Goosing Joe Moore

From the website of DevCorp North comes this tidbit today (pardon the pun) about a proposed new gourmet food and wine shop. Too bad for owners Eric Aubriot and Jamie Evans that they can't legally sell foie gras, thanks to Alderman Joe Moore, who wrote the anti-foie gras ordinance - and whose office is right across the street from the proposed location of their shop. You see, Eric Aubriot (photo) is quite well known for his various artistic presentations of foie gras and widely recognized in his industry. He has opened three north side restaurants: Aubriot and Tournesol and, most recently, Fuse in Hotel 71. Fuse serves - or served - foie gras. For example, in a "Hotel News Resource" review of Fuse in 2004, it was noted that appetizers included "Seared Foie Gras with Bittersweet Chocolate Sauce – Aubriot’s signature dish." Aubriot will be right across the street from the world famous clown and battler of foie gras, Alderman Joe Moore. Foie gras with chocolate sauce is rich, but the irony in all of this is richer still. --> Learn about a proposal for a gourmet food and wine shop in Jarvis Square.Aubriot's business partner in the venture, Jamie Evans, is co-owner of the Celtic Knot Public House, a traditional Irish Pub and European restaurant located in Evanston. 1. I'm always stunned at people reaction to Joe's ban.
I a world of cruel deeds I guess no body gives a hoot about what a ducks life is like. Of course I've never had the dish, how many of you have? It seems like a real cheap almost republican style attack. It's silly unless you love duck liver, why do you care? Oh yeah thats right, your duck liver today tomorrow it's my gun. I'll leave it at that you need to get back to being the voice of right wing selfishness.

  2. I wonder if Roxy is just a contrarian and if all the bloggers were "pro-Joe", Roxy would be anti-Joe. For some reason it feels that way. Some people live to go against the grain.

In any case Roxy is going around commenting all over. Roxy- One good meeting with JM during an election period does not a good example make!

  3. Tom -- instead of responding to the comments, you've decided to make unrelated attacks on the user's profile. That's the CG way of doing things and is beneath you.

But then you seem to have spent so much time getting into the increasingly deranged mind of your adversary that you're slipping along with him. It's all knee-jerk, unrelated attacks on anything about global warming and anything "progressive" or "liberal." You had (and still have) a chance to be a conservative writer who doesn't just attempt to rip up "liberal" viewpoints with unrelated attacks filled with logical fallacies.

Now, just so you don't think that I'm all against you -- I present you with this gift. A log of Craig's activities last year on Wikipedia. Watch as he attempts to vandalize articles on Rogers Park and Joe Moore. Gaze in wonder as he places advertisement after advertisement for Gay Chicago on a site that does not allow advertising. Roll your eyes in disbelief as you wonder just what the hell is going through his head. Note with interest some of the dates of his activity. Here you go.

P.S. -- Roxy's profile lists a book (Blind Man's Bluff) that was written by (Susan) Sontag and (Christopher) Drew. You'll see that Chomsky is a separate item on the list of preferred reading.
