Chicago - September 18, 2010 - A man was shot in the head at approximately 3:55 a.m. today in the middle of the 4600 block of N. Kenmore Avenue in Uptown, between W. Leland and W. Wilson. At least seven shots were fired, according to several 911 calls.
Also See: The Bloody Gutter of N. Kenmore Avenue When police and paramedics arrived they found a victim slumped in the middle of the street, bleeding very heavily from his head. Still alive, he was moving one of his hands. The victim appeared to be a Black male. Paramedics wrapped his head in bandages and loaded him into an ambulance.
Residents who heard the shots all said that they heard no other sounds just before of after the shooting; no voices, no footsteps, no car speeding away.
As of 4:58 a.m., the victim's identity and medical condition are unknown; no suspects have been arrested. The 4600 block of N. Kenmore is in Beat 2312.
