JAZZ LEGEND JULIAN PRIESTER will play at ENNUI CAFE in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood THIS SUNDAY, JULY 15 at 7:00 PM. Ennui Cafe is located at 6981 N. Sheridan Road (at Lunt); phone 773-973-2233.
Soon-to-be-legend JIMMY BENNINGTON, good friend and Rogers Park resident, will work his percussive magic with Priester, who will perform on his trombone. This is special, because it's just the two of them - just as it is on Jimmy's new CD release, Portraits and Silhouettes.
Priester and Bennington performed to a wowed crowd on July 5 and 6 at the famous Velvet Lounge. Unfortunately, an otherwise good review in the Chicago Tribune failed to mention Bennington's long-awaited album with Priester.
Bennington is one of the people who has recently given an interview for the Rogers Park Video Oral History Project.
Personal note: I did the album graphics for the CD shown here.
