Helen Thomas, Kinda Like Hitler a Little Bit

Helen Thomas has been part of the White House Press Corps since, I think, Andrew Jackson was president. She's always been cranky, but in recent years she's become downright mean. Lately, she's just letting her hatred and bitterness all hang out. Big thanks to buddy Irony Curtain for sharing this cartoon with us. IC's great stuff is usually posted on iOwnTheWorld's great site, but they blew their chance on this gem, so we snapped it up. Be sure to watch the video below, too. Last week, the Thomas suggested that all of the Jews in Israel go back to Poland and Germany, amongst other places, apparently oblivious to the fact that Poland and Germany killed millions of Jews less that a lifetime ago. Oh yes, and the fact that Jews lived in Israel for centuries before "Palestinians" came from Philistine. In fact, "Palestinians" invaded Israel well after Jews had established themselves there, so if anybody is the invader, it's the Palestinians: Palestine was not the name used in Biblical times. In the Old Testament, the area is the Land of Canaan, later to become Eretz Yisrael, the Land of Israel.... The Philistines were not Arabs nor even Semites, they were most closely related to the Greeks originating from Asia Minor and Greek localities. They did not speak Arabic. They had no connection, ethnic, linguistic or historical with Arabia or Arabs. The Philistines reached the southern coast of Israel in several waves. One group arrived in the pre-patriarchal period and settled south of Beersheba in Gerar where they came into conflict with Abraham, Isaac and Ishmael. (Source: Palestine Facts) Indeed, the "Palestinians" were late to the party, so to speak: The archeological record indicates that the Jewish people evolved out of native Cana'anite peoples and invading tribes. Some time between about 1800 and 1500 B.C., it is thought that a Semitic people called Hebrews (hapiru) left Mesopotamia and settled in Canaan. Canaan was settled by different tribes including Semitic peoples, Hittites, and later Philistines, peoples of the sea who are thought to have arrived from Mycenae, or to be part of the ancient Greek peoples that also settled Mycenae.
