Obama Ditches Oil Tax, Breaks Campaign Promise

Not even sworn into office yet, Obama is already breaking a campaign pledge to raise taxes on oil companies. Now, people are asking whether Obama is in the pocket of Big Oil. (Is that the "change" you voted for?) During the campaign, Mr Obama repeatedly promised to submit oil and gas companies to a profits windfall tax, citing the disparity between their huge profits and the struggles of ordinary Americans.
