Nanny State Threatens Freedoms
Canadian writer Arthur Weinreb points out the dangers of letting the government become too powerful.
As one of only three countries in the world where it is illegal to pay for most medical services (Cuba and North Korea being the other two), it is easy to justify more and more laws regarding health. Using the rationalization of keeping the costs of tax and spend governments down, governments feel justified in passing more and more legislation that takes away what little freedom Canadians have left.
