Karl Rove Gets Re-Invited to Loyola in Chicago
January 31, 2011 - Chicago - Karl Rove will be speaking at Loyoal University Chicago after all. Last July, conservative activists at Loyola University Chicago had planned to bring Karl Rove to
their campus to speak in the fall semester. Loyola's administrators had other plans, however.
Jessica Reynolds reported the story for the Loyola Student Dispatch:
After months of controversy, Karl Rove will get his chance to speak at Loyola University Chicago. Rove, senior advisor and deputy chief of staff to former President George W. Bush, and now a FOX News regular, will speak at the university on March 22. Full Story at Loyola Student Dispatch...
It's all part of Rove's book tour for "Courage and Consequence," of course.
For those of you who just can't get enough of Karl Rove, he will be the keynote speaker at the annual McKinley Club banquet on Feb 22, 2011 at the Niles McKinley Memorial Auditorium in Niles, Illinois. More info here.

Loyola University Refuses to Let Karl Rove Speak (Updated)
July 21, 2010 - Chicago - While many college students are currently enjoying their time off, some are utilizing this summer to prepare for the upcoming school year. Conservative activists at Loyola University Chicago
were planning to bring best-selling author and Young America’s Foundation lecturer Karl Rove to their campus for the fall semester. Administrators had other plans, however.
Update, July 24: The hypocrisy of Loyola University Chicago keeps getting thicker, with their announcement that Obama's religious advisor Eboo Patel will speak on campus in August. See Loyola University Says No Political Speakers - Unless They Work for Obama.
University officials denied the request to host Karl Rove, arguing that due to their 501(c)(3) tax status, they cannot host a “political” speaker before the midterm elections. Those with even the faintest knowledge of tax law understand that is simply not the case.
Kimberly A. Moore, director of student affairs and Greek affairs at Loyola University Chicago, told students in an email that, “The timing of this event is problematic given the campaign cycle. Loyola has to maintain impartiality in order to protect our tax-exempt status.” It is important to note that Karl Rove is not working for any campaign this season.
As if that weren’t egregious enough, Loyola University Chicago has a history of hosting partisan speakers on election years. On September 1, 2004, Howard Dean was allowed to speak on campus. Just a couple weeks later, third party candidate Ralph Nader not only spoke on campus, but it was also advertised as a campaign event and donations were solicited.
After long discussions, Loyola officials offered to host the event after the midterm elections, but given Karl Rove's busy schedule, that is simply not possible. Source: Young America's Foundation...

Insane Code Pink Bitch Attacks Karl Rove (Video)

Is Code Pink typical of all liberals? No, of course not, no more so than the occasional nutter in a large crowd of Tea Partiers is typical of that group. As the great American philosopher Rodney King once said, "Can't we all just get along?" That would be nice, but Jodie Evans and her ilk seem opposed to that notion.
As KayL writes, "Within any large group, there are going to be a few who reside on the fringe, and we see plenty of this from the left too, as the Code Pinkers continue to show. It’s a sad reality, but there’s no excuse for this behavior substituting for civil debate." More at SamAdamsAlliance.org...

CIA's Panetta Counters Pelosi
As mentioned yesterday, Pelosi the Psychopath can't lie very well. She's busy lying about her previous knowledge of waterboarding, and she continues to lie badly. Today, this from the Washington Post:
CIA Director Leon Panetta today rejected House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's charge that the agency misled her in 2002 about its use of waterboarding and other coercive interrogation methods on suspected terrorists. Panetta, who took office as President Obama's CIA chief in February, reasserted the agency's claim that it told congressional leaders about the use of such methods during a closed-door briefing in September 2002. Pelosi (D-Calif.) has acknowledged attending the briefing but says she was told only that the CIA was considering the use of waterboarding, or simulated drowning. Full Story at Washington Post...
KARL ROVE weighed in on this hot topic, with a May 15 column in the Wall Street Journal:
If Mrs. Pelosi considers the enhanced interrogation techniques to be torture, didn't she have a responsibility to complain at the time, introduce legislation to end the practices, or attempt to deny funding for the CIA's use of them? If she knew what was going on and did nothing, does that make her an accessory to a crime of torture, as many Democrats are calling enhanced interrogation? Full Column at Wall Street Journal...
