|Mrs. Illinois 2012, Jennifer Cruz|
August 3, 2012 - Mrs. Illinois 2012, Jennifer J. Cruz, showed her strong support for Chick-fil-A today with her husband, Pastor Daniel Cruz.
The couple had lunch at the chain's Loyola Water Tower store today to lend their voices to those who support freedom of speech. They also had lunch at this Chick-fil-A on Wednesday, which was dubbed "Support Chick-fil-A Day."Asked what they love about Chick-fil-A, Mrs. Cruz said, "We love their food and we love what we believe in."
"I think it's important," said her husband Pastor Cruz, "to not just support businesses that hold to family values, but also to let our mayor [Rahm Emanuel] know, as well as Alderman Joe Moreno [1st Ward] that they do not speak for the rest of Chicago." Pastor Cruz was referring to Mayor Emanuel's recent comment that Chick-fil-A's values are not representative of those held by the people of Chicago.
