Most Blacks, Latinos Voted For Proposition 8

Proposition 8, on California's ballot on Tuesday, Nov. 7, confirmed marriage in that state as being only between one man and one woman. Blacks and Latinos, wrote the Washington Post, are the ones who "drove a stake through the heart of same-sex marriage" by overwhelmingly voting in favor of Prop. 8. However, Sodom-Americans are unhappy that the people have spoken in a democratically held, free election. They have been busy protesting the vote cast by the people of California and vow to fight it, but at least one of their tactics is unfair: They are blaming the Mormons. Yah, a church over in Utah which had nothing to do with the passage of Prop. 8. Utah residents did not vote on California's ballots. It is doubtful that most Blacks and Latinos pay any attention to what the Church of the Latter Day Saints recommends. Rather, in large part, Blacks and Latinos overwhelmingly voter for Prop. 8. Ah, but the Democrats and the Far Left don't want that to be known, because then they'd have to lay blame on a huge part of their own constituency. In fact, they and their allies in the mainstream media are actively covering it up. A search today for the story online turned up this, at MSNBC: Most Calif. blacks backed proposition 8 53 percent of Latinos also supported the gay-marriage ban High black voter turnout helped pass Prop 8 Nov. 6: California voters narrowly approved a measure to ban same-sex marriage, reversing a court decision in May that allowed it. NBC's Pete Williams reports. The page you are seeking has expired and is no longer available at msnbc.com. However, it may be available at The Washington Post. So, MSNBC dropped the story. (Perhaps somebody at the DNC made a terse phone call.) When you try to follow the link over to the Washington Post, however, you land on a general page with nothing related to the story. After doing a search of the Post's site for "blacks, latinos, Proposition 8," we finally found "Most of California's Black Voters Backed Gay Marriage Ban: 53% of Latinos Also Supported Proposition 8" among other stories. Why the link was changed, thereby making the story difficult to find, is mysterious. To be fair, however, the Post did write a hard-hitting, straight talking (no pun intended) article. The first paragraph sums it up nicely, with a good example of the inverted pyramid: Any notion that Tuesday's election represented a liberal juggernaut must overcome a detail from the voting booths of California: The same voters who turned out strongest for Barack Obama also drove a stake through the heart of same-sex marriage. Did you catch that? Let's repeat it. "The same voters who turned out strongest for Barack Obama also drove a stake through the heart of same-sex marriage." Those "same voters" are none other than Blacks and Latinos, reliable lock-step Democrat voters on most issues. Not, however, on the issue of men marrying men or women marrying women. Meanwhile, we continue to see headlines such as "Citizens Rally Against Proposition 8." QUESTION: Why are we not seeing headlines that say, "Citizens Overwhelmingly Voted For Proposition 8?" ANSWER: The Leftists and their useful idiots are the ones writing the headlines in the news rooms.

Daley Not So Proud of Pride School

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley seems less than keen on the idea of a "gay high school." Daley is a Democrat. Can you imagine the outrage, the spittle-chinned protesters, the hate mail and vitriolic speeches aimed at him if he was Republican? Two items about the still undecided fate of the "pride campus" come to us this week from the Chicago Journal's Booster newspaper. (By the way, when can we expect a proposal for the city's first all-hetero high school? Perhaps the City Clowncil and the Chicago Pubic Schools can consider schools that are exclusively for students who have sweaty palms, are height challenged, the especially stupid, the morbidly obese, homely red headed step children, and so on. Seriously, don't those kids also deserve their own "pride campus," a refuge from all the mean kids who are not just like them?) Mayor Daley against Pride Campus CHICAGO JOURNAL/BOOSTER Mayor Daley today expressed misgivings about a proposal before the Chicago Board of Education that would establish the city's first high school for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students and their allies.... Pride Campus vote postponed CHICAGO JOURNAL/BOOSTER Advocates of the proposed Pride Campus will have to wait another month to hear whether the school is approved. Jaime Guzman, a spokesperson for Chicago Public Schools, says the proposal for the controversial school for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered students and their allies hasn't run into trouble but is instead caught in a backup of school proposals for the Chicago Board of Education....

Gonna Hang Ourselves a Christian!

This is just wrong, if it's true. If the only reason that this woman was turned away from the shelter was because she is a lesbian, well, the shelter is wrong. While the facts are being sorted out, and make no mistake, it's literally "he said, she said," it is interesting to watch so many people just assume that the Christian pastor is and his organization discriminated. If they did, then shame on them. If they did not, then shame on everyone for assuming guilt before guilt is proven. The ACLU has filed city and state discrimination complaints on for Wang and will file a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court as well. In other words, this is still being investigated. But a lot of people are already tying hangman's knots, gittin' ready for public hangin'. Hey! Gonna hang ourselves a Christian!!! Alex Blaze at the Bilerico web site wrote: Michelle Wang, a Chicago lesbian originally from Indianapolis, says that she was turned away from a homeless shelter because of her sexuality. This comes on the heels of the Task Force study that found that 20-40% of homeless youth are LGBT and the NY Times story on discrimination against queer youth in homeless shelters and indication that homeless advocacy groups won't ask for federal funding for diversity training or LGBT-focused programs because they fear that the Religious Right will retaliate by taking away funding from homeless shelters. Again, if she was discriminated against, that is wrong. But it's equally wrong to assume that Ogle or his organization are guilty of that. The legal investigation is only beginning. Hey, folks, remember the Duke lacrosse "rape" case? Slow down, okay? Alex Blaze finished with this: "So is this Falwell's legacy?" Blaze is obviously not aware that Reverend Bud Ogle, "a Presbyterian pastor who co-founded the Christian ministry that runs the New Life shelter in the North Howard Street area," is a member of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the same group that defend the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), a group of men who are devoted to sex with underaged boys. Rev. Bud Ogle, a Presbyterian pastor who co-founded the Christian ministry that runs the New Life shelter in the North Howard Street area, was apologetic for Wang's troubles but said he believes an inadvertent clerical error was at fault and not any intentional discrimination. Ogle, who described himself as a lifelong ACLU member, said the shelter's program manager had committed the last two beds to a family but failed to note that in a bed-count record.
