Rupert Wates Performing in Chicago, July 17
Rupert Wates will perform his incredible guitar solo act in Chicago at Uncommonground on Clark on Friday, July 17. I first met Rupert Wates when he performed at a small coffee shop in Rogers Park, Chicago in July, 2008. His performance floored me. As I recall, the audience was just me and one or two other customers, yet Rupert gave a coliseum-quality performance. Indeed, he prefers to play small, intimate venues as he tours the U.S. Sounding like a one-man Moody Blues unplugged, he is truly a musician that deserves to be heard. And you deserve to hear him. (Watch a video of Rupert performing his song 'After The Rains' on the Bart Hawley TV Show, Michigan, September 2008.) He's originally from London, England but has been based in the U.S. since 2006 and now lives in New York City. More information: www.myspace.com/rupertwates and at Uncommonground's calendar.
