Wimpy 2007 Hurricane Season
Ah, the foresayers of Doom. Today there is a hurricane in the Caribbean. "Oh my God!" some of you might be saying, your hands a-wringing. But it is, after all, hurricane season, and the first one of the season (we're half way through it!) is Hurricane Dean. Let's repeat that: The first one of the season; the season runs from June 1 and ends November 30. Well, we finally have one. B.F.D.
We've all seen lunatics (photo, right) standing on street corners from time to time, wearing a big sandwich board proclaiming, "The End Is Near!" They've been wrong for thousands of years, those negative naybobs, and having a degree in climatology (ha!) is no vaccine against lunacy. To wit:
