Big Money and Circuses in Battleground Wisconsin

Posted by T. Mannis Sunday, July 31, 2011

July 31, 2011 - Madison, WI - There is tainted cheese in Wisconsin. Let's call it 'blue cheese' for the blue Leftists who are spreading its stink around the America's Dairyland in the days leading up to Republican recall elections in August. Democrats and the Left are concentrating hard on Wisconsin because it is seen as a test for Obama's own performance in 2012Of course, conservatives are also pouring money into the recall process.

There are, of course, the traveling political circuses. The Leftist "Truth Tour" promises to spread lies about Republicans. Meanwhile, the buses will roll through Wisconsin as the "Tea Party Express" visits the districts of threatened conservative Republicans.

Below, a TV ad by The Campaign To Defeat Obama highlights the schmear of blue cheese from the Left:

This report from Fox News highlights the huge money being dumped into the Dairy State:

Straight Talk About Your High Cell Phone Bills!

Posted by T. Mannis Thursday, July 28, 2011

This post brought to you by Straight Talk. All opinions are 100% mine.

Are your big cell phone bills stressing you out? Tired of being locked into a long contract? Well, then, it’s time to consider a different service. I mean, why would you stay with your current service, at their high prices, when you could save big by switching to Straight Talk.  I don’t know about you, but saving money seems like a good thing to me. You could cut your phone bill in half and feel richer. Cha ching!

Why would you willingly lock yourself into contract for phone service when you can get everything you need without one? Why are you knowingly paying more for that service than you need to? Especially in these rough economic times, it makes more sense than ever to take the easy step to a less expensive, no-contract alternative: Straight Talk.

Straight Talk has no contracts and no surprise bills. They don’t even do credit checks. Straight Talk has excellent nationwide coverage and great reception and connectivity. In addition, Straight Talk has a great selection of phones made by trusted manufacturers such as LG, Motorola, Kyocera, Nokia and Samsung. In other words, with Straight Talk you don’t give up quality. You only give up the high bills and the restrictive contracts that currently nag you.

Straight Talk offers some nice plans, designed for your needs and lifestyle. Their “All You Need Plan” is great for heavy phone users, providing 1,000 minutes, 1,000 texts and 30 MB of web data.

Straight Talk’s “Unlimited Monthly” service is only $45.00 and includes calls, text, picture messaging, and web.  411 calls are included at no extra charge, and there are no fees for activation, reactivation, or termination of service.

Do you have friends, family or business overseas? With Straight Talk’s “International Long Distance,” you get a flexible prepaid calling service that lets you to make international calls from your home, cell or office phone at great low rates. For as little as $5.00 you can buy international long distance service that works on any phone.

You can purchase new high quality phones through Straight Talk, but for even more savings they also offer reconditioned phones from only $10.00 with camera, mp3 player, mobile web access, and blue-tooth capability. Great for young users or anybody who wants a feature packed phone at a super low price.

Of course, Straight Talk also offers smart phones, touch screen phones, and app capable phones. These have features such as voice navigation, camera, video recorder, music player, instant messaging, and Bluetooth®.   One of my faves: The Nokia e71 Galaxy, which features voice guided navigation, cool apps and more with the $45.00 Unlimited Monthly plan (check out this cool video about that).

A final note: I like the Straight Talk website. It’s very easy to navigate and it lets you check your account balance and activity, “refill” you account, transfer your phone number, and much more including great online help. Oh, and Straight Talk's coverage map is pretty impressive, too.

Iranian General: 'Israel Must Be Wiped Off The Map'

Posted by T. Mannis Monday, July 25, 2011

July 25, 2011 - The genocidal tendencies of Iran are not limited to nutjob President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. One of its top military men, Basij Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naghdi, is saying that Israel must be destroyed.

It's almost cliche, but still frightening, to hear this kind of hate speech from the radical Iranian regime. Oh, and he's written a poem.

Here is an excerpt from a post today by Reza Kahlili:

In reaction to the recent assassination of Iranian scientist Dariush Rezaiinejad, chief commander of the Basij Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naghdi stated:

"The main plot for this criminal act was conceived by the American government, and since it is scared of the reaction by the Muslim world due to the uprisings in the region, it had the Zionist regime commit the heinous act....In order to protect the security of our country, we have no option but to have the Zionist regime wiped off the map."
Original source: Pars Daily News...

Naghdi's post appeared late this morning on Pajamas Media and is being widely quoted in the blogosphere. The mainstream media, as of 5:13 PM Chicago time, has nothing about this story.

General Naghdi is not merely a proponent destroying Israel. He also fancies himself to be something of a poet, it seems. He wrote a poem called “The Youth and Soft War,” about the "soft war" being waged by the U.S. against Iran. This "soft war," he says, is being conducted via Twitter and Facebook. A line from the poem: "Bombs and missiles failed to scare me. He came back with the rumor-spreading Twitter and Facebook." More about Naghdi's poem at Payvand Iran News...

Homeless Blogger Scoops Madison Media on Brittingham Park Body Story

Posted by T. Mannis Thursday, July 21, 2011

July 21, 2011 - Madison, WI - A homeless blogger beat the local media outlets in reporting the discovery of a man's body in a local park yesterday.

The "Homeless Patriot" reported at 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday that "Reports are circulating that a body was found a Brittingham Park this afternoon. Brittingham Park is on the northwestern shore of Monona Bay." The Homeless Patriot's posting of the report beat out all of the local media and bloggers. The Homeless Patriot scooped the local media again today by reporting that the body was badly decomposed (see HP's update here).

WKOW TV reported the story online at 7:43 p.m., three minutes after the Homeless Blogger posted his report. WISC TV did not report the story online until 8:04 p.m.

