Hillary RODHAM Clinton To Bow Out
Hmmmph. I'll let everybody else cover this. But I would like to rehash something that still amuses me. I was reminded of it the other night when I heard Barack Obama congratulate "Hillary Rodham Clinton" for putting up such a good fight.
"Rodham?" Why, some of my readers called me an idiot for calling her "Hillary Rodham Clinton," but here's the Messiah Barack Obama doing the same thing! Golly!
In a Google web search, you'll find about 74,140 hits for "Hillary Rodham Clinton." That number is sure to grow, but that's as of 7:42 p.m. on June 5, 2008. Do a Google news search and you will about 75,100 hits for it. And, holy cow! - a Google blog search produced nearly 1,260,000 hits.
Here are a few of the funnier comments that I got from imbeciles who wrote in:

Umm... since when is Hillary Clinton's middle name Rodham? Nothing less that quality journalism around here.

Maybe instead of trashing Dave you could have taken his advice and researched what a middle name really is. A second given name, so her middle name is Diane and her maiden name is Rodham actually a surname, not a given name. I'm sick of you calling everybody idiots when you don't even know what you are talking about.Anyway, you'll come back with some bullshit about how a surname can be used as a middle name, so before we have to hear anymore crap from you, yeah in the case that's its a given name after the first name and not the surname of the parents on the birth certificate, so shut your trap because a given name and a surname are two different things. And just keep your mouth shut about your interpretation of a middle name because you are WRONG about everything anyway.

Tom, you would crack me up if your ignorance weren't so depressing. You're right -- I guess they'll let ANYONE vote!Lots of women chose to keep their maiden name after marriage and continue to use it professionally and personally. Women choose to do this for lots of reasons. In refusing to acknowledge that Rodham is a last name and not a middle name, are you just trying to deny feminism?Regardless of your feelings on the matter, "Rodham" is clearly not being used as a middle name by Mrs. Clinton or her campaign. Do you see John Sidney McCain, Mike Dale Huckabee, or Ron Earnest Paul plastered on any of those candidates' websites? Um, no. Because people don't use their middle names like that, whether or not their middle name is Hussein.
