Democrat Committeeman in Chicago, and a close political ally of Alderman Joe Moore. Neither has publicly condemned the repeated human rights violations of Cook County Jail or Cermak Hospital.) CIA Proves Pelosi Lied

Nancy Pelosi has been caught in yet another lie. She has claimed that she was never told about "harsh interrogation" methods used on terrorist combatants. But she was told about it. The thought of a Democrat lying might shock two or three of you, but to many of us this is just more of the same. The Washington Post: Intelligence officials released documents this evening saying that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was briefed in September 2002 about the use of harsh interrogation tactics against al-Qaeda prisoners, seemingly contradicting her repeated statements over the past 18 months that she was never told that these techniques were actually being used. So, Pelosi knew about the interrogation methods well over six years ago but said nothing until it served her politically to say something. In other words, Democrat Pelosi was enabling the Bush Administration, apparently having no problem with the methods that she was told about. Only when it seemed politically expedient did she begin to criticize the methods. This is reminiscent of other Democrat lies concerning the general subject of the war on terror. Democrat "leaders" who given full briefings before and after the invasion of Iraq publicly pretended that the knew nothing. Democrat leaders act like Sergeant Schultz in Hogan's Heroes, the bumbling, cowardly German prison guard who pretended to "know nothing" even when he did. Republicans have accused her of knowing for many years precisely the techniques CIA agents were using in interrogations, and only protesting the tactics when they became public and liberal antiwar activists protested. Full Story at The Washington Post... Nancy Pelosi has proven again and again that she is little more than an opportunity whore, an ideoligically vapid husk of a woman. For Nancy Pelosi, her own political career is more important than any true political beliefs. We can respect someone for their heartfelt politics, if they are sincere and not hypocritical. Nancy Pelosi is insincere, hypocritical, and should resign for the good of both the nation and her own party. Pelosi Encouraged Waterboarding

Hypocrite Nancy "Stretch" Pelosi, it turns out, was quite the waterboarding enthusiast. That was before she thought she could use it as a cheap political wedge. Pelosi knew about waterboarding years ago. The Wall Street Journal wrote this scathing bit on Dec. 11: After ... days of screaming headlines about the CIA destroying videotapes in 2005 of the "harsh" interrogation of two terrorists, it now comes to light that in 2002 key members of Congress were fully briefed by the CIA about those interrogation techniques, including waterboarding. One member of that Congressional delegation was the future House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi.... In all, the CIA provided Congress with some 30 briefings on waterboarding before it became a public issue. No Justice In Mexico (with video)

A frightening report from Amnesty International about the cruelty that is rampant in Mexico. Part of the problem is that Mexico's constitution does not provide for the right to the presumption of innocence. "In Mexico, the criminal justice system is gravely flawed. The country’s law and enforcement agencies and judicial system do not effectively protect people from human rights abuses, and perpetrators are rarely brought to justice. "These systemic deficiencies lead to arbitrary detentions, torture, fabrication of evidence and unfair trials." Full article...
