Cheating on BlogNetNews.com/Illinois
First, let me say that I love BlogNetNews.com (BNN). It is a great blogging resource. But somebody is playing dirty games with BlogNetNews.com's "Highest Rated Blogs" list. A concerted effort and an incredible set of coincidences leaves one with no other conclusion: Liberals are not content to only cheat at the polls. They are cheating here, too. Remove the list. It is now proven to be meaningless. People who probably never heard of BNN before a few days ago were probably given marching orders by Democrat campaign lieutenant: "Go to BNN's web site and rank all of our friends' blogs as perfect tens!" This, by the way, coincides with Alderman Joe Moore's propa-blogs in Chicago's 49th Ward (see this story).

Somebody - or a group of people - seem to be playing dirty games with the "Highest Rated Blogs" list on blognetnews.com/Illinois. And it looks like a concerted effort.
The other day I ranted against a couple of bloggers in my backyard and went from a rating of 9.00 for a couple of weeks to a 5.50. Fine, okay, I can take my lumps, I'm here for the group experience and don't feel I'm in a popularity contest. I let that bump go, but now I see that was the start of a malignant trend.
Today I see something very, very strange. Suddenly, and I do mean suddenly, blogs such as Backyardconservative and MarathonPundit, who were rated above 8.00 for many weeks are under 6.00.
Is it only coincidence that suddenly, out of nowhere, leftist blog PrairieStateBlue is 10.00? Or Obama (10.00)? And several other Left Wing sites? Leave it to the Liberals. Boy, they just can't help themselves when it comes to cheating, whether at the polls or on the blognetnews lists.
Is it only coincidence that suddenly a bunch of moderate-to-conservative blogs have been knocked down on the list?
This does not look good for blognetnews. It has shown us all that the list is meaningless, that it is easily manipulated. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to let each of us decide in our own minds what the quality of a particular blog or blogs may be. It would keep people like the fans of the Obama blog from stacking the votes. Remove the "Highest Rated Blogs" list. It never had a legitimate use to begin with. Now sullied, it serves only selfish special interests.

Dave,
ReplyDeleteI respectfully disagree. People get to "choose what matters" in a more meaningful way by clicking on, and LINKING TO, posts on BNN. But have a bunch of Obama supporters get on and pile their rankings on is meaningless. These are people who probably never even heard of BNN until their campaign controllers gave them marching orders: "Go to BNN and rank every posting as a 10!" Absurd! This not a wholesale attack on BNN, only on a pointless popularity list. Dave, think!!! Are we really to believe that blogs as highly regarded and ranked as Crazy Politico or Marathonpundit or BackyardConservative just suddenly drop waaaay down, at the EXACT moment that obscure blogs rocket from zero to a perfect 10??? Is anybody capable of believing that?
