Moore Desperation Spawns New Blog
Looks like Alex Armour - or someone else on Joe Moore's campaign - has been very busy. Busy busy busy. Worried worried worried. They have created a new blog entitled, "Rogers Park Daily," and it is so obviously a Moore-linked propaganda site as to be laughable.
The first posting was March 28. The third and most recent posting on this new blog was March 30. It is titled, "The Truth About Moore." It is a pack of lies and half truths.
"Claiming that Alderman Moore is propping up business at the expense of poor people in the 49th is a cheap play on an emotive issue and it is simply not true."
Hey, they got that backwards! Joe Moore is propping up poor people at the expense of local business. But look, I'm just reporting. You decide.

ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know that Ald. Moore's staff member doesn't do all the work on 'bad buildings'? There's no mention of community members who complain until something is done - depending on who the owner is, of course. The statement doesn't state the fact that Jay Johnson was ordered to attend CAPS meetings but never did to anyone's recollection.
Nor does this blabber mention how many condo conversions were not up to code but were somehow allowed to sell...but the housing staff person calls angry buyers liars when the city comes to collect on someone else's mistakes, blunders and lies. What BS.
Yes, this person sounds very similar to "the truth squad" also. They cite a handful of bloggers, ignoring the large readership. More and more people are reading the blogs these days, which is probably why they are creating these propa-blogs.
ReplyDeleteAnd since they can't really address the issues, they instead try to discredit the bloggers. Dissing community activists seems a dumb strategy to me.
Jocelyn - it's rumor-mongering so they can print it out and distribute to those without internet access. They hope to control people from getting the big picture. Another method of maintaining the status quo with lies to target those who try to make the neighborhood a better place. They also might add that many activists are volunteers! No checks in the mail for cleaning up a hood and enabling people to know the TRUTH about the real image of the 'status quo' maintainers. And they always come full circle with the race card. Many of my non-white friends and neighbors are very aware of the scam. They get the big picture and they're voting for Gordon.
