Shovel Ready Job? Bring Your Own Chopsticks

The phrase "shovel ready" became a cynical joke a while ago. It refers, of course, to Obama's false promises of creating jobs that would help rebuild America's infrastructure. In fact, as CBS News noted, Obama admitted to the  New York Times that he lied when he said in an interview that "there's no such thing as shovel-ready projects."

Just to add insult to injury, the Liar In Chief actually joked about it at a meeting of the Council on Jobs and Competitiveness on June 13, 2011 (see a video of his smirking comment here).

The admission of misleading us is bad enough. It turns out that a lot of the stimulus money intended for infrastructure projects - repairing roads, bridges and such - is not even going to U.S. companies that employ Americans. Instead, the Obama Regime has been more interested in giving it  to Chinese-owned construction firms.

A number of cities have hired Chinese firms for a number of infrastructure projects, and most or all of the money comes from the federal government. To its credit, ABC News ran a good report (video above) in September, 2011 about the stimulus money going to Chinese firms. (Sometimes the mainstream media actually does its job.)
