Heads up, Chicago. A large contingent of socialists and communists will march from Federal Plaza in the Loop up to and along Michigan Avenue on Thursday, March 18.

The march is the work of Chicago Mass Action.
If you doubt that the March 18 march will be a gathering of socialists, communists and freaks, see this video of their march two years ago.
The CMA web site is critical of Barack Obama because his administration "has introduced a budget that includes the largest amount for 'defense' spending ever -- while freezing domestic spending for human needs. There is no health care bill, no action on climate change. All Washington can agree on is to feed our tax money to big banks and an endless war."
What a difference 14 months makes. Two years ago, the same group could be counted on holding signs depicting Bush and Cheney as Nazis. Will the marchers next Thursday have signs that portray Obama the same way?
Details for the march, from the CNA web site:
March 18: 5:30 PM, short rally at Federal Plaza (corner of Adams & Dearborn Streets), followed by permitted march on Michigan Avenue. And join us in mobilizing for a united march on Washington, DC on Saturday, March 20th. Buses available from Chicago.
The next organizing meeting for this action begins at 3 PM, Sunday, March 14 at Cary’s Lounge, 2251 W Devon (wheelchair accessible). It is expected to be a quick meeting - as an opportunity to go over last minute details.
The "co-sponsoring groups" of the march reads like a who's who of anti-American, anti-capitalism, anti-Israel groups. The long list includes:
