Replay: SEIU Violates Electioneering Rules

At least two members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) were standing inside a polling place this morning, a violation of election rules. They were electioneering, chatting up people and handing out literature as voters entered. (Video Below)

The two wore blue sweatshirts with "SEIU" emblazoned across the chest. SEIU is know to everyone in the 49th Ward as being vocal supporters of incumbent alderman Joe Moore. The polling place is within the St. George Cathedral at 7201 N. Ashland.

To enter, people had to pass through one set of doors, and then immediately through another set. The SEIU members were standing between the two sets of doors. RPB photographed them, phoned in a complaint to Election Central at 312-269-7870 and then approached them. Note: The two left the entryway just a few minutes after I called Election Central. I'm sure that was just a coincidence. Election Central assured me that someone would be sent out to "investigate."

"What were you folks doing in the entryway," I asked them.
"We weren't in the entryway," they said.
"I have photos of you in the entryway," I said, and the woman started whistling. It was like a scene from the Sopranos. "Hey Tony! Send the guns over!"

VIDEO...
A silver car pulls up and for a moment I thought there would be a confrontation. Fortunately, there was not. But RPB's camera kept clicking. Watch the slide show. Note: You'll see a couple of women; is was the morbidly obese one who was inside with Mr. Baseball Cap.
