Condo Fire: Sterno and Fire Logs
It takes all kinds of fools to endanger the rest of us. Last night The Bench ran down to photograph a condo fire at 4343 N. Clarendon to one unit. That's the good part.
The bad part is that the fire was started by an act of incredible stupidity. Clarendon in Chicago. Nobody was badly hurt and the fire was confined. Lorraine Swanson covered it in News-Star, (where you can see two more of my photos).
Chicago firefighters evacuated a 30-story condominium building in Uptown Sunday night when fire broke out on the 13th floor of 4343 N. Clarendon.
Chicago Fire Department Deputy Chief Bruce Gebian told News-Star that the fire was contained to one unit and started when the man who lives in that unit was lighting fire logs with Sterno and some spilled on the floor. FULL STORY at News-Star...
