Prediction: Don Gordon Will Win Big

"Word on the street - from people in positions to know - has it that a newer polling shows Don Gordon is now leading Moore in the polls."

Rogers Park Bench is going out on a limb and predicting that aldermanic candidate Don Gordon will defeat incumbent Joe Moore in the April 17 run-off election. (Click map for detailed prediction.)

It may turn out that I am spectacularly wrong. But based on what I am hearing, it would seem that Gordon will not only win, but will win big.

You may recall a poll that came out recently. It showed Joe Moore favored by 47% and Gordon favored by 42% of respondents.

Although I still fear that voter turnout will be less than it was on Feb. 27, there is good news for Gordonites and bad news for Moore-ons. From the Chicago Sun-Times, we learn that voter registration has actually jumped since the first election:

"More voters have signed up in all 12 wards hosting aldermanic runoff contests -- with the largest increases on the North Side. In the 49th Ward, where Ald. Joe Moore is vying against challenger Don Gordon, voter registrations rose 2.8 percent since the Feb. 27 election, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners." FULL STORY...

But here's the kicker. Word on the street has it that a newer poll shows Don Gordon is now leading Moore in the polls. Remember a couple of days ago I told you that the Moore camp was verrrry worried? They're still worried.

They are more worried than ever.
