Moore's Chief of Staff Resigns
49th Ward Alderman Joe Moore's chief of staff Kevin Cosgrove has resigned.
RPB has chided Mr. Cosgrove in the past. He was, after all, one of the Dark Prince's minions. However, RPB wishes Mr. Cosgrove well in his post-Moore life. From all accounts, Mr. Cosgrove is known as a decent fellow, who was not truly within the inner Dante-esque circles of Moore's Inferno. Good luck, Mr. Cosgrove, and if you know anything that might be useful to a federal prosecutor, now would be a good time to step forward. Redemption is good for the soul.

Anne Sullivan was appointed to take his place.
ReplyDeleteKevin always struck me as a decent guy who tried to make the best of a difficult position. He often made the difference in getting Joe's office to act on problem situations and improve those situations. I wish him well.
ReplyDeleteKevin’s been a decent fellow, especially for someone spending time around Moore on a regular basis. That kind of rot usually rubs off over the long haul. Kevin was the only one in that entire pack of jackals with any morality at all far as I could see. He seemed to be trying to get some positive change going, but it looked like Joe put him in a trick bag most of the time – Kevin was the front man out trying to improve a building, showing the flag on the street, while Joe protected the slumlords in the shadows. Kevin just didn’t see or didn’t want to see what a slime ball his boss was, and how the fix was in, often as not. Looks like Kevin’s been cut out of the inside circle for a long time – not the type to knife people in the back and then lie about it for Joe. Sure didn’t see Joe standing out front of crack houses at 2:00am calling the police, but I saw Kevin doing exactly that on more than one occasion. Not surprising Joe gave him the boot. Having someone around with a hint of a conscience would just plain get in the way in Joe's operation. Best to you Kevin. With the Sullivan and Ginderske types grunting around it wasn’t going to get better down at the cesspool. It's been a dark few months.
