Did Thomas Sowell Crib My Post?

Author and intellectual Thomas Sowell is a hero of mine. His Vision of the Anointed is one of the most brilliant books of political and philosophical insight ever written. Sowell is a genius. And that's why I'm so flattered that Thomas Sowell apparently reads The Bench. And, possibly, methinks, was influenced by one of my recent posts. On January 21, I wrote this on The Bench: Too many voters are sheepishly responding to the call for "Change!" Before you vote for somebody because they claim they want change, ask yourself - and them - what kind of change they will bring. On January 22, Sowell's column "Dangerous Demagoguery" appeared. It said, in part: Many people find it thrilling that the mantra of “change” is ringing out across the land during this election year. But let’s do what the politicians hope that we will never do — stop and think. Wow. But that's not all. I also gave a list of dictators who brought "change" to their constituents. The list included Mao, Hitler, Mussolini. The next day, Sowell wrote: Yet we seem to be no more aware of the need to be on guard against demagoguery today, in the 21st century, than those people who looked up with open-mouthed adulation at Adolf Hitler in the 1930s and at numerous other demagogues, large and small, around the world throughout the turbulent 20th century. Coincidence? Or is this just a case of great minds thinking alike? I hope it's simply the latter.
