Snoodles: No Duck, No Cover

Tis I, Snoodles. Item! Last Friday night, actually about 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, there were four gunshots fired at the intersection of N. Sheridan and W. Morse, near Leona's restaurant. It was very cold out, and across the street a bit at Morseland the place was closing. Nobody was outside except two employees. Snoodles knows 'em both. One blabbed to Snoodles last night. One of them laughed when I asked about customers who "ducked and covered" when they heard gunshots. "What customers?" he chuckled, "there was nobody but me and the door guy, everybody was gone, there were no customers out there." What happened? Snoodles asked. "We were crossing the alley next to Morseland, then boom boom boom boom! Four gunshots. There were four guys walking across the street, east of Sheridan, coming from the park, you know. Some guy walks up to them, and bang! He shoots one of them. The others guys? Not hit, and they walked slowly and calmly west on Morse like nothing happened. Weird. The cops came within seconds, man. Ambulance took the shot guy to the hospital, critical shape." "So, no customers ducking and covering?" I persisted. "Ha, nobody," he said, "just me and the doorman." Snoodles is gonna get a scanner. Then I won't have to go out and actually talk to witnesses about stuff.
