Rogers Park Video Project Picking Up
The Rogers Park Video Oral History Project is gaining momentum. More and more people are signing up to be interviewed for posterity. Some have expressed political opinions, others have not.
For example, Matthew of Pilates Chicago just gave a great interview yesterday. What an interesting guy! Native of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Matthew came to Chicago to attend college. His wife Jennifer got turned him onto pilates and, well, the rest is history. Literally history now, since his interview is part of the project.
Another great interview was on June 3 with busy jazz drummer Jimmy Bennington. Wow. Some great drumming by Jimmy accents this interview, and Jimmy's story of moving - and performing - around the country is fascinating.
The project is being recorded in high definition video. People who live or work in Rogers Park are invited to participate, and can sign up simply by dropping a note to freerogerspark@yahoo.com. More to come. Excerpted clips from the interviews will be posted in the near future at Free Rogers Park Video Project.
