Victim of ComEd's "Act of God" Writes In

David, a resident at 6960 N. Sheridan Road, lost his computer and other electronics on Sunday afternoon. He wrote the following to RPB in response to yesterday's story "ComEd Evasive About Rogers Park Fire": Thanks Tom, This is something that really needs to be heard. For too long mega corporations have been getting away with stepping on the little guy. Just because Com Ed is our only option for electricity does not give them the right to deny us it's paying customers, proper compensation for damage caused by their faulty equipment. I am informed that Com Ed may try and claim that it was an act of God and therefore they are not liable. Further I have had great difficulty in obtaining the technical report that the Com Ed repair technician must have made after fixing the broken ground wire. I urge any persons who have damage claims resulting from this incident (no matter how small) to contact me. We stand a far greater chance of obtaining proper compensation as a group than we do as individuals. Sincerely, David dlanier.enteract@rcn.com
