Blog is a Four-Letter Word

WARNING: There is a bit of raw language in this piece. There are some small brained, fat-assed morons in the 49th Ward who don't like bloggers. This is nothing new, of course. There were small brained, fat-assed morons in the 16th Century who did not like writers, and bloggers - after all - are writers. But let's come back to the 21st Century, and the small brained, fat-assed morons in the 49th Ward. I have been called a "hate blogger," and local blogging colleague Toni Duncan (24/7 North of Howard Watchers) has been called that, too. Countless bloggers across the nation have been called "hate bloggers" as well. To call somebody a "hate blogger" is akin to branding somebody a "nazi" willy-nilly. It's usually a gross exageration, often completely untrue. It is telling that those who use the term most often are corrupt politicians and the small brained, fat-assed morons who lick their boots. You see, some writers write for newspapers, some for magazines, some for television and some - gasp! - for web sites. For some reason, small brained, fat-assed morons think "blog" is a dirty word. It is a funny word, after all, much funnier than "paper" or "periodical." Dear oh dear, what would the small brained, fat-assed morons call us if we put our words on paper for the world to read? "Hate publishers?" "Hate printers?" But I near digression. 49th Ward Alderman Joe Moore is a small brained, fat-assed politician who cannot take the heat of criticism. One of Moore's favorite tactics for dealing with criticism is to attack those criticizing him as being "haters." This is a common tactic for Democrats (some Republicans, too), and Moore is nominally a Democrat. In the 17 years that Joe Moore has been an alderman, has he ever once publicly complained about the "hate bloggers" who have attacked conservative politicians so viciously that it makes whatever anybody has said about Moore seem bland? (No.) Did Moore object to or speak out against bloggers who were viciously attacking his opponents in last year's aldermanic elections? (No.) Did Moore object to his own campaign workers viciously slandering his political opponets last year? (Again, no.) Moore shows incredible hypocrisy when he calls web writers "hate bloggers" for criticizing his policies and words. He himself is guilty of hateful actions, words and thoughts. To be fair, there are Republicans who use this cheap trick too, but it is more favored by so-called Liberal politicians. When you have no substantive response to a substantive criticism, deflect and confuse the listeners by calling the critics racists, haters, bigots, or anything else to change to topic of discussion. Fend and obfuscate, throw your critics off base, facts and issues be damned. Moore loves to do this. So do the small brained, fat-assed morons who work for him. The irony in Moore and his gang calling some of his critics "hate bloggers" is that the act of calling them that is itself hateful. Instead of slandering his critics with cheap and tired cliches, Alderman Moore should write thoughtful letters to the writers who blog about him. He is not in the habit of doing this. Joe Moore is a cowardly, gutless lump of protoplasm that deserves every bit as much respect as he shows the writers who writes about him, regardless of which medium those writers choose to present their criticism. But here's the deal for Alderman Moore. By God, if you are going to brand me a "hate blogger," sir, I intend to start living up to the title. You ain't seen nothin' yet, you bastard shit.
