Chicago Tea Party Meeting Promises Spirited Debate
The August Monthly Meeting of the Chicago Tea Party will be jam packed. On Wednesday, August 18, we will hear from Mark Batinick, Campaign Manager for Cedra Crenshaw, as well as a candidate for U.S. Congress and a candidate for U.S. Senate.
Mark Batinick will tell us about how Crenshaw got involved in the Tea Party movement and why she decided to run for office. We'll also discuss how you can help Cedra Crenshaw in her campaign against the Chicago Machine.
We'll also hear live, eyewitness reports from several people who attended Melissa Bean's meeting last week where thug tactics were used to intimidate her constituents. Please watch the video here if you have not already done so. Following the discussion of Bean's meeting, we will hear from her opponent, Joe Walsh, candidate for U.S Congress, IL-8th District. Joe will talk to us about why he's running and contrast the differences between him and Melissa Bean.
Date: Wednesday, August 18, 2010 - 7:00 p.m.
Location: Original Blackie's, 755 S. Clark Street, Chicago 60605 (view map)
Note: This is NOT "Boston Blackies".
Finally, we'll also hear from Michael Labno, Libertarian Candidate for U.S. Senate. Labno is on the ballot and running against Mark Kirk and Alexi Giannoulias. Michael will explain why he is running, what he stands for, and will take questions from the audience. This is your opportunity to directly question one of the candidates for U.S. Senate and get more informed about the race.
Plans for the following will be discussed:
* Trip to 8/28 Restoring Honor Rally in Washington
* The next Chicago Tea Party Rally on 9/12, Freedom Fest
* Right Nation Event on 9/18 featuring Glenn Beck and other speakers
The monthly meetings of the Chicago Tea Party are open to all freedom loving Americans. As always, we will devote time to an open forum where you can discuss any issues you would like.

Rep. Melissa Bean Employing Intimidation Tactics at Meetings
Democrats are afraid of their constituents, and U.S. Rep. Melissa Bean (D-IL, 8th Cong. District) is no exception. There has been a virtual drought of Democrat town hall-style meetings this summer,
due to the fact that many voters refuse to accept the lies and double talk and openly challenge the politicians. Now and then, however, a meeting can't be avoided.
In this case, Bean held a public meeting at the Round Lake, Illinois Public library on Thursday, August 12. She brought special friend, dubbed "Bruno the Bone-Crusher" by Gateway Pundit. Bruno's only function, it seems, was to intimidate anyone in the room who voiced an opinion contrary to Bean's ideology. The video is priceless: Bean avoided answering questions, as usual, by telling people to call her office -- instead of simply responding to them there at the meeting.
You can this behavior by Bean in another video, recorded in February, 2010. The description at YouTube says, "This video was recorded on February 27th, 2010 at a Grayslake, IL grocery store. As is very obvious, the people are rightfully angry at the Congresswoman for her unwillingness to answer questions truthfully."
Who is this guy? Is he an SEIU goon? Is he ex-KGB? We don't know. If you do, please tell us, and then explain why any elected official would employ such intimidation tactics. Watch future meetings held by Bean to see if a roaming thug in the room is now standard practice.

Bean, Halvorson Will Vote Yes On Health Care
Saturday, March 20, 2010 - U.S. Representatives Melissa Bean (8th District) and Debbie Halvorson (11th) announced today that they will support Health Care "reform" in the crucial vote in Congress tomorrow. Read Bean's press release. Read Halvorson's press release.
Rep. Bill Foster (14th) has still not decided how to vote. A late morning report from the Daily Herald says that Foster "still had not made up his mind today, a spokesman said. He continues to read and evaluate the lengthy legislation."
David Rogers of Politico.com said this about Bean's decision: "Illinois Rep. Melissa Bean, a swing Democratic vote and leader in the business-oriented New Democrats caucus, came off the fence for healthcare reform Saturday, telling POLITICO that the promise of long-term deficit reduction and small business tax credits had helped to win her over."
House Minority Leader John Boehner wrote this on his Twitter page around 4:00 p.m. EDT: "If we can stop the 'Slaughter Solution,' the American people can stop this hc takeover." Boehner gave a link to "House Democrats abandon 'deem and pass'," an article in The Washington Times today.

This is the weekend the fate of our healthcare will be decided. Many people could not attend Tuesday's rallies in front of the offices of Rep. Melissa Bean and Rep. (Note: There will also be a big rally in Washington DC on Saturday at Noon.)
Bean is one of a handful of Illinois Democrats still undedicided. We need to keep the pressure on for her to vote "NO".

Melissa Bean Opposes Gitmo Detainee Transfer to Illinois
For Immediate Release - November 17, 2009
CHICAGO – In a crushing blow to Governor Pat Quinn and Senator Dick Durbin’s plan to move Gitmo to Illinois, Democratic Illinois Congresswoman Melissa Bean today announced she opposed any transfer of terrorists to the United States – including Illinois. Bean opposes any transfer and cites national security risks as her primary reason.
The Lake County News Sun today quotes Congresswoman Bean as saying: "I remain opposed to transferring Guantanamo detainees to Illinois, or anywhere in the United States, without substantial assurances regarding potential security threats."
Bean’s statement comes on the heels of new survey results showing that only 32% of Illinois voters support the Quinn/Durbin plan while 57% oppose.
“We hope other Democrats like Bill Foster and Debbie Halvorson will have the courage to stand up to Governor Quinn and Senator Durbin and do what’s right for the people of Illinois,” Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady said.

Melissa Bean Protest
Lake County Tea Party invites you to come out and join the protest of Congresswoman Melissa Bean (D-IL) on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009.
Rep. Bean is again selectively ducking her constituents. This health care event is by paid fee only in front of the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce.
Wednesday, September 2nd
Lake Zurich Chamber of Commerce Breakfast
Outside Concorde Banquets
20922 Rand Road
Kildeer, IL
7:00 AM - 9:30 AM
She did finally schedule a tele-townhall but that also was a failure. It appeared she again selectively chose who she called and who got to ask a question. Why is Melissa Bean continuing to not talk to all the citizens of the 8th district?