It was not until today at 10:45 a.m. that the Cap Times newspaper reported the story. They are reporting that the body is that of an unidentified man, age 36. Police have not yet said what the cause of death is, but the Homeless Patriot reports today in an update that the body was badly decomposed, making initial determination of sex difficult.

If you have information that could help the investigation, call Madison police at 608-266-4924.

Green Liberals at UW-Madison Should Turn Off Air Conditioners

Posted by T. Mannis Wednesday, July 20, 2011

July 20, 2011 - Madison, WI - Wisconsin's capitol city and liberal haven is broiling in a major heat wave this week, along with much of the United States. As would be expected, this has raised the demand for electricity, mostly due to increased use of air conditioning systems. The University of Wisconsin-Madison is having an especially hard time. As reported by WISC-TV in Madison, "About 40 buildings across the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus continue to be affected by air conditioning problems on Tuesday after failures at several power plants." A UW official, says WISC, said that "as air-conditioning demand continues to outpace supply.

Update, July 21, 2011: New All-time Record for Power Demand - WMTV (The liberals just can't live without their a/c! What, you think all the power demand is from evil Republicans?)

The Journal-Sentinel Online has a story yesterday about record power usage in Madison. Imagine all those uber liberals cranking up their air conditioners. Do you think they slept better in drier, cooler air? Or did they lose sleep because they felt guilty about contributing to global warming?

There's a sweet irony to all of this increased sweating on the UW campus. The vast majority of those sweating, I'm willing to bet, are liberals who devoutly believe in Al Gore's discredited doctrine of Global Warming. Ergo, they are the type of people who for years have been lecturing us about "going green" and using less electricity. This includes not only students, but much of the faculty and staff. They're all sweating this week, and they're all hypocritically wishing that the university can quickly restore the air conditioning on campus.

I say, Let them sweat. Give them the chance to live without hypocrisy and in swelting heat. It's only natural, isn't it? And isn't being as close to nature as possible a big part of being "green?" You betcha. The University of Wisconsin should just turn off the entire cooling system. Seriously: Think about how un-green it is to run a gargantuan cooling system for nearly a hundred buildings on a 40,000 student campus.

Some of the people I hope are sweating the most are the "climate change/global warming" media experts employed by UW-Madison. You can see them by clicking here. The ones I want to really sweat the most, however, are the global warming freaks at greenscene.journalism.wisc.edu and the Al Gore drones over at conserve.wisc.edu. You just know they're all maxing out their a/c this week, even as they plan new ways to tell us how naughty we are for still using incandescent light bulbs.

Perhaps I should be a little easier on the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After all, they're not exactly the greenest school around.

"Despite accolades for three other University of Wisconsin campuses," reported the Badger-Herald, "UW-Madison was not included in a list of the country’s top green college campuses according to a Princeton Review report" that was released in April, 2010. "Although the list included Wisconsin institutions such as UW-Oshkosh, UW-Milwaukee and UW-Stevens Point, UW was not among the top 286 chosen for the guide to display."

This just tells me that despite their preaching and posing, the UW-Madison leadership does not practice the green ways that it preaches. Turn up the heat, then, and let 'em sweat.

Full disclosure: I am an alumnus of the UW-Madison (B.A. Journalims, 1977). I am also a conservative who believes that the Sun is hot and can actually affect Earth's temperatures.

A conservative with a video camera invades a gathering of liberals and is told by a cop that he can't have an anti-Obamacare sign on school grounds. The cop's main objection to the sign: It had a picture on it. Uh huh. The title of the video is "It ain't [America] no more, OK?" The videographer gets people's reactions to his statements of little-known facts and pointed questions about eugenics and more. This video will make you chuckle, but it will also make you shake your head in disbelief over the ignorance of the Liberal.

Update From Homeless Patriot, Trying To Get Some Sleep

Posted by T. Mannis Friday, July 15, 2011

The Homeless Patriot (a.k.a. me) updates us on his (my) travails and discoveries about sleeping on a bus stop bench in Madison, a quieter environment, late night partying and psycho killers. Here's an excerpt:

I tried to use the bench as a bed because I missed last night's 10:30 cut off time for admission to the shelter I was sleeping in. I chose the bench at 3:00 this morning, after the partying on State Street died down.

As I wrote above, there's an up side to all of this: I was more comfortable on that bench than I was in a narrow bunk bed at the shelter. Being outside, the air was fresh and clean. In Chicago, I would have been hearing sirens often. I did not hear a siren once, and since I arrived in Madison on Monday I have heard fewer sirens than I usually heard in Chicago in an hour.

This Patriotic Blogger Is Homeless But Still Home In USA

Posted by T. Mannis Friday, July 08, 2011

The Homeless Patriot blogger is not quite homeless yet, but it's a matter of hours now. He will leave home on Sunday, July 10 to set out on the open road. In a funny way, he doesn't feel "homeless" as long as he's in the USA.

An excerpt:

Welcome to my journey. I have known that this was coming for a couple of weeks now, but time flies and suddenly the final moment of departure is so near. It's now a matter of hours before I have to hit the road. As of Sunday morning, when I step out of my apartment for the last time, I will be one of the millions of Americans who have recently become - or on the verge of becoming - "homeless." Two Videos Show UFOs Over Moscow, Russia on July 2, 2011

Posted by T. Mannis Saturday, July 02, 2011

Two New UFO Sightings Over Moscow, 02 July 2011 - These do not look like fakes.

Sure, one might just be a balloon drifting in the sky.

But the other video shows multiple UFOs in the sky, and it's very interesting. Those things are definitely not balloons, and they don't move like any Earthly aircraft I've ever seen. It's an eerie video, in part because of the lighting of the evening Moscow sky, and in part because those lights are just so... alien.
