"Worst Black Congressman" Freaks Out at Townhall Meeting

Congressman David Scott (Democrat) of Georgia got very angry and yelled at the good folks in a little townhall audience. He falsely accused them of not even being his constituents, when in fact they were constituents. (Is Scott just paranoid or does he believe his own party's propaganda lies about conservatives astroturfing townhall events?) The Black Commentator magazine called Scott the "worst black congressman" in their March 31, 2005 issue cover story. They wrote this about him: Most of you don’t even know his name. David Scott (rhymes with rot) is the most non-representative Black person in the U.S. Congress. The very worst. Rep. Scott, whose district lies south of Atlanta, runs with a gaggle of renegade rightwing House members that includes Harold Ford, Jr., of Memphis, Alabama’s Artur Davis and fellow Georgian Sanford Bishop. Scott leads the pack, having managed to vote with Republicans more than any other member of the Congressional Black Caucus on issues tracked by Techpolitics.org, the authoritative site run by veteran political researcher Ken Colburn. Rep. Scott may have been with running with a few Republicans in 2005, but when it comes to dodging questions about health care, high taxes and government waste in general, Scott seems to be a full-blooded Democrat. The videos of him melting down at that recent townhall bear witness to that. and you can see them at NBC 11 Atlanta's website. Here's an excerpt from NBC 11's report: DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -- U.S. Rep. David Scott (D-13th) was involved in what many called an embarrassing display of losing his temper at a town hall meeting in Douglasville last weekend. In the meeting, Scott lost his temper and began yelling at a crowd that included two people who came forward during the question-and-answer portion of the meeting to ask Scott about his stance on the health care plan proposed by the White House and being debated on Capitol Hill. >>> Now watch the videos. It's great theater. Bad Intersections, Ald. Stone, Ald Moore Don't Care

The aldermen in Chicago's 49th and 50th wards seem to not care about the safety of bikers, pedestrians or motorists. To wit: Rogers Park (east) sits along the shoreline of Lake Michigan. It is ruled over by 49th Ward Alderman Joe Moore. For years, the intersection of W. Pratt and N. Greenview, in Moore's ward and right in front of a school, has been dangerous. The vast majority of motorists driving westbound on Pratt do not stop at the clearly visible stop sign. This includes CTA buses and trucks of all kind, and it happens day and night, rain or shine. I've had a video posted to this blog since December, 2006 which shows vehicle after vehicle blowing the sign. Moore has done nothing about it. Is he waiting for a group of school children to die before he takes proactive measures? West Ridge is ruled over by 50th Ward Alderman Berny Stone, who seems to care about traffic safety about as much as Joe Moore does. Rogers Parka blog's Jackie recounts when she was struck by a vehicle in February, 2007 in Stone's ward, at the intersection of N. Western and W. Granville. While crossing Western, I was hit by a car traveling east on Granville.... he struck me on my right knee and I went flying onto the ground. At least, the driver.... stopped and helped me right myself.... I sustained a small (but very painful) fracture and, for three weeks, hobbled around in deep snow. On crutches! .... I emailed Bernard Stone's office about my accident, and told them to consider putting a red light camera at that intersection. The response? "A camera isn't necessary." So that was the end of that conversation. I suppose that something will be done... after a pedestrian is killed! Full Post... Jackie was not asking for anything for herself. She was asking a city council member to consider a way to make an intersection safer. According to Jackie, Ald. Stone didn't seem to give it any consideration. Ah, Chicago, the city that works. When the aldermen want it to, that is. CommieBama Hats and More Chicago News Bench RSS Feed Follow ChiNewsBench on Twitter!

Detroit Mayor Pleads Guilty, Resigns

ANOTHER PAL OF BARACK OBAMA IN TROUBLE. ANOTHER PAL DISOWNED BY BARACK OBAMA. DETROIT'S "HIP-HOP MAYOR" KWAME KILPATRICK PLEADS GUILTY TO BAD BEHAVIOR. Salon.com has a killa article about the ongoing troubles... As much as Detroiters are relieved to be rid of their lubricious, dissembling mayor, Barack Obama has to be even more relieved. Kilpatrick pleaded guilty this morning and simultaneously agreed to resign as mayor. Detroit's City Council begged him to resign for months. Michigan's governor and state legislature spent months consulting with lawyers to boot him out of office. Democrat Kilpatrick agreed this morning to resign immediately upon his guilty plea. See Guilty Plea Video Here. Last year, before addressing the Detroit Economic Club, Obama praised Kilpatrick as "a great mayor." This year, he told the mayor to stay away from the Democratic National Convention. In fact, late yesterday, Obama's camp issued a statement saying that Kilpatrick is hurting the city by staying in office. The campaign made the statement in response to a Free Press inquiry regarding Wednesday's developments in the text message scandal. [Source: Detroit Free Press] Why Obama showed such poor judgement in praising Kilpatrick, and for so long ignoring Detroit's massive problems of unemployment, scandal and decay under Kilpatrick is anybody's guess. One thing is clear, however: Kilpatrick was a good soldier in the Democrat Army, a politician in the Detroit Machine no different than the corrupt cogs in the Chicago Machine, of which Obama is a product. Kilpatrick has earned himself a bad reputation. By "bad," I mean "not good." But that didn't stop Barack Obama from lavishing praise on him a year ago. "And so I'm grateful to call him a friend and a colleague," Obama said, "And I'm looking forward to a lengthy collaboration in terms of making sure that Detroit does well in the future." Obama won't get that "lengthy collaboration" from his "friend and colleague," who is bound now for jail. By his reelection campaign in 2005, Kilpatrick already had his head on the chopping block. His 300-pound ex-footballer's frame, his chalk-striped suits and his diamond earrings had earned him the nickname "The Hip-Hop Mayor." Kilpatrick had alienated voters by leasing a $25,000 Lincoln Navigator on the city's dime and traveling with a Caesarian security detail. He allegedly used a city card to charge champagne and spa massages. FULL ARTICLE at Salon...
