Obama's Meaningless Praise for Tim Russert
Obama's soon-to-be-disowned list
Barack Obama had words to say about recently deceased NBC Washington bureau chief and "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert. Russert suddenly died of a heart attack on Friday, June 13. Here is the horrible thing that Obama said about Russert:
"He's somebody who, over time, I came to consider not only a journalist but a friend," Obama said. "There wasn't a better interviewer on television, not a more thoughtful analysts of our politics." He was "one of the finest men I knew," said Obama. FULL STORY...
You say it sounds like a nice thing to say? Consider what Obama has said, for example, about Reverend Jeremiah Wright:
What I value most about Pastor Wright is not his day-to-day political advice. He's much more of a sounding board for me to make sure that I am speaking as truthfully about what I believe as possible and that I'm not losing myself in some of the hype and hoopla and stress that's involved in national politics.
As we all know now, Obama disowned Wright:
I’ve known Reverend Wright for almost twenty years. The person I saw yesterday was not the person that I met twenty years ago. His comments were not only divisive and destructive, but I believe that they end up giving comfort to those who prey on hate and I believe that they do not portray accurately the perspective of the black church. They certainly don’t portray accurately my values and beliefs and if Reverend Wright thinks that's political posturing, as he put it, then he doesn't know me very well and based on his remarks yesterday, well I may not know him as well as I thought either. ~ Barack Obama at a press conference after Reverend Jeremiah Wright's speech at a Press Club event on April 29, 2008.
Soon after that, Lunatic Priest Michael Pfleger mocked Hillary Clinton at Trinity United Church of Christ, where Wright ministered for decades and Obama attended for more than 20 years. The day after the shameful Pfleger performance, Obama disowned the church.
So, for Obama to praise anybody is meaningless at best. At worst, it is risky business for the person being praised. It could mean that you're on Obama's soon-to-be-disowned list.
