Jimmy Bennington's Colour and Sound will perform an early set at 6:00 p.m. tonight (Sunday, June 10). Get over to Ennui, grab a cuppa and listen to this beat master. Center Stage Chicago says: Bennington is currently the drum instructor at Flattes and Sharpe Music Co. (on N. Sheridan Road in Rogers Park), and is also a freelance writer who has written for Modern Drummer Magazine, Chicago Jazz Magazine, Jazz Profile, and Cadence Jazz and Blues Journal. From Bennington's web site at OA2 Records: Based in Chicago after an eight year residence on the West Coast, Bennington performs at a number of venues around the U.S., South America, Canada, and Europe as a sideman or as a leader with his group Colour and Sound. Jimmy has played and recorded with many great artists including legendary clarinetist Perry Robinson, saxophonists John Gross, Bert Wilson, and Phillip Greenlief, trombonists Julian Priester, Andre Hayward, Dave Dove, and Michael Vlatkovich, trumpeters Ralph Gill and Jim Knodle, pianists David Haney, Craig Hoyer, and Gordon Lee, guitarists John Stowell, Tom McNalley, and Bill Horist, bassists Michael Bisio, Joscha Oetz, and Jeff Johnson, as well as saxophonist Graham Ord and bassist Paul Blaney of the NOW Orchestra.
