Updated - Chicago Police Respond Quickly to "Shots Fired"

21 May 2009 - Chicago - Police responded quickly to reports of "one shot fired" at 800 W. Sunnsyside in Uptown, a neighborhood that has more than its fair share of shootings. The first police dispatch call went out at 11:22 p.m., and within a minute officers were screaming toward Sunnyside and Hazel. By 11:26 p.m., several squad cars were on the scene and looking around, as well as talking to nearby residents. At 11:31 p.m. an officer radioed that neither they nor the residents they spoke to saw anything. Although Uptown has fewer cases of "shots fired" than many Chicago neighborhoods, it has more than its fair share. On Wednesday, May 20, for example, there were mulitple gun shots heard and reported. At least one resident's windows were shot out; that resident had nothing to do with the shootings. RELATED: Shots Fired, Uptown Pizza...
