Midsommarfest Fun Continues on Sunday
Saturday morning did not looking like a promising day for a street fair, but by 11:00 a.m. the skies were pouring sunshine on the north Chicago neighborhood of Andersonville, just in time for the six-block long "44th Annual Midsommarfest" event. That's Swedish for "mid-summer fest." Why the organizers decided to name this late-Spring event in a seasonally incorrect way is a mystery. Even so, this is one of Chicago's best neighborhood street fests, with great music on several stages, great food up and down the length of the festival, balloons, adult beverages, and dogs. Lots of dogs, including an allegedly rigged dog contest. Here's a little slideshow (below) of my walk-through of Midsommarfest. Looking for something fun to do this weekend in Chicago? Midsommarfest continues today (Sunday, June 14), from 12:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. For more info, including the entertainment lineup, click here.
