7:25 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2007 - A large piece of heavy equipment lumbered down the alleyway just east of the old Cobbler's Mall, now under transformation at N. Wayne and W. Morse in Rogers Park, Chicago. Over the next ten months, The Morse Theatre will rise from the rubble and empty husk.
By 5:00 p.m., the machine had done most of its work, removing a large part of the roof and the beginnings of what will be a basement. The big boys have the big toys!
