Iowa: Nine Percent of Two Percent
The recent "big wins" by Obama and Huckabee in Iowa are really no big deal, except as far as the pro-Obama media makes it. (What the heck are you saying, Tom?!?!)
Consider this:
Iowa is only one of 50 states, therefore it is only 1/50th of the nation in one regard. In terms of the 50-state thing, Iowa is 2% of all of the states.
In another regard, however, it is far less than that since its population is relatively sparse compared to Illinois, New York and other big states.
Now consider this:
Approximately nine percent of eligible Iowans participated in the recent caucuses that everyone is making a big deal out of. So, nine percent of 1/50th of the nation gave Obama and Huckabee their "big wins." Wow. In the grand scheme of things Iowa is tiny. Obama and Huckabee each won some very tiny trophies. Sadly, however, the media and the general population make more of it than should be made.
